What actually happened to Lucy in the clip mentioned in the examiner and comingsoon.net articles? The author says she appears to be kidnapped by giants, but some on the thread for the article think that it could be something else.
The examiner article said,
Clip #3
While the Dawn Treader passengers are sleeping on a beach, Caspian wakes up and discovers that Lucy has disappeared. He alerts everyone, and they begin searching for her. It appears that Lucy has been kidnapped by two invisible giants that take her to a strange-looking garden and to an invisible house, where she finds the Book of Incantations. She has to read the spell that makes the unseen visible. Reciting the magical commands in the book, Lucy makes it snow inside the room. And after reciting the incantation to "be the beauty you always wanted to be," Lucy looks in a mirror and sees that her reflection has turned into Susan’s face.
The comingsoon.net article says,
At the second island, Lucy is kidnapped by "invisible giants" while everyone else is sleeping and they take her to an "invisible house" for her to find the Book of Incantations to turn things visible. We see Lucy in a jungle at doors standing on their own and looking inside, they lead to the interior of a large hall so Lucy walks inside and the doors close behind her, making it look as if there was nothing ever there.

So what do you think actually happened. You may pick one, do not pick what you want to happen, but what you think happens- although feel free to include in your explanation what you want to happen. I’ve given it some thought and here are some possibilities:
1 Lucy was actually kidnapped by invisible giants on the Magician’s Island
2 Lucy was actually kidnapped by invisible dufflepuds on the Magician’s Island
3 Lucy chose freely to go with the giants on the Magician’s Island, but it appears to the rest of the crew and the audience that she was kidnapped
4 Lucy chose freely to go with the dufflepuds on the Magician’s Island, but it appears to the rest of the crew and the audience that she was kidnapped.
5 Lucy chose to go freely with the giants on the Magician’s Island and the crew knows this, but it appears to the audience that she was kidnapped.
6 Lucy chose freely to go with the dufflepuds on the Magician’s Island and the crew knows this, but it appears to the audience that she was kidnapped.
7 This did not happen on the Magician’s Island
I personally believe it was option 4, that Lucy goes freely with the dufflepuds, but everyone else thinks she was kidnapped and here’s why:
The second article seems to say that she was kidnapped, but look closely at the first article- it says Caspian wakes up to find Lucy missing, so I think this disproves options 5 and 6. Also I believe that since the dufflepuds have big feet they were involved, but mistaken by the crew/audience to be giants- so goodbye options 1 and 3. Also since the invisible house and dufflepuds appear on Narnia.com at the Magician’s Island I think we can safely say that option 7 is out as well. That just leaves options 2 and 4, the only difference being whether or not she was kidnapped. I believe that she was not kidnapped, because nowhere there is evidence of here being restrained, whether in be on Narnia.com, or the trailers, or the clips that we have seen. I believe instead that Caspian wakes up, finds that Lucy is missing, wakes up everyone else and then comes to the conclusion that she has been kidnapped, then the clip cuts to Lucy exploring the house. If Lucy was really kidnapped, would the dufflepuds allow her to explore the house so freely? Wouldn’t we already see evidence of her being restrained? I think the director chose to make it appear like she was kidnapped to help get the audience glued, but in a later turn of events we learn that she really chose freely.

I chose option #2 because it would make sense (to me ) if she was kidnapped by the Dufflepuds!
in the book, the Dufflepuds say that the next person who lands on their island who has a girl couldn't leave until the girl had made them visible. so it would make sense if they kidnapped Lucy so that they could make her do what they wanted.

I think the one reviewer called them "invisible giants" because of the stomping sound the Dufflepud's one foot would make. The book even siad that they made loud noises as they hopped around. I do think that they kidnapped Lucy to add more drama, but i don't think they will be extremely aggressive in getting her to go into the Magician's House. Hopefully, she will volunteer to do this on her own.

It seemed fairly clear to me from what the articles said that the ships crew simply assumed she had been captured by "invisible giants" due to the heavy stomping, and large footprints.

I think so too. I think she went along voluntarily, or at least as voluntarily as she did in the book, where she went so the dufflepuds wouldn't kill them all.
What really confuses me is why they are sleeping on the beach in the first place. Shouldn't they be on the ship? Or perhaps it got so much damage during the storm (assuming they have kept it) that the Dawn Treader has grounded/sank in the harbor and they plan on trying to fix it in the morning?

I don't think the duffles will actually be giants. They do in a way force her to come because while she has a choice in a way they say come or we will kill them. I am not sure if that is a choice. I will wait and see.

I chose option 4, for the reason that Lucy goes with them because she doesn't want the others hurt. Although, that could be seen as kidnapping, depending on how you look at it. It makes a lot of sense if she is kidnapped, though. And I think the crew thinks they are giants, since they have such large footprints.

It would be great if it's #4, but I would be satisifed with it being #2 as well. I'm hoping these "giants" are just the invisible Dufflepuds (a bit of a mistaken identity for the VDT crew because of the giant, single footprints). It would be nice if Lucy follows the Dufflepuds on her own free will to save the others instead of being kidnapped and forced into saying the spell.

It's 4 or 2, most likely. I chose 4, because it makes the story more interesting, I think, to reveal that she did it of her own free will. Also, I just don't get the feeling from hearing about the scenes and watching some of the clips that she was kidnapped. Like someone said, I think we would have heard about it before now, or been shown footage, if she was kidnapped, because wouldn't they want to show action?
Also, I don't know how reliable it is, but the Narnia Characters website has this to say about Lucy:
She must endure temptation of her own when she valiantly agrees to say the magic spell that will make the dufflepuds visible.
Of course.. this could be taken from the book, but the stuff surrounding it comes from the movie, at least.

I just went back and read the book. You know, except that they never use the word kidnap, the Dufflepuds really do kidnap Lucy. They come right out and say that if the crew won't give them Lucy, they will be forced to cut their throats.
So personally, I'm totally okay with them kidnapping her. And I think that she is kidnapped.
^^^ I really don't like the idea that Lucy is forced into saying the spell. As others have pointed out, it takes away from the nobility of a heroic act. If she was forced( through being kidnapped) to say the spell, I think it loses all heroism. I believe it was glumPuddle that said it made her a reluctant hero, which, frankly, I don't like at all. I understand that in essence she's really doing it to save her own skin, but I still believe that she has some sort of choice to make....
I saw the movie....and was disappointed
Wow so far most people, have either gone for options two or three. After the Aslan's Country report- I started to lean more toward option two since they talk about her being "scared" as well, but on the thread for the screenings somre have brought up that there was an actual threat in the book (I'd quote it, but I thinbk I left mhy book at home) so perhaps she and the other crew were threatened as they were in the book, and the reviewers have equated that with basically being kidnapped. So at the moment I'm sticking with four, can't wait to see who was right.

I picked option 4...I'm sticking with the Dufflepuds
"Are you sure you're eighteen?"
"Why? Do I look older?"
I'm pretty sure it will turn out to be #2..
