I also loved what Caspian said, it is the first hint we get at that they are looking for the lost seven lords :D ;) :) I was really happy about that :p Overall a great trailer!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

My only guess thus far on the shot of Lucy disappearing into a mysterious "Portal" in the Magician's garden: Coriakin's house has also been made invisible, and she just stepped into it.

That is an interesting idea. Isn't there a shot on Narnia.com of Edmund, Caspian, and some of the crew in Coriakin's garden with spears around them? Maybe the Dufflepuds hold them there while Lucy goes on ahead into the house?

More thoughts on the book scene: In the bit with the snow it looks like Lucy has only just opened the book. And I don't see the ripped page.

I wonder if that means the book reacts twice - once after she says the snow spell and once after she rips the page? That would explain why there is snow in the picture when she slams her hand down on the book. :-

Interesting theory. So maybe the book starts flipping after she says a spell? Or is it maybe trying to lead her to the spell she's supposed to say but she gets distracted by other spells?

Other random thoughts: Caspian sounds much better, but Eustace is only in one shot (and you can't really tell it's him because he's underwater).

About the Narnia.com shot of the crew holding up their swords, I assumed that was them confronting the invisible Dufflepuds. Who wouldn't hold a sword up to a speaking, invisible creature?

I assumed that as well, but I don't remember seeing Lucy in that shot.

Oh my, tons of Lucy! ;)) I just don't know what to think anymore... "This just keeps getting weirder and weirder" is just too appropriate. Or maybe, "All that you know is about to change."

While it looks like it might be the case that Coriakin's house is invisible, that might not even be possible to do. How would Lucy know where to go?

I am very puzzled to see the shot of the four Pevensies again. And I still can't tell where they are. There's a flag on the right side of the picture, which makes me think it might be something at Cair Paravel after all.

That was cool to wake up to a new trailer this morning. :D Can't wait to see the hi-rez version (if ever). By the way, I merged a bunch of comments from the first trailer thread onto this one, so sorry if it looks funny.

The boulders in the background of the Pevensie shots do look a bit like the Moeraki boulders which we've seen on the Movie World Set Tour and in one of the recent Website Game Concept Art Pieces.

It also looks like their thrones at Cair Paravel behind them... burned? I'm leaning more and more towards this being somebody's nightmare. It's such a strange set.

I agree with Adeona that the portal in the Magician's garden would seem to suggest that Coriakin's house is invisible at the beginning.

As do I. Interesting choice made by the director to include the house being invisible, but I don't necessarily dislike it. :)

How would Lucy know where to go?

The Dufflepuds open the door for her would be my guess.

I still don't like the fact that they have Ramandu's Daughter going back and forth from star form to humanoid since it entirely scraps the Narnian star mythology, but at least this transformation looks more natural and less Star Trek.

Let me know when you find in the book where it says definitively that she's a half-star and I'll be ok with your comment here. ;) I have no problem with her being a star. Lewis never says she isn't one. What I won't like (if they do this) is her reappearing over several different islands besides Ramandu's Island. But as icarus pointed out, it looks like she IS appearing on Ramandu's Island in this shot because you can just barely see the table with food. :)

I enjoyed the music in this trailer a lot! Does anyone know for sure that it is the work of David Arnold?

I doubt it, he just started working on it a few weeks ago.

I was so glad to hear Caspians voice, but you do not see him

Actually, you do. He's the one hanging onto Lucy when they're pulled out of the sea onto the ship. ;) Unless you don't want to count a shot of his back. ;))

Pleasantly surprised I didn't notice the loss of the accent until you all pointed it out to me on here. ;))

I think my only real complaint about this trailer was that it debuted on a DVD very few people will watch/rent. :)) But somebody found it in the end so it's all good!

This is a very pleasant surprise. :D

One thing I'm curious about, is that if Coriakin's house looks like at all like the concept art we got a peek at (I'd link, but the news site says the pictures have been removed :( ), then how in the world would it fit amongst all the shrubbery which is nearby Lucy's random door-of-light and steps-of-grass.

