Always Winter

I had intended to use this as the front of my Christmas cards this year, but I never got an appropriate centerfold design done. (I had considered doing the party that is turned to stone, and I had also considered just Aslan but neither were ever drawn.) So this is all there is.
EDIT Jan 2: Because I could, and Mehinen mentioned it... a version digitally altered to blue.

Wow, I like it. Is it supposed to be in Tumnus' house?

Why am I not surprised that the fountain of talent that is Mel, is able to come up with something this wonderful! It would make a lovely Christmas card, Mel!
Well done! (was there any doubt )

There's a very cozy feeling in that picture, nearly too cozy for the text . Beautiful snowflakes, well-drawn books (especially the one on the table) and good perspective. Excellent work!

You should use it for christmas cards next year. That is awsome.
Wow Meltitalle. All your drawings are so detailed and beautiful! This one is no exception! The snowflakes are very realistic, the room so cozy. A real work of art. The only thing I would point out is that the handle of the teacup is a little askew, perspective-wise. Nothing major at all.
Wonderful job! I really admire your work. You should definitely use this on your Christmas cards next year, if you can get around to it.

wolfloversk, yes this was intended to be inside Tumnus' house, though it doesn't have to be. That's why there are sardines on the table.
(was there any doubt )
(Yes )
Mehinen, I wonder if the warm colours are contributing to the cozy feeling. It might be fun to do a blue version.
Adeona, I can see the skew on the teacup now that you mention it. If it were more twisted, I could pretend that it was supposed to be weird, but...
MA and ILF, thank you so much for your kind words.

Wow this is a very beautiful piece of art. AsMehinen, stated, it has a very cozy feeling that kinda just drawns you into it. The warm brown color of the pencil really helps with that. THe tea cup, which seems to be one of the center objects in the picture, is very nice indeed. The designs flowing on the outside are wonderful and the steam wafting up from the hot contents givesd it a realistic touch. I love the way it seems the light from the fire, really is making everything brighter, and spreading through out the room. The plate, with small sardines is a humorous thing due to Tumnus's comment about sardines "By the bucket load". But I still think it's a nice added item that fits in to it's happy cheerful feeling. The rounded book shelf is also a nice touch, with many books on it, some flopped over and other not. I love the gorgeous designs around the egdes, the snow flakes and other things. Great job
!!! I think you did a wonderful and awesome job of capturing it!!!

Beautiful Drawing, (I prefer the brown to the blue).
Such talent! I agree that it feels cozy, atleast in the brown version.
First impression I had was that it was Mr Tumnus's house.
Nice "Christmas card" (I'm not sure if that title quite fits or not) Meltintalle, very fitting for the occasion. Both coloration variations seem to work on their own levels, as such I couldn't say which version I prefer more. Whereas the "warm" red version has a cozzy and inviting feel, it contrasts with the downside behind the meaning of the text. The blue version, a little less inviting, matches well with the text. On this version though, there is a bit more feeling of joy with the lit fire and steam lines from the cocoa. The snowflake pattern definitely has more of an impact in blue and works well as a border to both pieces. Now I'm wondering what a third version would look like using a bit of both red and blue coloration . The details and design to the room look good as well, a nice set up to the decor. The linework is also something to marvel at (it's not a specific, "crystal-like" detailing, but there's definitely a certain quality to it that is pleasing to the eye). Nice work on both variations .

Yes, it is considerably less cozy now that it's blue . Good work!
