My latest Mash-up!

Alice must set all to rights in the mysterious wonderland within a wardrobe where an evil queen and her minions oppress the people. With the help of the Mad Helmet Man, Alice must bring peace to the land and save it from 100 years of tyrannical winter...sound familiar? Sorta? Well... :)

Happy New Year!

Great mash-up. I love crossover trailers and this one was done quite well. The only complaint I have is of the audio. It was rather poor. But lovely idea, and very well edited. :)

Thank you, princess_of_narnia for replying! I'm glad you liked it! :)
I'm a little curious...what about the audio did you not like?

Well, you know how I feel about cross-over trailers 2nd, but I will give you my sincerest opinion :) . I do agree about the overall quality of the audio track. It seems fine through the middle (I had some trouble hearing what was being said in some of the dialogue, but I don't think that's your fault), but the beginning dialogue sounds a bit "disturbed". It's sounds a bit dull or tin-cannish, if that makes any sense (almost as if you recorded it straight from a computer's speakers with a mic and then played it back through the computer, really brings down the sound quality this way. Hopefully that's a bit more clear).

Overall editing of clips works well. It might have been nice to have seen a bit more of a matchup between the Narnian clips and the dialogue from the Alice trailer (I know that some places may not allow for this sort of thing, but I was really looking forward to seeing something off the bat with the "mad as a hatter/luckily I am" line, instead of Lucy falling over). However, the fading between clips in the beginning, with the different landscapes of Narnia is really effective with the dialogue track (it's nice to see both LWW and PC clips). I particularly like the editing at 51 and 134. The first section due to the fact that there is a lot of dialogue about the "Red Queen" matched with clips of the White Witch. I really like the use of the "Red Queen's" dialogue over the clip of the White Witch pushing her way out of her ice chasm, really works well for me. The darkness of these scenes not only matches both character personalities, but also the "intensity" of the score playing in the BG. As for the second clip setting, I just like the use of matching up the cliffside scenes in PC and making it feel like one giant fall (a connection to the long fall through the rabbit hole in Alice?). I'm not much for the whole speeding up of clips look, but I think in the case of Miraz putting on his helmet and walking towards the dueling ring, it works. I believe it's because of the styling of the music, the "nuttiness" of it seems to open it's way for the "non-traditional" pacing of the clip.

Most of the lip-sync looks good as well. With the first matchup of Miraz "saying" "I am", this looks good, but I really feel like it needs to be cut short. For the moment I am watching this clip, I can totally believe that Miraz is saying the same dialogue up to that point. But once the dialogue continues along with Miraz's lips, I'm pulled out of the trailer because the two no longer match. I could still believe in it if the clip were to change into the clip of Lucy sooner, with the dialogue still playing over it. The dialogue match-up between the "Red Queen" and the White Witch look great in all the clips, especially the "off with their heads". Father Christmas's giggle (a bit creepy :) ), however random (I know, it's from Alice, but still, not much of a Father Christmas thing) works nicely as well. Though it's not a lip-sync moment, I really, really like the dialogue usage of "we have our champion" with the clip of Lucy puling out her dagger on the bridge (very effective visually and probably my favorite part of the entire trailer).

The inclusion of actor/actress names near the end of the trailer also works well. The styling here seems to match up with the music and the pacing between these "titles" works well. The end titles also look good. Nice work on the pacing between "Wonderland" and "Narnia", the change between titles matches perfectly with the beat in the music, as do the fades. "The Coming Very Soon" also works with the beats of the score very effectively. Nice work on your trailer .
