To the 2 posters above me, I may have bad news for you

This Narnia film could be Barnes's last. He isn't signed for any more sequels, which shouldn't surprise fans of the books.
"In The Silver Chair (1953) Caspian is a very old man," Barnes says. "I'd like to see them do the whole series. I've grown to love doing sword fights and riding horses.
Let's hope this is just because SC isn't yet green-lit and that they will sign him up once the movie is confirmed.
You'll come back when they call you
No need to say goodbye
If SC is green lit, I bet Ben is going to be one of the first people they go for. Will as well. Other then that, the majority of characters are new. They can't sign official contracts until the movie is green lit, which is (hopefully) why Ben isn't signed yet.

It's like Ian McKellen, Andy Serkis, Cate Blanchett, and so on for the Hobbit movie. Basically all the actors said they would jump at the chance to go back to Middle Earth, but they had to wait for it to be greenlit. At least the later two, now, I believe, have signed on now that PJ got the green light.

My overview of VODT: http://lady-lirenel.livejournal.com/151965.html
Now I have seen the movie and they had better not loose Poulter!
Plus no Jistace (or Eustill) romance!

I actually hope they have the Jadis in The Silver Chair. I love how she has tried to return in the last two movies as if they were building up to something. They could do it in a clever way. Jadis guides the Lady of The Green Girdle giving her power and leading her to build an Army to invade Narnia. Jadis will appear in the green mist.
When the Lady in the Green Girdle is destroyed, the White Witch is also finally destroyed completly.
This will lead into the next movie which would most likely be Magician's Nephew, where we get to see the White Witch in full power again.
Also, I hope The Silver Chair has a nice size budget. They will need it to make the giant scenes look great, the underground ocean, the underground city, the gnome army digging up through the ground and of course the green witch and her magic.
"WhiteWitch", you are in the vast minority.
That would totally ruin, not only the entire story of 'Silver Chair', but also the whole purpose of the story of LWW, and ruin the character development of Edmund.
It makes absolutely no sense and I would chant and praise for the end of the film franchise as we know it if such a thing ever happened.
"Today you are you, that is truer than true. There is no one alive who is youer than you!"

Well I wouldn't say it would ruin the entire story, or Ed's character, but it would certainly knock my rating down a few notches....
The only way they could have Tilda play the LotGK is if they made it abesolutely clear that they are not the same person! However since that would be extremely difficult to do, I'd prefer them get a different actress (plus this way we could see some new talents)
What would ruin the story for me is if they recast anymore roles, namely Eustace Or if they took away from the emphasis on looking for Rilian.

Will is too good to replace. If they replace him I'll personally boycot the movie..
Anyway, what should the filmmakers know about the Silver Chair.. Dunno, the main things are been said in this topic. I think the difficulty of SC is that it's so dark and magical at the same time, and I hope the filmmakers will be able to capture both...
+ LOTGK = NOT the White Witch
What's everyone's problem with the WhiteWitch. I think it would be great moviewise to have her in a small, but vital role in The Silver Chair, especially since they have been teasing her return in the last two movies.
The Lady of the green kirtle could be chanelling the WhiteWitch through the Green Mist and getting guidance in the invasion of Narnia. This is the WhiteWitch's final attempt to return, but when the Lady in Green is killed, the WhiteWitch is destroyed. It would make it more intense and connect all the movies.
From that point on the future movies jump back and forth in time throughout Narnia's history.
The problem with the White Witch is that she's dead. Evil isn't dead, so Narnia sees many more evils than the WW. The Lady of the Green Kirtle is another incarnation of evil, but not that specific one which is the white witch. The LotGK channeling the WW is not a good idea for two reasons:
1: It would make Narnia seem a very narrow world indeed. Does evil ONLY come from the WW witch? I think we need to re-evaluate what makes evil. The devil, Satan, is evil. But saying that he is the source of all evil is giving him too much credit. Evil is good that has been twisted away from God. Evil is rebellion against God. Mankind can and has invented new evils for himself. No doubt the devil influences many of these things. In that sense they are "of the devil." But saying "the devil made me do it" is an age-old trope that seeks to take the blame off the perpetrator. The White Witch may or may not have been intended to represent Satan. She was meant to represent evil, but the point is that evil is more than just the WW.
2. It would take focus off the main thing about The Silver Chair: which is being able to recognize and remember Aslan even in the most dire circumstances and even when belief in him and reality is questioned. The point of the LotGK is that she is an enchantress: she wants to make people believe what she wants them to believe in acheiving her ends. The WW was more open. She tricked Edmund, but after that she didn't even bother to pretend. One of the most heart-wrenching moments in the LWW movie is when Edmund asks the WW for Turkish Delight after telling her where his siblings are. You can hear in his voice how foolish he now thinks himself for believing the witch.
Point is: both the White Witch and Lady of the Green Kirtle are evil. They need not be the same evil.

It isn't that we have a problem with her it's just that we are kind of getting tired of seeing her for 3 movies in a row when she is only in the 1st book.
The problem we have with her being in SC is that she has no role at all in the book, and definitely not a vital one.
And if they did bring her back that would be the most corny, cheesy thing the series had ever done(No offense).
There have been enough departures from the books in the series without bringing back a dead, overused witch that has been replaced with someone capable of being evil enough without help.

Narnia cast talks about saying goodbye
Quotes:
Asked if there’s a possibility that there may be more “Narnia” movies in his future, Ben quipped, “I approached the producers at the after party, after watching very carefully how many glasses of champagne they had. I made sure they had at least three before I broached the question. Caspian is a 70-year-old man, so either they’re going to have to bring Howard Berger (the series’ makeup artist) and his team and I’m going to wake up very early in the morning or they’ll get someone older.’
...
“But, after those aforementioned glasses of champagne, they were talking about maybe doing flashbacks, because in the last chapter of ‘Dawn Treader,’ Caspian and Lilliandil are getting married. There are few potential moments where we could do flashbacks, however.”
err...I thought there's more to Caspian in SC than just flashbacks?
Georgie, who is blossoming into a young lady, said, “I’m going to have to move on from the ‘Narnia’ franchise, because I’m not part of the next films anymore, which is a shame. But, all good things must come to an end. I would definitely like to continue acting. I also need to concentrate on school so as long as I can find balance. Then, hopefully, I’ll have a happy adolescence.
“There are some snippets of the Pevensies in some of the books as adults or young adults, so I’m not sure how it’s going to pan out,” she answered on the possibility of being cast again in the potential next installments of the franchise. “Maybe if the opportunity arose and I was approached, and the franchise does continue. Maybe I would consider coming back for a cameo.”
Georgie? Have you read the Last Battle yet?
You'll come back when they call you
No need to say goodbye
The Last Battle would be nothing more than two scenes, maybe three for Georgie. And only a few lines. But in HHB she has several scenes including a spectacular battle.
That there is a difference between a family film and a kids movie.
LWW was a family film, because it could be enjoyed by all age types, something the other two both lacked. That's part of why LWW was so successful and the other two don't come close. The other thing is to have more faith in the source, and don't make needless changes. When changes are made, they have to be subtle and faithful to the source.

The VDT is totally a family film, what was wrong in VDT that changed it from a family film?
