I remember doing this a few months before PC came out in theatres and I'm doing it again with VDT. Basically, I've collected all the major controversial issues that surrounds the VDT movie to us Narniawebbers and all of us gets to choose which one bugs us out/ preoccupies the most.
So vote away and explain why by replying!

I chose the WW. I would have picked the undragoning of Eustace since its the most important element to me, but I think that most likely than not, the undragoning will have more to it than Eustce simply falling into the water and coming out a boy.
I am just so tired of seeing the WW. I didn't mind her in PC, but I have just had enough of her now.

The DI subplot- -Why?! It's not necassary. You can easily tie the plot together without making the DI a major villian. You don't need a major villian. Subtle changes will do for that, not awefully major ones.

The undragoning of Eustace. I can handle all of the Witches/Soul feeding Green Mist/love triangles, and MLG's the movie dishes out as long as they retain the spiritual messages of the book. Not caring too much about the plot of the VotDT book, the spiritual themes are the most important element of the story for me.
Winter Is Coming
I voted the inclusion of Peter and Susan. I know it won't be too much of a big deal possibly because in the new banner they are standing on a cliff when at Aslan's Country they are standing on a straight surface of sand and both Susan and Peter are more faded as if they really are not there. I'm really hoping and praying to God that Caspian and Susan do not see each other. It would ruin everything, don't you get that Fox!!!! This conflict between Suspian's and Caspian/Lilliandil will never come to an end thanks to false and stupid advertising!! Concentrate on real love will you instead of all this Katy Perry/teenage dream and physical appearance trash that goes on today!!!
Long Live King Caspian & Queen Liliandil Forever!

I voted for the undragoning. I am very worried that the undragoning I love in the book will not be in the movie Of course we will not know till the movie. The only other thing I am worried about is Susan and Peter. THEY ARE NOT SUPPOSE TO COME BACK!!!! But hopefully it will not be that big of problem But they are on a movie banner!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The Green Mist, it's the biggest change in the movie, and I'm worried how it will play out.
I'm more concerned about how it'll come off in 3D as we've heard that it wasn't filmed for 3D in the first place.
I went into this go-round expecting changes and not necessarily a faithful adaptation because of what we got with PC and PC is my favorite book after LWW. I am refusing to draw a conclusion on what we've seen until I see the movie for myself. So there's no point in worrying about it. I want to go in and enjoy it for what it is shaping up to be, a good movie. There are few enough of those these days.
So it makes more sense to wonder about the technical issues that they are facing then anything plotwise.
The seven swords are what concren me the most. I might be able to handle the WW(maybe... ), and I don't have enough info to say what I think of Eustace's dragoning, Ed's and Caspian's tension on RD, and the MLG. But I'm disappointed that the point of finding the seven lords is for their swords, and then use those swords to defeat the darkness. What happened to finding the lords to right Miraz's wrong? And this all links to the DI plot, so I can't say I'm happy about that either. Is it that hard to make a fantastic movie without having to put in huge plot changes?!
Maybe I'm just really concerned if the main themes of the book are still in there. That's what makes VDT special to me, and I'm just afraid that the DI and seven swords plot will cover that up.
I think that in the end, this movie will rock! But will it rock because of all the changes, or because it's just like the book we cherish? Only time will tell...
To answer honestly, I had to think through what I felt about each item.
1. Gael originally worried me, but honestly I don't think she'll have a huge part and she might be a good foil to show Lucy's character change over time.
2. I will worry if the White Witch is behind everything, but it looks like she might just be a manifestation of the Dark Island's 'dreams becoming real' thing, which is acceptable, if annoying.
3. I'm worried the seven sword will be cliche, but if they have a believable backstory that makes the Lords a little more three-dimensional, I may be able to handle it.
4. The whole Dark Island thing could go two ways: it could be terribly cliche and overtake the whole plot, or it could be ok. I'm not thinking it'll be great, but maybe it'll be feasible at least. It's definitely number 2 on my worry list.
5. Peter and Susan was a high worry point soon after their appearance in the trailers, but now I'm not really worried at all. It sounds like they appear in a dream/magic sequence with Lucy and the actual characters are never in Narnia. I can handle that. Still don't know what's up with the trailer footage, but I'm starting to suspect a sort of 'I am Prince Caspian' scene.
6. Caspian and Edmund's "No" scene is annoying and will cause my eyes to roll, but as long as that is the extent to which Edmund shows any interest in Ramandu's Daughter, I'll grumble but live. Anything more and this will be number 3 on my worry list because it alters Edmund's character beyond the bounds of acceptable deviation.
7. I hate 3D, but Alice in Wonderland wasn't too bad (I'm not going to talk about Avatar because VODT's situation is more akin to Alice's) so I'll go see it in 2D and then, if I like the movie, see it in 3D, and then forget about it completely except to wince at any obviously-put-it-for-3D-effect scenes.
8. There is so much confusion surrounding the undragoning that I am just going to wait for clarification and/or the movie itself to even worry about it. I'm still of the opinion that if Eustace is undragoned during the fight with the sea serpent that they will then show the actual undragoning in flashback during the row-boating to Aslan's Country scene. Slightly worried that they will have Eustace earning his undragoning, but I'm hopeful from some of the interviews that it will be obvious that he does not.
So, in conclusion, I picked 'other' for my vote. The scene I'm most worried about is the end scene when Aslan says that in our world he has another name. We know that part is in. We don't know if he also says 'you were brought to this world so that you may know me better in your world'. I think that is just as key as 'in that world I have another name'. It is the reason the Pevensies and the others are brought to Narnia. It's the answer. So I'm very worried the movie won't get that correct.

