I honestly think that HHB shouldn't be filmed until later. It's too much of a sidestory and not essential to the main Narnian storyline. Maybe in a few years after TLB comes out it can be filmed, much like the Lord of the Rings people are doing the Hobbit.
They could make the pevensies younger in HHB, but I'd prefer them to be (young) adults..
They could make SC first, and after that MN and HHB together, and as final tough the LB
I agree about the HHB not being about as largely important as the other stories. I mean, most of the book doesn't even take place in Narnia!

Welcome to NarniaWeb NarniaVideoEditor! Enjoy your time on the forums!
They are making the silver chair next. They are doing so that Will Poulter doesn't age to quickly in between movies. Also it is reported that the movie will come out this year. There will be a little scene with Georgie Henley and Skander Keynes to know more go to my youtube channel NarniaVideoEditor. There are some reports that they are already working on the new script but ruffly! Some art work might be released this sumer to assure this I looked up my sources!

My preferred order:
SC (with a decent advertising campaign it could do better financially than VDT has so far)
HHB (I just badly want to see this one put to film)
MN (assuming they have the budget for it)
LB

NarniaVideoEditor, Welcome. That would be fantastic if they had SC out by this year.

Someone on the Narniaweb news comments said that they were already planning to make HHB next, but he wouldn't say what his source is. So, I don't know if there's any truth to it.
If that's the case, they might be thinking of skipping SC altogether. There is some logic to that I guess. On the one hand, they simply can't replace Will Poulter, now that he's established himself as the definitive Eustace. On the other hand, making SC WITH Will Poulter is a problem, because he's arguably much too old for the part.
Now, I know he was only a year and a half younger when they filmed VDT, but he was small and young-looking for his age, and with some strategic wardrobe decisions they were able to pass him off as a tween easily, which isn't too far off from the little boy he's supposed to be in the book. It's an allowable change. In SC, he's still supposed to be a little boy, but, Will Poulter the actor, is almost a legal adult, and he looks every minute of it.
I hate to break it to y'all, but it wouldn't be humanly possible to film SC for release for this year. VDT was finished filming before the end of '09, but the post-production went on for over half of 2010. They haven't even started pre-production for SC and it hasn't even been greenlit yet.
I had an interesting discussion with glumPuddle yesterday evening in the NarniaWeb chatroom in which we discussed this topic. We know that the filmmakers have hinted that they might want to do MN next. This is probably because MN is a much more marketable film than SC (they could stick the White Witch on all the posters and actually feature her in the trailers without getting heat from purists). However, MN needs a huge budget in order to be done justice in the third act. The budget is probably going to be lowered for the next Narnia film, which would be fine for SC but not for MN. glumPuddle stated it this way: two things that would work are SC with low budget, or MN with high budget. Unfortunately, they're probably going to do MN with low budget.
I don't see why they would film HHB next. They would have to market it as some sort of spin-off. "The adventures of the original Pevensie kids that you, the audience, would rather see than Eustace and Jill."

More marketable, perhaps. It's been a while since LWW came out, though, so we don't know how much of a draw Tilda Swinton still is. Also, MN is an extremely hard to adapt book. The pre-production process will be dogged by the same issues that plagued VDT. VDT is a series of interesting mini-plots, but without a strong, central plot to give the journey coherence and direction. MN is even worse in that there's no semblance of a plot whatsoever. At best, they'll barely salvage it with a mediocre made-up plot like they did with VDT. At worst, it'll be a tedious, confused disaster. If MN comes next, it will effectively kill the series.

I could not agree with you more.
I think it is an amazing book....and has potential to be an amazing movie, but I think that it should done last, if at all. I think that filming it after VDT or SC would mean the end of the series and we wouldn't get any closure with LB.

He's supposed to be 9 years old in SC the book and 17 by time of Last Battle. Was looking at some recent photos for Wild Bill, the film he's shooting now and yeah he is pretty much older looking.... moreso than even Will Moseley was for PC. Shame for all the delays that might prevent WP from being in SC if they can't make it in a timely fashion....I would hope if they did make it it would be for December 2012 but at this rate....I'm wondering if they would do a recast.
I was hoping for SC and LB to made next and HHB and MN to be made
afterwards as prequels. This is where the Potter films make this franchise look bad...they are pretty regular on release.

^I have mixed feelings on HHB (or MN) being last. I know this works well age-wise so that the Pevensies would be older then than later in LB. But I just can't see it working that way too well. It wouldn't be too easy (as far as I know) to do the ending scene in LB if there was some strange characters present you didn't get to know about until later. LB, to me, is the best way to close off the Narnia series, and neither HHB or MN could suceed quite the same if it was after and not before that. (This could turn into a giant dispute if it wanted too. )
EDIT: And whoa to recasting for SC! I don't think there's any real necessary reason to do that (besides a couple things). I only want Will Poulter as Eustace for now, and until we're deeper into SC (hopefully), this isn't something to worry about.
