Today, I got new Japanese VDT movie flyers(leaflet / CHIRASHI) and VDT movie booklets.
The booklet is an extra issue of a theater's(TOHO CINEMAS) free magazine.
It has an interview with Skandar, Georgie and Will P.
Except a picture of them, there is nothing new in it for me.
That is some nice stuff you got there PeaceAndLove. I've been generally quite impressed with a lot of the promotional stuff that's been coming out of Japan and the other East Asian countries - they always seem to get the more interesting and visually unique promotional materials, compared with the rest of the world where we tend to get just translated versions of the same designs.
Anyway, here is another poster from Japan:

Wow! Lots of great stuff getting spread around. That's wonderful. And thanks for all the updates icarus! I'd been wanting a close up of the Pevensies on that new poster for ages!
PeaceAndLove, thanks for sharing all that neat stuff.

Steve Rooke (Nausus the faun in the film) posted this on his Fan Page today. I thought it was pretty cool.

Two interesting promotions featured in todays Sun newspaper here in the UK.
The first was an advert for tomorrows Sun, in which they will be starting a token collect promotion for a free "Narnia Xmas Pack". Essentially it seems to be an amalgamation of various bits and pieces we have seen in various "Goodie Bag" competitions in the past few weeks, but it looks pretty nice. Last christmas they did a similar Avatar token collection promo which came with a really sweet Avatar messenger bag (designed in the style of the AVTR bags featured in the movie), and i really regret not ordering more than the one i got, so i might have to try and put in for a few of the VDT ones this time around - though at first glance there doesn't seem to be anything as awesome as the Avatar bag was, though i'll have to wait untill tomorrow to find out the exact contents of the set.
The second thing was an advert for tomorrows Times (which incidentally, like The Sun and 20th Century Fox, is also a NewsCorp owned media outlet), which has a free "giant activity poster" in tomorrows saturday edition. Hopefully it will be something high quality and glossy, though it could just as likely be a pull-out made from the same paper as the newspaper itself.

TV spot shown during Happy Feet on ABC last night. Not really new footage but kind of a different mix from the TV spots that have already been reported.
Yes, all this is very well. I'm sure tv spots are fine. I actually saw advertisements for VDT on television myself, yesterday, even though the TV set is not set for my viewing.
But why exactly can't I get a nice 2011 calendar for Voyage of the Dawn Treader? I want one, I need one, and and I'm prepared to buy it. A 2011 diary would be nice as well to keep track of expenses and future engagements and is probably not too expensive to produce. I can get Twilight products and Harry Potter calendars. There are Twilight t-shirts being sold outside our local movie theatre. So why not even one calendar for Narnia? A model of the ship would be cute as well.
Does anyone know if McDonalds is doing a happymeal tie in? I'm to old for those, but I thought it would be great publicity.
I mentioned back on page 1 of this thread that 20th Century Fox and McDonalds had signed a global partnership agreement last year running through to this year which has seen Happy Meal tie-ins for most big recent 20th Century Fox children/family movie releases such as Ice Age, Night at the Museum and Alvin and the Chipmunks. However there has yet to be any announcement on any promotional tie in with VDT and McDonalds.
The current HappyMeal promotion displayed on the official website updated on Friday to Transformers/Hello Kitty, and the next promotion is currently set to be Bakugan/Only Hearts Pets. If both of those promotions were to run for only 1 week each, then it would open up the possibility of VDT coming in for Decemeber 10th, but since i believe most Happy Meal promotions last for much longer than that, it seems unlikely to me. However, i'd keep an eye on the official website, just in case.

As for the possibility of calendars or other such merchandise, that also seems unlikely to me. I'm not exactly sure why, but there has been pretty much zero merchandise on this movie so far, and i don't expect that to suddenly change in the next two weeks before the movie comes out. I think its partly due to Fox wanting to run a tighter ship on this movie and not indulge in such a vast and ultimately costly licensing programme as Disney did on Prince Caspian, but also no doubt because most vendors weren't that interested in picking up the Narnia license given that much of the Prince Caspian merchandise didn't sell particularly well - Fox were reported to have made significant efforts to attract licensees at several of the big licensing trade shows, but evidently that did not pay off.
Are there posters around? I could always get one of them and look for one of those EZE2Read calendars and attach it. Or I could make my own from any pictures I could find. It wouldn't be a breach of copyright since I would be making such a calendar for my own use.
Of course since there is a certain relationship between Fox and Newscorp here, there might be one in the offing, after all, wrapped up in the daily fishwrap. I can still hope that might happen, can't I?
Still, McDonald toys would almost guaruntee more kids seeing the film.
Winter Is Coming
Yeah i agree. It seems like fox has given up on promoting this franchise. They figure that either fans will come or not. I have met people who love LOTR and told me they love the first two Narnia's but had no clue the were coming out with a third. So Fox needs to get it's act together and get the word out.
In the Colorado Parent magazine they had a small picture of Reepicheep on the front corner of the cover and inside they had a page that looked exactly like this poster:

An AC version of the new theatrical poster for Dawn Treader is in Colorado Parent magazine?! Do you have a mag scan for them? Or a website?