My overview of VODT: http://lady-lirenel.livejournal.com/151965.html
Either the Green Mist/Dark Island or the Witch/es.
I've assumed they've done it green for two reasons - black 'mist' is less easy to present in CG (it would also look like exhaust from the van I followed yesterday!), and for book readers a hint at a link to the SC villain.
Not sure I am going to be happy with it, and still waiting to be reassured about how much linking Mr Apted has included to the next film.
The witch inclusion is actually part of this - I can handle a nightmare of Jadis tempting Edmund (or even Caspian), if she is only there as a Dark Island nightmare. The LOTGK needs to stay under wraps for now.
There, shining in the sunrise, larger than they had seen him before, shaking his mane (for it had apparently grown again) stood Aslan himself.
"...when a willing victim who had committed no treachery was killed in a traitor's stead, the Table would crack and Death itself would start working backwards."
I voted for the Darkness / Dark Island / Green Mist thing. It just sounds weird and misses the point of the book. I was looking for an "all of the above answer. Actually, I've stopped worrying about Gael. It seems that that change is the least of our worries.
So in order,
Darkness
WW
Seven Swords
Eustace's undragoning
Edmund / Caspian
I really don't care about 3D one way or the other.
NW sister to Movie Aristotle & daughter of the King
My order would probably be
1. Eustace's undragoning
2. The White Witch/Witches
3. The Dark Island/Green Mist/Soul Feeding
4. Gael...she could be really annoying
5. Peter and Susan's appearance
6. The Edmaspiandil triangle.
7. The 3-D Conversion...I don't even know why this is on the list.
Winter Is Coming
1. The Di subplot, biggest change from the book by far.
2. The Seven Swords thingy, I'm not exactly sure what they do but I don't like it .
3. The undragoning of Eustace, a very important scene in the book.
4. The WW, if she isn't controlling the DI but just a nightmare from it I won't really mind, but I am a little tired of seeing her.
5. Having Peter and Susan, it totally depends on how this is handled, it could be good and it could be very bad.
6. The Caspian, Edmund and Lilliandu thing, not horrible but annoying.
7. Gael, I actually might like the idea.
8. the 3D, if it help the series to continue I am all for it.
I voted for the mist/Dark Island/Soul-eating thing. It just sounds so cheesy in the reports and even the trailer. Plus, I don't want them to make it seem like this Dark Island thing is stronger than Aslan.
"It can steal the light from this world"? Would that light include Aslan's light? I hope the filmmakers know what they're doing...
