Valiant, that would be wonderful! I've always liked that little bit in the book. I kinda doubt it will be included in the movie, though... I think that's the kind of thing a director would find "Really neat, but ultimately, it was irrelevant and slowed down the story."

Yeah, it probably will end up being cut. Still, it would make a fantastic credits scene. Everyone drifting around the party and then Jill comes in wearing her Narnian clothes and everyone would be like, "That's Pole?" Sure, it's fluffy and not very important, but it is a nice little scene.
Maybe the movie could end with Eustace asking Jill to the dance. Then maybe they could end the film with them dancing in their narnian clothes.

Why should there be this happy looking party when Rilian's father just died? I admit a welcome back and coronation party should be in the film I just don't think it should be something Rilian should look and feel happy about or to have Eustace and Jill dancing, ekk. But that's just me.

Jill+Tirian! Let there be Jilrian!
The party is on Earth, Damsel. Some sort of school function, I think it was.
I bet everyone who saw that dress was jealous.
I think that more than anything, Aslan is important. We need to see that despite how Jill and Eustace mess up the signs, he still loves them and helps them. That has very powerful spiritual undertones.

The scene you described would indeed be perfect, Booky!
Maybe the movie could end with Eustace asking Jill to the dance. Then maybe they could end the film with them dancing in their narnian clothes.
But that would have heavy Jilstace overtones.

I think that they should stick to the relationship found in the book for Jill and Eustace. They should be friends.

What the Filmmakers should know about The Silver Chair
They should know that SC is my second favorite book (very close to VDT) and if they don't get it right, they can come here and find out why.
On a lighter note, I think that getting Jill's trip into Narnia is the key to the entire movie. I mean, floating on air for hundreds or thousands of miles isn't easy. Getting all the positions right that Jill will be in will be mind boggling.
And the landing, got to show the wave(s) hitting her and going through clouds and the coast approaching and Cair Paravel and the people and the boat for King Casipan all ready for its voyage. What a to do and Glimfeather too!
I'm having a little fun but at the same time, it is in the book and so why not make it an interesting journey?

There is definitely no "a" in definite.
The Mind earns by doing; the Heart earns by trying.
I want them to nail the part of Jills dream where the rolling horse comes to life at night... a rather dark part of the moviez

I am a Narnia Purist. Yeah, that might have slight overtones but I think the audience will think that Eustace should be with Jill even if they don't do that.(Or at least a lot of the girls will, some girls even like Digory and Polly together.)
But I still like the idea. Maybe, you could show that no one wants to dance with Jill and she is crying, (maybe not to that extreme) so Eustace dances with her. He is a good friend and would want to make her feel better.
One thing I am worried about in the Silve Chair is at the beginning where Aslan blows Jill and Eustace to Narnia. I think they film makers will have to be very careful about how they do this cause it can look really cheesy.
In LWW when Susan and Lucy ride Aslan as they fly to the WW castle, they modified this in the movie and I think that was a good decision. Maybe they can modify this somehow in the SC. Maybe a Griffin can fly them to Narnia. They used the Griffins in the LWW battle and in PC. they looked really cool and I liked their inclusion. Thoughts?
I think they might just skip it altogether and have them go straight to Narnia.

I actually had almost the same idea last week, except I was thinking that they could have Aslan be the griffin, and catch Eustace, and that the audience would see him change back but Eustace wouldn't. I agree though, I wouldn't mind if they modified this part- but I think it's important to show Aslan helping/rescueing them.

I dont see why Jill and Eustace going to a dance together has to be interpreted as romantic. I've seen several people go to homecoming as friends. Besides, the two are outcasts so I don't know who else they would go with to the dance.
