Are you involved in a youthgroup/church, school, class, work environment where you have the opportunity to promote VODT, if so tell of your ideas to do so, or if your already doing something tell us what that is! Regular facebook updates? Organising a youthgroup/schoolgroup trip to see the film? or just spreading the word to everyone you know??? word of mouth is the best form of promotion, so POSITIVE promotion from true narnia fans will no doubt see VODT perform brilliantly, and see SC in a few short years.

So far, I've posted about any news that excites me on my Twitter and Facebook. I'm planning on writing a review for my Web site the day after I see VDT.

Um, living on this website and posting news stories? ;))

Will you promote VODT in a positive light to the best of your ability???

Oooh, this is a bit more of a tricky question. I think the best answer I can give is that I will promote it honestly. It depends on who I'm talking to as well. So if I'm talking with my book purist friends who don't like changes from book to movie, I'm probably going to tell them that they may not care for this movie (this is an example, gonna have to see more of the film before I determine that ;) ). But to an average movie goer buddy, I'll probably rave and rave about how awesome it's going to be and they have to go see it. ;)

I agree with fantasia_kitty for the most part, except I'd probably still encourage my book purist friends to go. I'm excited about VDT, but I don't know if I want to support it 100% yet. If Walden continues to make bad adaptations then I'm not sure I'd want to see their version of the SC. Still, I think I'll know whether or not I'm going to push the film after I see the trailer.

Well, when I see it opening weekend (in 2D ;) ) I'll probably take a few of my roommates with me. If the movie is good than I will definitely share my recommendation with my friends and colleagues through word of mouth, facebook, and twitter. If it's not a good movie then I would have to give it an honest review and probably couldn't in good conscience recommend it to people. Hopefully we won't have to worry about that though, and I don't think we will. :)

Yes, word of mouth is the ultimate determiner of success or failure. If it is positive and strong, it can overcome almost anything the movie had going against it. For example: poor or not enough promotion/marketing, bad posters/displays :-o , trailers, TV Spots, etc.

But the key will be if VDT will be a good enough movie to recommend and the odds are very good in that regard. And good, solid opening weekend will be more than enough to spread the word one way or the other.

So for now I keep my friends and relatives updated and once the movie comes out, if VDT is worthy I will tell everyone I can to see it and will mention it at church as well. And NarniaWeb is doing and will do its part too.

EDIT: Oh, and welcome to NarniaWeb LoveNarniaLive4God. Nice to have you and your enthusiasm here. :)

If VDT is good, I'll certainly promote it by talking about it with people.

When the trailer comes out (even though I won't be watching it myself) I'll post the link on my facebook account. I've already put a few VDT pics up there. I can't constantly be advertising that way though since my profile's main purpose is to talk with my friends.

I also like to comment on whatever news stories (besides N-web's) that come up about the film.

I can't say I'll promote it in the best, most positive light yet. I have to see it first. Trust me, I'm telling people about it all the time, but I can't say it's a really good movie until I've seen it, and then I have to tell what I honestly think of it, not just lie and say it's an awesome movies if I didn't like it at all, just so Walden makes money.

Word of mouth all the way. I won't lie. There are some things about it that irk me a bit but the pros outweigh the cons as far as I'm concerned. It's a Narnia movie and I loved the last two. I fully expect to love this one even more and everyone I talk to knows I'm really excited about it. :D

I have been talking with my youthgroup leader to get a youth night set aside to go and see the film, we have also together been in touch with several other youth leaders within our city to arrange a mass youthgroup, we have also been granted a private screening of The Dawn Treador if we can come up with the numbers to fill the cinema. so we've got another 6and a bit months to come up with 350aprox youth to attend, but with more and more youth groups singing on we might be able to make it two private screenings! its pretty exciting! (the reason for organising private screenings is that we are trying to organise it for the opening weekend, however we dont want to fill up too many sessions and stop others from seeing it by packing out the cinema... so we have been extremely lucky to have been alowed this...) our goal is to have every youth member bring atleast one extra friend, not only to see the film, but to expose them to the joy of being involved with a youthgroup, and through this encouraging them to also give church a try, and pray for thier salvation! CANT WAIT...

If you have a youth get them involved and try the ''bring a friend'' approach :)

I will do facebook and twitter updates and spread the word on how wonderful of a film it is. I will even talk about it at work. :P

I'm already promoting it on myspace and facebook. I discuss it a lot in my film class and did a slideshow of my favorite heroes in Humanities of a few Narnia characters, at the end everyone was asking me if I knew there would be another one and I told them all about VDT and its' release. They looked very excited about it and i had no idea there was a lot of Narnia fans at my college. i will say there is a lot. I'm going to see this movie everyday when it's out to help raise money.

Like others, I have Facebook links to various fan websites and whatnot, and created Google Map pages like The Voyage of the Dawn Treader: Filming Locations. :-B In various ways, the buzz is getting out there.

As for church, when I am able to go, I have found many I attend with have never read The Chronicles of Narnia and are unfamiliar with C.S. Lewis - so that is an education unto itself.

Word of mouth - very important.

Ditto what fantasia_kitty said about book purists. Best altogether leave the subject alone with the purist. [-( Beyond that, it is going to be a good movie - I have no doubt about that and will encourage folks to see it.

“Safe?” said Mr. Beaver; “don’t you hear what Mrs. Beaver tells you? Who said anything about safe? ‘Course he isn’t safe. But he’s good. He’s the King, I tell you.”

I'm a bit bothered by the way you've phrased this. You seem almost to be saying that we have to tell people VDT is good whether we like the film or not. Maybe I'm misunderstanding you here? :- If VDT sucks, I'm not going to give it positive promotion even if it hurts SC's chances of being made. This is Walden's third shot at getting it right. If they screw up VDT, I think it's safe to say that they won't get SC right either.
