I know that this has nothing to do with VDT, but that taco truck thing is just awesome. :))

AC-er Cyclops got confirmation from Fox yesterday = no VDT at Comic-Con. And a NarniaWebber confirmed this at the Fox booth.

At the same time, I’m not gonna worry about Fox’s marketing. I'm not sure what to think about Comic-Con but if Fox's strategy is different and has worked in the past (i.e. Avatar), then okay. Besides, I think everyone will know about VDT by Christmas. Word of mouth? National media/news? Who knows what will happen between now and December? :)

I kind of expected Fox not to invest as heavily in chasing the male 18-35 demographic that Disney tried so desperately to attract on Prince Caspian to limited success, and to instead concentrate on the core market that made LWW such a success - i.e. young children and families. So yeah, i can deal with the lack of a Narnia Panel or any major promotional push, but to not even have a single measly poster at their floor stand? That is really disappointing.

Hopefully Narniajewel, or anyone else who went, will be able to provide some interesting reports on the Production Designers and/or Costume Designers panels, to at least give us Narnia fans something to get excited about. Marketing wise though, it sounds like this years comic-con was a total bust for Narnia.

Reading some of the comments by people who went to Comic-Con in the comments section (NarniaJewel, GPLovesNarnia) of the news story, and it sounds pretty embarrasing how little the people on the Fox and HarperCollins stands at Comic-Con even knew about Narnia... and yet in the very first report i've managed to find on that Production Designers panel i see the phrase "including some breathtaking glimpses of the new Narnia "Dawn Treader" movie" pop up. Did those people just not go to the panel?

Hmm...I wonder where these breathtaking glimpses were at? It's kind of strange this is the only reference we have of VDT stuff at Comic-Con.

Check out "The Magician's Nephew" and "The Last Battle" trailers I created!

Some friends of mine who were at Comic-Con also told me they saw absolutely nothing regarding Narnia. So I guess that was that.

As I've said before, I'm sure Fox has a strategy in mind and decided not to promote VDT at this event for whatever reason. But no sense making yourselves uneasy over it. Fox still has plenty of opportunities for marketing.

Peter: I hunch.
Mary Jane: Don't.

So apparently VDT is making some sort of appearance at Movie-Con this weekend in London. I haven't been able to find anymore information other than this.

You know, I am very severely tempted to. Tickets are officially sold out, but then it isn't all that hard to get tickets to these sort of things when you know where to look. Bound to be plenty of people who bought tickets but now can't make it for whatever reason.

Annoyingly i thought about getting tickets a while ago before they were sold out, but given that Fox didn't even bother to send a single thing to Comic Con, i doubted there was even a chance anything would show up here. lol.

At the very least i'll go wander over that way at the weekend and see if there isn't anything to be seen without a ticket. Already planned my weekend trip to Cornwall in a few weeks time though - Dawn Treader Ahoy!! :D

Well, now we know it's footage they'll be showing. But who knows if it's new footage or not...

I tried really hard to get a ticket to attend the event, and were it not for the incompetence of the mail delivery system in bringing said ticket to me, i would of been there, but alas it was not to be. Empire did upload a transcript of an interview with Ben Barnes and Michael Apted (and perhaps also Mark Johnson is there at one point it seems to suggest).

They didn't reveal much in the way of newness though. I was kinda hoping that they might of used the event to possibly announce Ramandu or Harold or Alberta - working from the assumption that they may have cast well known British stars in the roles, it might of proved to be the appropriate time and place to do so - but evidently nothing on the subject came up.
