I was very perplexed upon seeing the water nympth waving her hands frantically waving and telling Lucy and the crew of the Dawn Treader not to go on. At least, I assume she was trying to prevent them from heading towards Dark Island....
If this was the case, I don't understand why it was necessary. I mean, all the characters were already fearing Dark Island after Coriakin explained what it would do to them, and I see no reason why they needed to add this scene. Does anyone else have any other ideas or thoughts?!?

Personally I would have preferred to see some of the mermaids from LWW, rather than the water nymphs, but I think that misses your point- I guess the water nymph was just used to create a sense of foreboding, heading towards the dark island. Maybe it didn't look scary enough?
i think the nymph was trying to tell Lucy not to tell anyone about her, like Drinian told her in the book, though this explaination makes no sense because its so misplaced and has no value to the movie whatsoever
no longer active. every once in a while ill pop back for the memories. good to see a few recognizable names 🙂
She was warning about either the dark island or the 'unnatural calm' of the wind that was suspected to be the green mist or something.

I have a theory about this scene in this topic: http://forum.narniaweb.com/viewtopic.php?f=25&t=2370
Winter Is Coming
Yeah, i too wish the mermaids were shown. I mean, the water nymphs are alright, i guess, but the mermaids would probably have been a bit better.

I agree, the nymphs from VDT just look like some kind of glass figurine, the mermaids looked a lot more real. And I do think the nymphs warning was kinda random. And what ever happened to Lucy seeing the sea king and queen on seahorses.
