So, I have pretty much figured out all of the Gimp stuff that you guys say in your tutorials excpet for the "Layer Masks". What are they & what do they do? How do you use them?what is a layer mask? Thank you!

I'm new to gimp, and I have a question. When I try using the Intell Scissors to cut something out, it won't allow me to go as high as my picture or as low. How do I fix that?

I use photobucket, how do i overlay images so you can see both??

It does the same with me. I prefer using the eraser. It's much better if your trying to have the top picture mixed in with a picture below it. If that's what you're trying to do. If not, tell me what you are trying to do, and I can probably tell you a better way. (I never use scissors at all. There's usually a better way of doing whatever a scissors would normally do)

Oh, and you know how in some graphics people will put really tiny words, like lyrics and such? How do you do that?

MrsHolmes, I have an answer to your *Edit*. Those tiny words are usually textures which are blended in various modes (screen, multiply, burn, etc.) to the graphic you're making. If you're interested, I can PM you a few of those and make a tut illustrating an example of using one of them

I don't know where to get any pictures so if you guys have any good pictures or any good websites and could show me where they are that would be great!!

Well, for Narnia pics, I recommend SpareOom.net: http://www.spareoom.net/gallery/ As for pics of the actors, just look for their galleries on the internet, type their names and the keyword 'gallery' or 'photos' in Google and the galleries pop out in top results

I've been having problems with my Adobe Photoshop lately, and decided that maybe I'd ask here. Every time I open Photoshop, my computer completely freezes and stops responding (my mouse disappears and does weird stuff). It's rather hard to explain, but I was wondering if someone else has had the same problem?

I'm not sure what it can be. Photoshop is a very big and 'heavy' program, it does give trouble, mine once was in an annoying habit of shutting down by itself as soon as it loaded. It could be insufficient operative memory, or too little memory on your disk... That's the only thing that comes to my head for now, see the free space on your comp on the disk where PS is installed. Sorry, I'm not much help

Fireflower, I'd like to second Beginte's post because I had a similar problem in the past. I'm not sure if it's the same problem you're having, but for me, the program sometimes stops responding and closes out. I use Photoshop Elements on my laptop, and it does require a lot of memory to run. If you look on the packaging, it should tell you the recommended memory. We upgraded my laptop to 4GB of memory, and it runs pretty well now. (It does still close out once in a while, but usually that's when I have a bunch of other programs open too.) Also, I have an external hard drive to store extra files on, including a lot of Photoshop files that I don't need on my computer at the moment. Photoshop format files take up a lot of room, as do picture and video files, and that can slow your computer down. Finally, it would help to make sure you don't have any other programs running in the background and using up too much memory. On my PC (I don't know how to do it on Macs), you can find this out by striking Ctrl, Alt, and Delete at the same time, then clicking on "Windows Task Manager". From there, you can look at the applications running, as well as monitor how much memory your computer is using.

Would someone be willing to make me a wallpaper using pictures of Lucy and Edmund together from the three movies? Maybe the picture of them hugging in the first movie after they find out he is redeemed. Besides that one whatever other pictures from the other two movies.
