wow Libby, I love them
I especially loved "Escape In The Night"

~Caspian~

I wakened suddenly from my sleep
And from my bed I'm forced to leap
My teacher tells me I must run
My aunt this night has birthed a son

The wardrobe has a hidden door
That I've never used before
One look and my heart fills with dread
I see men shooting at my bed

Dr. Cornelius hurries me on
A cloak and sword I quickly don
Destrier, my horse, I see
Saddled, bridled, waiting for me

Cornelius hands something to me
Just before I flee
Every word he says I heed
"Do not use except in greatest need."

this part is my favorite :)

this is a series based on the beginning of PC movie when the Pevensies return to Narnia.
enjoy!

"Return" (part 1)

~Lucy~

HONK! HONK! The car's horn beeps
Away from it's path I quickly leap
I'm in a hurry to bring the news
I feel the pavement pound under my shoes

~Susan~

Soon it will be time to leave
For now I take a quick reprieve
With a magazine in hand
I lean against a newspaper stand

A boy comes over and speaks to me
I silly grin on his face I see
He rambles about how he sees me alone
I'd prefer to be on my own

"Me too!" He cries and smiles quite wide
Behind the magazine I try to hide
Still smiling he asks, "What's your name?"
I say, "Phyliss" even though it's quite lame

"Susan! Come quickly!" I hear Lucy cry
I put down the magazine with a sigh
Knowing that I'm not being kind
I turn and leave him far behind

~Peter~

All around me, voices chant
"Fight! Fight!" in a never ending rant
I'm back where I've been before
Being beaten 'til I'm quite sore

~Edmund~

I come in the middle of the fight
And try to put it all to right
I tackle the bullies to the ground
It's then we hear whistles sound

~Peter~

Soldiers come to stop the brawl
To my feet I am hauled
I am still shaking with rage
A soldier yells, "Act your age!"

~Edmund~

"Your welcome," I say as I sit
Peter's still having a fit
"I had it sorted," he says with a sigh
But I know that it's a lie

~Susan~

"What was it this time?" I say
Peter tries to explain it away
They bumped him and made him apologize
He followed with actions that weren't really wise

~Peter~

I'm tired of being treated like a kid
I think of all the fighting that I did
"How long does He expect us to wait?"
I've been growing impatient as of late

Okay, I haven't commented on the last few poems you wrote so here are my thoughts...

Going back to your first poem for PC, Escape In The Night...I believe you didn't miss a single detail from that amazing scene and really recaptured the emotions and all the action that takes place here. This is probably one of my favorite scenes in the movie and your interpretation of it through poetry is lovely! :D

I especially like this bit, where Caspian is actually fleeing!

Cornelius hands something to me
Just before I flee
Every word he says I heed
"Do not use except in greatest need."

All too soon I must go
There's so much more I want to know
"Go!" my teacher calls to me
I turn my horse and quickly flee

I'm riding faster then ever before
There's no knowing what's in store
Fireworks light up the sky
I know now that I must fly

I leave the castle behind me now
I have to loose those men somehow
Eight men pursue me on horseback
Posed and ready to attack

The woods loom silently ahead
I have no time to think of dread
My only thought is to get away
I'll be killed if I stay

Into a river I quickly ride
I look, but there's no place to hide
The trees surround but still they chase
Even though they fear this place

Now for the second set of poems, for the Pevensie's in the sequence scenes back in England, Return...Again, you paid attention to all the moments within the scenes themselves. The 1st part with Susan, where she's at the newsstand is quite funny! :p I also like how you really brought out Peter's anger and impatience, as he struggles to 'act his age' and be simply himself.

Great job! I can't wait to read the next sequence when the Pevensie's are transported into Narnia. It would be awesome if you included the lines...Susan: "Oh no...pretend you're talking to me!" Edmund: "We are talking to you.." I love them! :p

this is part 2 of the "Return" series based on the beginning of PC movie when the Pevensies return to Narnia.
enjoy!

"Return" (part 2)

~Susan~

"Oh no, pretend you're talking to me."
But my siblings don't see what I see
The geeky boy's here, what do I do?
Edmund says, "We are talking to you."

~Lucy~

I feel a sharp poke suddenly
Standing, I yell, "Someone pinched me!"
Susan just says, "Quiet, Lu."
But soon they all stand when they feel it too

All around the station shakes
And the walls begin to quake
The train is flaying past us now
But it all seems a blur somehow
The wind blows hard, I can barely stand
"Quick! Everyone hold hands!"

~Peter~

As the train goes flying by
Through the windows I see blue sky
I stare as everything is blown away
We're standing there on a sunny day

~Lucy~

We're surrounded by a beach
The ocean's there, just within reach
I turn to Susan and smile wide
Then all of us run into the tide

~Edmund~

"Where do you suppose we are?"
It's obvious we have come far
But Narnia didn't have ruins in our day
How long have we been away?

this is part 3 of the "Return" series based on the beginning of PC movie when the Pevensies return to Narnia.
enjoy!

