[Closed] VDT Poster

For Prince Caspian, there was first the poster of Caspian holding a sword and the horn with Aslan, Miraz'c castle, the Pevensies in the bottom right corner, and the Telmarine army at the bottom left. Then there was the second official poster of Caspian with Aslan, the Pevensies more prominently on the left, the River God, Reepicheep, etc. All we have right now for Voyage of the Dawn Treader is the poster of Aslan's face and Reepicheep on the movie logo. Am I correct in assuming that there will be another official movie poster that will better-suit the feel of the movie?!?

I have no experience with Fox. This is the first movie of theirs that I've followed so I don't know how they usually do posters. They have released more banners (which you may or may not have seen) and one is even in the shape of a poster.

When Fox sent us the hi-rez picture of the poster, it was called a teaser poster. That leads me to believe that at the time, they had plans to release another poster later.

Hmmm.... that certainly wouldn't be my first choice for a poster. That's the one that features the Dawn Treader with an orange sail. I would prefer something that is more closely related to the theater stand, but not as misleading. Anyway, thanks for the help fantasia_kitty! :)

I hadn't icarus, thanks for pointing that out! If that first black and white sketch were to be an official poster, I would actually be very pleased!

I do like the "orange sail" poster much better. I don't like the orange sail, but we know it's not orange anyways, so nothing to worry about. Anyways, that's a MUCH better poster than the teaser or the Cannes stand-poster.

I think that the simple "orange sail" poster doesn't confuse people as much as the theater stand did. Sometimes less is more, and the more intricately designed theater stand nearly confused people more than it did inform them of the upcoming movie.

I liked the "orange sail" poster alot more than the theater one. The theater one loos unfinished and is so confusing. I was expecting Fox to make a really nice poster, but all we get is that one X(. Oh well, hopefully they will make another one.

That poster would be great as a poster for the whole series when they are done all the movies (given Reepicheep is removed.) It reminds me of the cover for the one volume book edition of the Chronicles of Narnia (all the stories in one book.) (I can't find the image sorry.)

But if that is all for Dawn Treader then thats disappointing. Each book has its own feel and the so should the movie. Therefore the poster should as well. I have a feeling Fox wasn't ready and threw this together for the time being. They hopefully will come out with something else. Something that includes the Dawn Treader and water! Like snow is promininent in LWW, water should be big in VDT, lol.

I too always thought that a wave of water or something should make a border, or at least make a border, or something. Water should definitely be a big part of the poster!

I hope the next poster has pictures of the characters on it -- including Eustace (he definitely needs more attention during marketing, and in the movie itself.)
And no fake CGI minotaurs... :p

The next poster (this goes for a trailer too) should have less of the creatures and more prominently, the five main characters: Caspian, Lucy, Edmund, Eustace, and Reepicheep (particularly Eustace). I think the minotaurs are always shown to remind people of the first two films.
