Here's a project I have been working with for quite a long time. It's about Lucy and Reepicheep playing chess while voyaging on the Dawn Treader. I'm not at all happy with the sleeves, but I'm not going to try to do them again .

I will say it is a very cute drawing and that you are a better sleeve drawer then I am. I love Lucy's features, she looks very focus and the chess pieces are nicely drawn too. Good job!

Ooh, this is amazing! I love how you portrayed Lucy, especially how her hair looks like it's wispy & blowing in the wind. She does look very focused and I love the scene in and of itself. You're a very good artist and I love this picture. Good job!

I've said it before, and I'll say it again... you're super talented! I only wish I could draw as well as you!
Oh, don't change a thing on this drawing. It's PERFECT. (and your attention to detail is amazing!! I especially like the chess pieces! and I'll never get over the fact that you can draw faces and people. I can't... so I'm uber jealous )
I wish i was as good at drawing as you. Do you liek draw them then edit them on photoshop or are these you hand drawings?
Oh! this is gorgeous!! The sleeves are fine, and the shading is terrific!! I love the whole feel of the pic! 5 stars!!!
This is a beautiful piece, Mehinen! I think the sleeves are fine. My biggest quarrel is her hands, which looks almost to be behind her face, rather than resting on it. Also, their positioning/proportions seem to be a bit off, esp. on the right (her left) hand, on which I can't seem to find a distinction between her finger and her palm. If you tweak the hands a little bit I think it will be just perfect, and I LOVE the subtle hint at Reep down on the bottom, by the way! Excellent work!

Thank you, everyone! It feels really good to know you like the drawing.
IloveFauns: everything in this piece is hand-drawn. Nothing is fixed with computer .
narnialover101: I think you may be right about the hands. I had some troubles with them. How should they be tweaked? Should there be more fingers showing? I'm never sure about just what should be done .

Very nice drawing of Lucy. I like the look on her face that shows both concentration on the game and maybe concern about the voyage.

Another great illustration Mehinen. I really like the viewpoint on this piece, almost like the viewer is standing behind Reepicheep watching the game (very cool way to pull the viewer in). I think that Lucy's sleeves look fine and the shading here is great. Very nice detailing in the chess pieces as well as Reepicheep's feather. Hmm, I haven't played chess for awhile, and I'm sure you are cerrtain on it, but for the sake of detail and accuracy, it may be a good idea to go back and check on the positioning of the pieces. I'm sure you've got it all set though.
I agree on the hands as well. Hmm, soemthing about the shaping just doesn't feel right. You do get the sense that Lucy is resting her head on her hands, but soemthing isn't quite working. I can't put my finger on it for sure, but it may be beneficial to try the pose yourself in front of a mirror so that you can sketch the hands out. Also, in terms of perspective, I think there needs to be a little more to the egde of the table on Lucy's side, just to give more of a sense that she is resting her elbows on a solid table. Nice work .

One of my favourite vignettes from VotDT! I'm so happy you did an illustration for it. It turned out beautifully.
I think all the technical points have been addressed, so I'll just add that I love the mood of the piece.
