June...AHHH... It's bad enough that the movie won't be out until december, maybe some small behind the scenes clip?

I don't think we will have to wait until June for a trailer.....maybe one will come out in April or May!
I am hoping for a behind the scenes clip soon!

Okay, here are the different films I think a trailer could possibly be attached to:
May 7th - Iron Man 2
May 21st - Shrek Forever After
May 28th - Prince of Persia
June 18th - Toy Story 3
June 30th - The Twilight Saga
July 9th - Despicable Me
I personally think the first trailer will be released with Toy Story 3, although, as others have mentioned, behind the scenes footage is due anytime now.
How many months before the release date did we get the first Prince Caspian footage?

Whew, we're going way off topic here, (don't worry, I"m including myself in the blame ) but I'll answer your question FriendofNarnia2 before yelling at everybody to get back on topic.
The first footage we saw of Prince Caspian was seen in Production Blog #5, which was released in July 2007... 10 months before the movie was released.
According to my brother, who is very savvy on what trailers are attached to what movies, Iron Man 2 WILL have at least a teaser for VDT.

I love your play on the words "seasoned" and "salt" .
Thanks. I wondered if anyone would notice.
I really want more details and think we could have a few more without it spoiling much. I don't think it would hurt for us to know if consolidated means "cut" or "combined" and how that will play out generally of course. Considering how panicky and confused we have been about Gael, I don't think a few details about her would hurt either.
True, though I think Tirian himself was only shown what he told us was there. I think, when he said he didn't want to spoil it for us, he meant that he didn't want to overly-describe the scenes for us, thus ruining our movie experience with his interpretation/opinion.
I don't think he's holding out on some huge conspiratorial secret, but who knows .
I don't think he was necessary shown more but he was told more. His report states: "He described the five islands, where we’ll see them, and what will happen on each one." From that I conclude that he has the answer to the first question. I don't expect him to tell us what will happen on each island (as much as I would like to know), but I would like to know the meaning of "consolidated." Maybe we could play hot or cold with some of the guesses about how the islands could be handled. When he talked about seeing interactions between Lucy and Gael, I assumed that it included dialog but I now I realize that it might not have or might have been nothing of interest. He is clearly holding some things back (which of course is his right) but if he isn't telling us a "huge conspiratorial secret" that would be because he was told not to tell. Actually, if the report had said something along the lines of "I'm only allowed to say so much," I wouldn't mind as much not getting more details.

As far as us seeing footage goes I'm sure we'll get something, though it be small before the trailer comes out. Also I don't think the trailer would be on Toy Story 3 because isn't that a Disney movie? Not that I'm savvy on these kind of things. Also don't they announce the day the trailer comes out? fantasia_kitty when did they announce the PC trailer was coming online?

Well, I remember that LWW first came out with Star Wars, which is a Fox film. So I guess you could say, VDT being in front of TS3 would be sort of the opposite of what happened to LWW.
Anyway, back on topic. For now I am satisfied with knowing the fact that Tirian liked what he saw.

It was publicly announced that the trailer would be released for PC on Nov 29, 2007. The trailer was released on Dec 7, 2007.
Now, I just started a new thread for you all to go discuss the VDT trailer release...
Paul McCusker from Focus on the Family, whom Tirian met at the event in LA, posted his thoughts on what he saw as well.
Late last week I was privileged to attend a "Voyage of the Dawn Treader" event at Fox Studios in Los Angeles. ... They talked about their desire to get this picture back to the sensibilities of "The Lion, The Witch & The Wardrobe," to recapture the "magic" and get away from the action-adventure-teen-heart-throb approach of "Prince Caspian." They also acknowledged the difficulties of bringing the story to the screen, since the book wasn't easily conducive to a film's structure. Yes, changes have been made, but those changes are expected to be in keeping with the spirit of the book.
You can read the whole two paragraphs here.
Well that was actually encouraging to read. To get away from the action-adventure-teen-heart-throb approach of Prince Caspian. Thank goodness. I don't think i am ever going to get over the fact that Susan and Caspian kissed. Ah, what would have been.
There are no clouds in the sky. There is only the open sun and the Lord watches.
Thank you, Fantasia Kitty! That brings me a ton of relief. I think all of us had that worry somewhere in the back of our minds--that VDT would just be another "action-adventure-heart-throb" movie (I love that term, by the way ). I think that's part of the reason PC was such a major flop. If they had taken a more spiritual approach, like the way they did in LWW, they probably would have done much better in the box office.
(By the way, decarus I think we all feel your pain about the "Susan/Caspian" thingamajig. Hopefully they patch all of that mess up in VDT).

The teaser trailer was posted online a few days before December 7 - on Tuesday December 4, to be exact. Then the actual trailer came out April 22, 2-3 weeks before release (sigh), and the super-trailer was released after the movie came out.
The first place I saw the teaser was some tabloid entertainment show. I should have known then that the marketing plan was off its rocker. The way Disney handled trailers was just strange. I saw a movie one week before PC came out in theaters and it they were still playing the teaser.
So... yeah... I honestly don't know why I typed 7 because it was definitely the 4th. Maybe I mistyped or something... but you're right. It was Dec 4, 2007. Sorry about that.
By the way, this is just mincing words, but that technically wasn't a teaser trailer according to the production. It was the official trailer.
