Didn't they already say that they removed the idea of Eustace "earning" his undragoning because they were made aware of the theological problems it presented? Pretty sure I read that a while back.
They did say this, but i am not sure that they in fact did what they said they did. If they don't actually get it then i am not sure that they are going to get it right.

For those of you concerned about the lack of a cave, I'm pretty certain there is one still.... We have two pictures from what I'm positive are the Deathwater/Dragon Island set(s) from MovieWorld.
Here's the shot from the front of one. It's pretty obvious this is the canyon becoming more and more narrow with lots of gold on the ground.
From above, you can see this set goes quite a ways back in. And the part I've circled is a completely enclosed space at the end of the canyon. I can't think of anything else that could possibly be besides a cave.
I'm not 100% sure they're the same set though I THINK they are. But I'm sure sure they're at least meant for the same island. The shot from above looks like the same barren rock formation walls and whatnot.
I thought the editing on Eustace's fall (of the ledge) in clip 2 was poor editing as well. I saw that in my very first viewing of the clip, so its fairly obvious. I'm sure they'll fix it up though.

I am so happy with Will Poulter's performance as Eustace! he's amazing! he's perfect for Eustace!
does anyone know what Edmund said in the first clip when he turns to look at Eustace? I mean the part right after Eustace says the bit about the kind of books Edmund and Lucy read.

One thing I've repeatedly noticed when reading about VDT is that people say they reach Aslan's country at the end. (Caspian reaching Aslan's country cause he's in the rowboat with them). Why do people get this idea? The only one who reaches Aslan's country at this point is Reepicheep, the others only get to the end of the world (Narnia). Or am I seriously missing something ?
Anyways, I like the clips and where the direction of the film is going.

What I find really interesting at 5.5 seconds is the rock. I can't decipher what the shadow on the right side of the screen is, but it does look like the rock is moving up and down, or more accurately, like the rock has been digitally erased and the background replaced a little in each frame so that to us the rock appears to be moving. Generally they do this sort of thing in post-production right before they add in a digital creature. And notice that Eustace is looking in that direction when the clip begins.
At first I thought it was someone's cloak being blown in the wind. I'm not familiar with the process you are describing, but it sounds possible. Maybe whatever they were trying to add in digitally was not finished, or, perhaps, they purposely left it unfinished because they didn't want us to know what it was?

He says, "Hideous burden(s)? I haven't seen you lift a finger since we've been here."
I like those photos you gave us Fantasia_Kitty, they're very encouraging.

Yeah. Only Reepicheep goes to Aslan's country. That is correct. Caspian going to where the Pevensies go is fine with me as long as he then goes back which i am sure he will.
There are no clouds in the sky. There is only the open sun and the Lord watches.
Yes,
I really think that there is nothing to suggest that Caspian will go to Aslan's country. Otherwise how are they going to finish off RD? And how are they going to make a film of SC? I just think it will be a case of Caspian coming along for the ride to say goodbye to Edmund, Lucy and Reepicheep.
Anyway just a thought,

Do you love "The Highwayman" by Alfred Noyes?

Its as good as confirmed that the Dark Island is going to be the final island, and will serve as the big action finale for the moive. As for the Sea Serpent, most of the evidence so far indicates it will come at the end too (such as the Michael Apted quote you mentioned) so it seems logical to assume it might be part of some sort of final "battle".
Agreed, and it makes (some sort) of cinematic sense to have the dark island last and just before Aslan's Country, so there's a kind of epic closure to the Big Ole Temptation Scene that is apparently the theme of the movie. It makes sense, but I don't have to like it đ

