I hope that if they are going to change the Island order or amount that they combine them rather than getting rid of any Islands!!!!!

^^I'm pretty sure that's what consolidated means. They squished the seven islands in to five.
It seems obvious the two islands they are removing are Burnt and deathwater.
If I remember correctly, all that happened on Burnt island was Reep getting his coracle. There isnt much special about that island itself so it can be moved into another island.
As for deathwater, it actually is a good idea to combine it with Dragon island. It would be annoying in the movie to see them constantly stopping the voyage to visit an island, only for one big event to happen, then leave. Also the theme of Deathwater and Dragon island are very similar. The consequences of greed. Greed turned Eustace into a dragon, and greed caused one of the lords to turn into stone.
Ramandu's island obviously won't get cut, or the Lone islands, or the Dufflepuds. And truth be told, I also never thought of "Dark Island" as a literal island. I thought it was just blackness.
Winter Is Coming
^^I agree. Those are probably the two they'll cut.
We can surely say that the lone islands (we've seen the sets), dufflepud island (some dufflepuds were cast), and ramandu's Island (to important to leave out of the film) are all included in the film. I think the filmmakers would leave in dark Island, because they can make it scary, so it is different than the other ones. Also, Bruce Spence has been cast as Rhoop, and he has the looks for someone who has been living in a nightmare for years. I'm not sure about dragon island though. There will be a dragon, but by shifting it to the end, the filmmakers have raised a lot of questions. Maybe he will transform on another island, or not on an Island at all.
It's pretty sure to say that they will leave out burnt island, because it's not important to the story and it's only mentioned briefly.
It's a shame deathwater island might be left out, but I think we could have seen that coming. After all, the only really important thing, considering the story, that happens there is the finding of one of the seven lords.
I guess these are the islands in the movie:
Lone Islands
Dragon Island
Dufflepud Island
Dark Island
Ramandu's Island
Based on Tirian's report yesterday, here are five islands we have evidence of being in the movie.
Lone Islands (lots of footage and pictures)
Goldwater (footage seen by Tirian)
Dragon Island (seen one set picture and we know Eustace turns into a dragon)
Dufflepud Island (seen lots of pictures and heard of lots of set reports)
Ramandu's Island (heard reports from Douglas Gresham and saw concept art)
That's five.
Well the Deathwater (why is everyone calling it Goldwater?) scene could be on Dragon island.
Or maybe they don't even consider the Dark Island an island. I hope this is the case because I'd much rather see the Dark Island then the Deathwater Island.
Winter Is Coming
I have a hard time believe they've done away with Dark Island. Like others have said, perhaps it is not longer an island, just a blackness in the middle of the ocean that they are drawn into.
I still think two of the islands you mentioned fantasia_kitty will be combined to make room for Dark Island.
Check out "The Magician's Nephew" and "The Last Battle" trailers I created!

I certainly think that the Deathwater island is more interesting then the Dark island. If that is the choice they made then i think they made the right choice. There is a lot more interesting character development on Deathwater then anything at all on the Dark island.
I am sort of glad they cut some of the islands because i still sort of feel like this book is all over the place. I know this film is going to be so different though. I just hope they get the important parts and don't mess too much with the theology.

It is entirely possible that you're right FriendofNarnia2. I mean, the Dark Island itself I can see being cut, except that they got an awesome actor (and one of the few I actually knew when he was announced!) to be Lord Rhoop, and I can't see him anywhere else in the movie, other than the emaciated guy that comes out of the Dark Island.
Tis a mystery, but we shall see.

To be quite honest with you, I suspect it's because the production is going to try to avoid spoilers as to what happens there. They were the ones that called it Goldwater.

^^ that would make sense if they put Deathwater on Dragon Island!
they have to do the dark Island! how else will they find lord Rhoop?

Roop could just be thrown in somewhere else. That is the only thing that happens on the Dark island. They find Roop. They could also have a place of darkness on one of the other islands and find Roop there.

^^ good point! maybe they could find Rhoop on Dragon Island!

^^that would not be a good thing. I want to see the Dark Island. I'm hoping they don't skip that part just to make it a family movie. It's one of the most "feeling" places in the whole book, if you catch my meaning.
I hope they don't skip the Dark Island scene to make the movie more accessable to families.
Aside from Aslan's line at the end of the book/film, this sequence is what I wanted to see most.
