I wonder if at some point in the series they'll say that the Dark Island was made by Tash, I'd rather it be made by him than either of the witches since he is really the ultimate villian in Narnia.

"Be cunning, and full of tricks, and your people will never be destroyed." -Richard Adams, Watership Down
There's more chance that the White Witch will tempt Edmund, so I'm more for the Lady of Green Kirtle. We can do without, though
"Are you sure you're eighteen?"
"Why? Do I look older?"
The reason we don't hear about either Tash or LOTGK in THIS BOOK is that Lewis had not invented them yet!!
In the book the evil comes from individual people - apart from that one weird island.
[And Lewis doesn't tell us why it is like that. Makes me think of dark spiritual places where Christians should be careful about entering - and only do so well supported by others' prayers.]
Neither the WW (who died 1300+ years earlier), nor the evil spirit that clearly inspired her, nor whatever inspired LOTGK (who seems to be basically a creature, not a human, making me wonder where she came from before she was in the land north of Narnia), is behind the evil situations in VDT.
The movie writers may suggest otherwise. They may not. I will wait until I see the film before drawing my conclusions.
There, shining in the sunrise, larger than they had seen him before, shaking his mane (for it had apparently grown again) stood Aslan himself.
"...when a willing victim who had committed no treachery was killed in a traitor's stead, the Table would crack and Death itself would start working backwards."
well, since WW is obvioulsy in VotDT, I have no objection. it's already done so we can't change it

What do you mean the evil spirit that inspired the WW, the books never says anything about that?
I voted Jadis is way better because it seems that there is no witch, just "something far more powerful than a witch" , so she appears to be just a nightmare. So it would make more sense for there to be a nightmare about her, who they have seen, than about a villain who they have not seen. If they keep her as minor as she was in PC, than I'll be pleased. Still wish Tash was behind the Dark Island though.

You know what? I was thinking about this today and I honestly believe she is just Ed's nightmare nothing more. I'm not so sure thsat she was trying to tempt Ed on the DI since, he's already a king so it doesn't make sense, but rather it's his nightmares reflecting the memory of what happened in LWW. Since in LWW she offers him kingship, a part of his nightmares probably reflected this memory, hence the whole "I can make you my king" line. I don't think it really goes against the scene in PC when he breaks the ice, because he was likely very tramatized by it (he was held captive and nearly killed afterall) rather I think that scene in PC shows the start of a very long road to recovery, which may be continued to be shown in VDT. Also it said your worst nightmares will come true, it doesn't specify that those nightmares have to be current, he probably dreamt about it during and right after LWW. If this is the case then I shall be ok with her presence.
Just a thought- hope it makes sense.

I really think all this talk of ruining Ed's character development in PC because he is haunted by the WW in VDT is really ridiculous.
He would have been hypnotized just like Caspian and Peter were if he had not come from behind.
It had nothing to do with being stronger than them, just being in the right place at the right time.
I would prefer if there was no witch in the movie, but the LOTGK would be better than the WW. It could make for a good intro into SC.

It`s interesting that you should see it that way. When PC came out Ed was praised as being heroic , smarter and much stronger than Peter for not falling into the witch`s spell. The scene is often refereed to as Edmund saving the day.Truthfully its most likely fear of falling into her trap a second time that causes him to strike from behind. This is probably the first time I can recall someone reflecting upon the scene this way. Most often Peter and Caspian are bashed for being weak in light of Ed`s heroism. I remember how some fans were so angry when Peter lowered his sword as though he was considering the witch`s offer.
Neither. There are no witches in the Dawn Treader at all.

Jadis for this movie, most definitely LGK for SC!
