Hello all!
I received some new art markers for Christmas that I was just itching to try out, and at the same time, I've been wanted to put some of my art up here for a while. So, I thought, why not use my markers to draw something Narnia-related? (I'm all for multi-tasking )
I ended up doing a rather colorful picture of Aslan, and I think it turned out quite nicely despite the fact I only spent maybe two hours on it. I found a picture of a lion on the internet to use as a reference, though the end product turned out looking nothing like it. The colors I used made me think of a sunrise, so I put a dark sky behind Aslan, as if his face is turned toward the sun - the first dawn of Narnia.
Enjoy! Comments and criticism are always welcome.

Oh my goodness, Silvie!!! I love this! It's gorgeous! I love how you used a bunch of different colors in his mane to create that colorful effect, and I also love your lighting (i.e., how his right side is darker than the other). I also like how you got Aslan to look like he's smiling without it looking weird - that's one of my biggest problems, especially when drawing Aslan. It's extremely hard for me to draw lions. I wouldn't have been able to tell you drew it with markers if you hadn't told me. I just absolutely love it!
I didn't know you could draw like this! It's gorgeous!! I want to see more whenever you have it ... Pretty please?

Hey Sliver,
I really like the way you colored Aslan in your drawing. At first, I thought it was a professionally made poster. You did a brilliant job on this one my friend.
Exceptional Effort!

Wonderfully good job, Silver!
I wish my drawings of him turned out that well!
Everything about it is just right. And the colours are so vivid, pretty, and awesomely handled! I wish I could say more than that, give you some constructive input... but I just can't think of the words right now.
I too, would love to see more, if you felt so inclined to draw and show us any!
Absolutely gorgeous work! Hat off to you for using markers so wonderfully, I always thought them very hard, but they give such beautiful effect by hand of someone who knows how to use them, and you're definitely such an artist! I love the vivid, bright colors of Aslan's mane, the shading is perfect, the details give an amazing depth to the picture. The theme and title are breathtaking, I like imagining the first sunrise of Narnia, and while the image in my head doesn't have much in common with your picture, your version of it is just dazzling! Bravo!

Oh wow that is really great! Superb! maybe a tad too blue on one side, like where is it coming from? But really really nice! Love how you can see the little lines that make the drawing.

That it stunning, Silver! I love how you were able to mix the colours for such a bold effect.
I'm particularly impressed with the eyes. They're so luminous and crisp.

Thanks Fie! I'm glad you like it! I guess the trick with the smile is just a subtle upward curve on his mouth, and the slightest squint on his eyes. It's not much, but I'm glad he came out looking like a happy lion.
Thank you, Libby!
Thanks, Wind! I'm glad you like the colors.
Thank you very much, Greenbird!
Thank you, PA! I'm glad you like the colors too! I was trying to do something semi-abstract, with all those blues, and it was sort of nerve-wracking for a while. He's blue! But I guess it worked out in the end.
Thanks, Beginte! Actually, I haven't done a whole lot with markers. I'm more of a colored pencil/watercolor/Photoshop kind of person. But I guess they're sort of like colored pencils, only much less time-consuming. I'm looking forward to playing around with them a bit more. Actually, the title was sort of a compulsive idea. If I had thought of it at the beginning, I might have done something different. Ah well, maybe I'll have to revisit that concept sometime...
Thank you, _Lilliandil_! I know, it's a lot of blue. Where is it coming from? I honestly don't know! Lilliandil the glowy blue star, perhaps? (Or maybe it's just me, trying out as many of my new markers as possible.)
Thanks Mel! I love drawing eyes - they're my favorite part! I always seem to start with them.
Thanks everyone for your support - I'd love to put up some more art! The hardest part is coming up with an idea. Perhaps I should open the Chronicles to some random page and see what scene I land on?

The sky is really expressive, and you have a great dark/light ratio, with a very pleasant gold color for the lighted part of Aslan's mane. The only think I would change, is to make the darker, more bluish part of Aslan to have a more minimal amount of different colors for the individual hairs.

Oh Wow! This is gorgeous Silver the Wanderer!
Your coloring is fantastic!
The way you colored the lighting in the picture is beautifully done!
My favorite part of the drawing are his eyes! I’m drawn right to them, which I think is fitting since it is Aslan! Great, Great Job!

That is quite lovely. You are talented :] I loooove the way you blended the colors and transitioned the warms to cools.
Wow that is great drawing!
