I almost feel likethey should just go for it, I mean the undragoning scene had to be scaled down because of the rating having to be PG. I don't want that to happen again. I know that if they tried to get a PG rating on LB a lot of things would be left out. I want them to work on making the movie a good adaptation for the book not changing the movie to get a PG rating.
I agree, rating systems have seemed to let a lot more and in other cases a lot less slide in rating films. Little Fockers was rated PG-13, and let me tell you, take my word for it, that movie should have most definitely been rated R.
"I'm a beast I am, and a Badger what's more. We don't change. We hold on. I say great good will come of it... And we beasts remember, even if Dwarfs forget, that Narnia was never right except when a son of Adam was King." -Trufflehunter
Well, yes, that tends to happen with the higher-rated movies but I seriously believe, that in general, PG movies today can't have much content as they did in years past.
Currently watching:
Doctor Who - Season 11
I feel the MPAA is becoming more lenient with the sexual content and swearing that can be put in PG and PG-13 films. But as far as violence goes, I think they are much stricter then they were during the 80s and 90s.
And since Silver Chair's only real concern is a dark tone and violence, giving it a PG-13 rating would only help it stay more faithful to the book. Its not like they are going to over sexualizse the Lady of the Green Kirtle and have Puddlglum cuss throughout the movie.
Winter Is Coming
Yeah absolutely!
And as I see it, Narnia is so popular that it will always be gaining fans, but the older fans that have grown up with Narnia films will be older now and may want a darker edge to Silver chair which is how I think the Silver Chair sould be.
Narnia is childhood...
Seriously, just give the kid the orange. He needs his vitamin C!
