Found this heee-uge picture on accident, but it was a little grainy. So, I've touched it up as much as possible and added enough textures so that hopefully the leftover grainy-ness will just seem to be a part of the textures. I hope...
Is the text distracting? Too big? Too many quotes? Not transparent enough? Y'all know by now I'm awful at text...
Anyway, photobucket always shrinks my 1366x768 wallpapers, so if anyone wants to use the background I can try to work out how to get it to 'ya.
On second look, I think the water texture is a little overpowering... Aaannnddd... photobucket blurred the wallpaper too. *headdesk* Maybe I should get a flickr after all...

Very nice Lady Courage!
I think you blended the textures very well, I don't think I even would have know about the picture's quality unless you had said something.
There is only one thing I would change and this is just my opinion, but maybe you could have the font be a little less transparent so I can read it a little easier without having to really look at it.
I'm not sure if I'm making any sense. Anyway, it's just a thought.
Great job, I love it!

The text is not bad at all or overpowering Lady Courage. I think it blends very well as well as the texture. I also love the picture you used of Lucy.
Very neatly done! I like it.

Thank you for the thoughts y'all! I really, really appreciate it!
7chronicles, I was going for a "not-even-notice-the-text-at-first-then-suddenly-see-it-like-a-thought-unseen-yet-felt" sorta look. Maybe it's because I don't think that idea turned out well that I'm not so sure about this background... Of course, it's all less blurry in the original, so it may be easier to read in that one, I don't know. Because I worked on it so much, I know what all the text says without thinking, and you know how easy it is read ANYTHING no matter how obscure if you know what it says...
I was afraid that the text would detract from Lucy too much if I didn't make it somewhat obscure. I was hoping the eye would catch a glimpse of the text, but be drawn to Lucy, then after it had taken her in move to the text and actually read it. Like, you're reading her thoughts now? I don't know. I try to capture my ideas and themes, but I am seldom happy with the result. Anyway, if it looks "funny", then I suppose it doesn't look natural, does it? lol Maybe I should try another way to express the idea...
Of course, the color of the picture doesn't help. I had a hard time getting it bright enough without washing out Lucy's face; the lighting is very strong on her face. I really wanted it brighter, to suggest the brightness of her dreams and to go with the theme of her thoughts. But, that didn't work out too well...

Oh, I got it, that makes more sence to me.
I would keep it the way you have it then, now that I see what you wanted to do, I think it works really well!

I think it is great, Lady Courage! The textures and supposed "grainyness" of the image is fine for me, not distracting whatsoever. I like the water texture a lot, and I think it works with the text.
I would have tweaked with "You'll come back" and the logo near the bottom more. If you are gonna have the Narnia logo in that official font I would have made it stand out more, or centered it at least. Cause it seems like it should stand out (like on a poster).
The brightness I think is fine; I would not have pushed it much further, and I am glad you didn't.
Good cropping, I have to say. Most wallpapers tend to be more square, but you worked with a rectangle shape here and I think it works to your benefit. Plus, if you think about it, computer screens like you more when you have rectangles...
Good work!!!

I'd very glad you think so 7chronicles! Thank you so much for your input! It means a lot to me, especially since I admire your artwork.
Thank you for taking the time to look at it Follower of Aslan!
Now that you mention it, I agree about the "official font" thing. Truth be told though, the #1 reason I put that phrase in the wallpaper was because I needed an odd number of phrases... I nearly made it darker anyway, but it began to compete with Lucy for attention. Soo... I don't know. Smaller maybe? "I've come back!" is in a really thin, spidery font. It is rather hard to see...
Oh, I'm glad you like the brightness! I was really sorry over not being able to make it lighter, but I feel a bit better now that someone has a different opinion.
Thank you! My screen is a 1366x768, so I have to work with rectangles. But frankly, I like working with rectangles better anyway... lol
Thank you for your thoughts!

oh lovely! I love Lucy! I think that pic is so great too because Georige *SO* captured the innocent 'childhood wonder and awe' that Lucy *so* had in the books. An innocent nature that believers should have when surveying their Lord's works too =) that's why Lucy is the way she is =) And Georgie captured that...
So great work! Your colouring and texture looks splendid! =)
:music: risk it all cuz I'll catch you if you fall... if my heart was a house you'd be home :music:
Thank you Pepper Darcy! I like that picture too... I'm glad you like the coloring!