I haven't seen anyone post a transcript yet. Here's one:
Clip #1
Eustace is in his room writing in his journal. We hear the sound of a door closing and Lucy announcing her arrival.
Lucy: Weâre home!
Eustace closes his journal and hides it in his sock.
Cut to: The Scrubbsâ spare bedroom. Lucy is looking into a mirror. Edmund is admiring a painting.
Edmund: Lucy, have you seen this ship before?
Lucy: Itâs very Narnian looking, isnât it?
Eustace walks into the room.
Eustace: There once were two orphans
who wasted their time
believing in Narnia
and nursery rhymes.
Edmund: Donât you ever knock?
Eustace: Itâs my house. Iâll do as I please. Youâre just guests.
Eustace sits on the bed. The other two return to looking at the painting.
Lucy: Edmund, it looks like the waterâs actually moving.
Eustace: See? Thatâs what happens when you read all those fanciful novels and fairytales of yours.
Edmund: There once was a boy called Eustace
who read books full of facts that were useless.
Eustace: People who read fairytales are always the sort who become a hideous burden to people like me, who read books of real information.
Edmund: Hideous burden? I havenât seen you lift a finger since weâve been here.
The painting starts coming to life.
Eustace: Whatâs going on here?
Lucy: Edmund! The Painting!
Water starts pouring out of the painting as Eustace runs at it.
Edmund: Donât touch it. No!
Lucy shrieks and falls into the rising water.
Clip #2
Eustace is alone on a rocky island. He walks towards a ledge and looks into a canyon.
Eustace: What is that?
Suddenly the rock that Eustace is standing on gives way and Eustace tumbles into the rocky valley. He looks around and sees that the valley is filled with golden treasure.
Eustace: I must be dead!
Eustace greedily starts grabbing at the treasure and mumbles to himself.
Eustace: I bet the others would like this.
The glint of gold shines in Eustaceâs face. He sees a golden armring on a skeleton and takes it, knocking over the skeleton in the process.
Eustace: You wonât be needing that back will you?
Eustace returns to his treasure hunting until a puff of smoke distracts him.
Cut to: Another part of the island. Edmund and Caspian are searching for Eustace.
Caspian: Eustace!?
Edmund: Eustace?
They also find the canyon of gold.
Cut to: Inside the canyon. Edmund finds Eustaceâs shoe.
Edmund: What could have happened to him?
Caspian: Iâm sorry.
Edmund: I never should have left him.
Cut to: Lucy and crew on the Dawn Treader. They hear a roar in the distance.
Lucy: What was that?
There is a blast of fire from behind a rock.
Gael: Is it the volcano?
Drinian: Oh no. Thatâs no volcano.
Clip #3
Establishing shot of the sea of lilies.
Cut to: The crew on the Dawn Treader.
Caspian: Aslanâs country. We must be close.
Cut to: Edmund, Lucy, Eustace, Caspian, and Reepicheep in a rowboat gliding through the sea of lilies. Edmund and Caspian are at the oars.
Edmund: So what was it like? When Aslan changed you back?
Eustace: No matter how hard I tried, I just couldnât do it myself. Then He came towards me. It sort of hurt but⊠it was a good pain, like when you pull a thorn from your foot. Being a dragon wasnât all bad. I mean⊠I think I was a better dragon than I was a boy, really. Iâm so sorry for being such a sod.
Edmund: Itâs okay, Eustace. You were a pretty good dragon.
Lucy: I wonder what itâll be like. Aslanâs country.
Eustace: Canât quite even imagine it.
Movie Aristotle, AKA Risto
First off I'll say that I'm really pleased with these clips! It's clear that the editing is no where near finished (I'm certain huge chunks of these scenes have been cut out), and that the music is not the actual score, thus they suffer huge pacing problems, but overall they give a good feel for the movie.
I'd also like to present my theory on the Goldwater island clip. Someone may have already proposed this as I only skimmed through all 9 pages, and didn't read them thoroughly. I feel pretty certain that Eustace will, in fact, see the old dragon. If you look at 33 seconds, you can clearly see smoke come unto the screen, accompanied by a sort of heavy breathing. Not sure what else that could be besides a dragon. As we are quite certain they have combined Deathwater Island and Dragon Island into Goldwater Island I think that the skeleton we see is Lord Restimar, and the dragon will still be Lord Octesian. I'm guessing they've done away with the whole bit about Restimar jumping into the water and turning to gold and replaced it with him stumbling upon the gold and then somehow dying. Or perhaps Lord Restimar and Lord Octesian fought over the gold to their death and Lord Octesian won?
The last clip is easily my favorite, although, as someone else pointed out, I don't believe the beginning dialogue from Eustace actually belongs in that scene. Since these were put together for the "Fun For the Whole Family Hour" I can easily see them inserting audio from another scene into this one, so that they could summarize the story better and not have to show a whole other scene. Anyways, the whole feeling of that clip reminds me very much of the book and I like the sense of wonder expressed about Aslan's Country, although, I'm very confused as to why they ALL seem to be going to Aslan's Country, and not just Reepicheep.

They need to show more Eustace in the second trailer. He's the best actor of the three kids (IMO) and the most interesting character. These clips show that.
The editing I hope is not what it will be like in the film. It reminds me of the editing in the Eragon movie...chopy, rushed, making the whole thing feel like one sloppy montage.
Winter Is Coming
and that the music is not the actual score, thus they suffer huge pacing problems, but overall they give a good feel for the movie.
I wondered about that. I hope it isn't the score, because I find it a rather irritating theme.
I'm always sounding so negative! I don't want to. I just have hopes for this movie secretly in my heart, so I feel I have to chop it down a little publicly.

I don't know... I think Eustace's dialouge is supposed to be while they're in the Silver Sea, but not with the shots we saw. You can tell that pieces of dialouge were taken out, so this scene could be different from the clip, and IF this is really where he's talking about the un-dragoning, there's most likely more shots and lines that'll make this scene work better in the movie.