This just gets weirder and weirder! (sorry, couldn't resist ;)) )
In the first trailer the part where the book reacts (flipping pages) it does not have snow. Pictures found on this page at spareoom.net In the 2nd trailer in does have snow. Picture located here. I wonder if that means the book reacts twice - once after she says the snow spell and once after she rips the page? That would explain why there is snow in the picture when she slams her hand down on the book. :-

I'm guessing the book flips twice, or else the CG just wasn't done the first time around, which seems less likely. I did notice though that in the first trailer when Lucy slams her hand down, there are some tiny flakes of snow (which I think is what you're referring to, never noticed it before), and the hand slam does appear to be on the beauty spell. So it seems to go: say the snow spell, pages start flipping, Lucy stops the flipping on the beauty spell, Lucy looks in magical book mirror, maybe says spell, Lucy rips out pages, book flips again. Possibly?

This is more of a long TV spot, but it's definitly an improvement over the first trailer.

The shot of Lucy walking down the hall, and her POV shot, is just awesome! Finally, footage from the movie I can point at and say "I love the direction they're going with this scene."

Maybe I have a bad ear for accents, but Caspian's accent didn't sound all that different to me.

Interesting. For some reason this one doesn't work as well for me as the first one, but it might be because it is shorter. I also got that little annoyed twitch in my eye when Caspian is talking about lost souls, until I thought maybe he was talking about freeing the slaves on the Lone Islands. That would work for me. The accent is nice, though it honestly took me until the second time around to realize it was Caspian - though I didn't notice the change in accent!

I agree with what someone else has said, that the four thrones makes me think more and more that having all Four Pevensies is part of a dream, or some sort of other vision or memory. There's no way there would be a random four thrones on a random island along the journey. Though it would be much easier to accept as a dream if Lucy and Edmund weren't wearing their Voyage clothes.

Somehow, though, I thought the effects for Aslan got *worse* in this trailer, particularly in the scene with Lucy. I liked Reepicheep, though.

I'm feeling a bit more optimistic now, thank you. It seems to be a good sign that we're supposed to think of Aslan before we think of Narnia. :)

No comment on the effects. It looks like a movie to me. :p

I'm leaning more and more towards this being somebody's nightmare.

If the nightmare island shows up after Goldwater, I could see it being Caspian's... :- But why? Are they going to play up Edmund being a king that much? Or, is Caspian that insecure? Or is there another explanation for someone dreading the four of them showing up together?

I was thinking the Dark Island myself. I'm of the personal belief that the White Witch is not tempting Edmund, but Edmund reliving his nightmare from LWW when she tempted him then. And that's all they are... nightmares. There's no rational thought behind nightmares. However, after thinking about it more, if this IS a nightmare from the Dark Island, it's sure presented different (ie no green smoke).

There's no way there would be a random four thrones on a random island along the journey.

Ah but there is. I just posted my brand new theory on the other thread dedicated specifically to this scene, but I'll copy a part of it over here.

"I have a brand new idea after studying that picture. Lucy mentions in the book that the Pevensies have visited the Lone Islands when the four of them ruled Narnia. Perhaps it's a makeshift throne area for the Kings and Queens of Narnia on the Lone Islands? "

I've no real comment on the CGI in this trailer as the quality of the uploads aren't super fantastic. But as far as I can tell, it's shaping up to look on par with the CGI of PC. So if you liked the CGI in that movie, you're probably good to go. ;)

That was a great trailer! When I came on to NarniaWeb today and saw the announcement about the trailer, I got really excited! It was sweet to see Lucy in the Magician's house, and the snow falling reminded me so much of LWW! I don't know how I'll make it waiting for it to come to theatres! :D

I'm a bit curious about the building with the stain-glass lamposts and lion heads. Is that supposed to be in Cambridge? :-

Aslan looked terrible in PC, but i think that was more because he looked different. His face was too long. Reep at least still looks the same in VotDT as how he looked in PC.

Ahhh, Caspian says the S-word we've all been fearing!

When i read this i thought you meant Caspian said Susan and i had to listen to it again. I am a little more worried about what if anything Caspian will say about Susan. The whole lost souls thing is very odd though. Sounds a lot like the script.

Susan has her bow in that shot it is in her quiver like she always carries it.

So do you think that is Caspian's stirring speech right before the battle of the dark island? Think of the lost souls. Think of Aslan. Think of Narnia.

At first I thought, "meh," this isn't that great. But it's definitely growing on me! Some of the CGI looks just plain awful -- Reepicheep and Aslan look very unfinished. But the shot of Lucy going into the invisible doorway gave me chills...

And the music! I loved the music. If anyone can figure out where it's from, do tell!

I think "souls" could easily refer to what it does in any seafaring sense of the word - an individual(s) lost at sea.