"Return" (part 3)

~Lucy~

Up on the hill we look around
I listen but don't hear a sound
Looking out at the ocean below
I feeling inside me begins to grow
"I wonder who lived here?"
There's no one anywhere near

~Susan~

I see something on the ground
And my heart begins to pound
It's a chess piece made of gold
It is obviously very old

~Edmund~

I recognize what's in Susan's hand
From back when we lived in this land
Lucy's looking straight past me
She gasps and says, "It can't be!"

~Lucy~

I run to the hill's very top
It's there I look around and stop
I turn and say, "Don't you see?"
It's all come to me suddenly

"Imagine walls, and columns there."
And my siblings can only stare
There is nothing more to tell
We're standing in the ruins of Cair Paravel

Libby, your poems are terrific! I may have said this before, but you have a very good handle on successfully keeping up a rhyme scheme. Your poems are very detailed and are absolutely wonderful :) Keep it up

Wrong will be right when Aslan comes in sight / At the sound of his roar, sorrows will be no more / When he bares his teeth, winter meets its death / And when he shakes his mane, we shall have spring again

this is a poem based on the council of lords scene in PC movie.
enjoy!

"Dark Council"

~Miraz~

Standing with my wife and child
All around the air is mild
Little does Prunaprismia know
The reason the soldiers are below

Glozelle stops me before I see
He looks afraid suddenly
"Wait, my lord, it's not what you think."
What I see makes my heart sink

~Sopespian~

We're gathered to speak of what to do
It seems to me that it's not new
Prince Caspian has disappeared
And Miraz shows us what we've long feared

A Narnian Dwarf before our eyes
Now the truth we can't disguise
We thought that Narnia was long gone
But it seems in secret they lived on

~Miraz~

There's no stopping what's begun
We won't stop until it's done
I will find where Caspian ran
And finish what our ancestors began

this is a poem based on the part in PC movie when the Pevensies find the treasure chamber.
enjoy!

"Ancient Treasure"

~Edmund~

I look around suspiciously
There's something we have yet to see
Boulders into dirt are packed
"This didn't just happen, Cair Paravel was attacked."

Then I see a familiar wall
The only one that didn't fall
Behind it is a wooden door
Exactly how it was before

~Peter~

Cutting my way in with a knife
The door into my former life
I rip my shirt as something to scorch
But Edmund has his electric torch

~Lucy~

Down the stairs made of stone
To a place that is our own
Our treasure is where we left it last
Bringing memories of the past

~Susan~

My bow and arrows are still here
But one thing I sadly fear
My horn is the only thing I lack
I left the day we went back

~Peter~

My sword is here and not decayed
I strong hand on the hilt I lay
I pull it out and it shines bright
To me this is a comforting sight

~Lucy~

It all comes to me suddenly
If ruins here are all we see
Then everyone we knew is gone
"It's time we found out what's going on."

this is a series based on the scene when the Pevensies meet Trumpkin in PC movie.
enjoy!

"Trumpkin" (part 1)

~Soldier 1~

We're taking the dwarf out on the lake
I am now beginning to shake
The forest surrounds us on all sides
And there is nowhere we can hide

~Soldier 2~

We lift the dwarf, gagged and bound
But suddenly we hear a sound
"Drop him!" someone yells from the shore
Where no one had been before

~Susan~

The men drop the dwarf over the side
His hands and feet are tightly tied
I shoot and arrow from my bow
Into the water the soldiers go

~Peter~

I run, feeling my heart pound
If I don't hurry the dwarf will drown
Diving down, I grab his hand
And pull him back onto dry land

this is a poem based on the part in PC movie when Lucy sees Aslan in the woods.
enjoy!

"Joy"

Through the trees in the sunlight
My eyes take in a wonderous sight
A Lion stands before my eyes
Slowly to my feet I rise

Aslan looks into my face
And I run into His embrace
His presence takes away my fear
All else fades when he is near

here's a fun poem. I have lately been obsessed with the 25th anniversary version of "Les Miserables: The Musical" and I had the "Work Song" stuck in my head. so I wrote this poem to the same ryhme sequence as that song. when you read this, sing it to the tune of the "Work Song" which you can hear here if you don't know it:

"For Narnia And The North"

My life is poor
I'm always mending nets
From dawn's first light
Until the sun has set

I long to see
What's there beyond that hill
But there's no hope
That I ever will

But look who comes
A man with a dark face
His clothing shows
He's a Tarkhaan by race

We're forced to give
Him shelter for the night
And my future
Doesn't seem so bright

I sit beside the door
And listen in
Arsheesh explains
That I am not his kin

I am shocked
But quite relieved as well
For years, this fact
I could often tell

I go into
The donkey's stall and sigh
I'd never loved Arsheesh
No matter how I tried

I say out loud
I wish the horse could talk
And when it does
It gives me quite a shock

The horse tells me
I'd rather die tonight
Than be his master's slave
In the morning light

He then explains
That we must now away
For Narnia and the North
That will be our way
