I'm not sure if anyone has mentioned this yet or not, but in the first trailer we see Lucy looking into a mirror on the Dawn Treader (and Aslan comes up behind her). And now in the first clip of these three, we see Lucy looking into a mirror? Coincidence? I think not. They're definitely foreshadowing her wanting to be beautiful like Susan.
I met Georgie and Skandar AND saw the film in one evening.
Malfhok, thank you for sharing your thoughts here!! That makes me feel better. lol And ditto your comments on the cinematography! I loved it too! Especially the shot of Eustace when he halted on the edge of the canyon. In the trailer I also loved the shot of Lucy and Caspian being hauled up to the Dawn Treader.
Am I the only one who was slightly surprised to find Eustace so, well, aggressive? I never imagined him that way. More whiny and back stabbing, not so much sarcastic and biting. Maybe his "feel" will be better when viewed in the film's entirety, but I have to admit I was slightly disappointed. I didn't dislike it exactly, and I'm OK with seeing a slightly different take on his character. Still, I rather hope he does more whining and such later.
Of course, there is always the possibility that his attitude was different at his own home then on the Dawn Treader. Most of his "aggressiveness" is seen while taunting Ed and Lu in their room, and not so much in second clip, and none of course in the third. Safe in his own territory sort of thing? I dunno.

There is no such thing as a Painless Lesson
In the third clip, speaking as a film and audio editor, I am very, very sure that Eustace's talk about his undragoning is from another scene. It doesn't flow into the close up of him, and they were so careful to keep that audio over shots where his mouth wasn't visible. I don't know if y'all can hear it (it's an audio editor thing), but little nuances between the two sections make me think that something was cut out, anyway.
I think you're right, Malfhok. Good point. The audio changes there—we hear a slight roaring sound of the sea in the background, which we don't hear when he describes how Aslan changed him. The only thing we know he says in the scene is "Being a dragon wasn't all bad. I mean, I think I was a better dragon than I was a boy, really. I'm so sorry for being such a sod."
I'm very excited about these clips! Here's some things I noticed:
Clip #1: I really liked this scene in paticular. It was great to see Eustace writing in his notebook, and although that this shows how he has it on the Dawn Treader, I found in kind of amusing that he put it in his sock.
Will's voice didn't sound odd to me: infact, it sounded a lot like how I imagined it!
The thing I'm really glad they showed how Edmund and Eustace didn't get along very well. When I watched Edmund made a rhyme about Eustace being "useless," I couldn't resist giggling about it.
Clip #2: Now this scene felt odd to me. I think it has to do with the music, and how they sped it up so fast. Hopefully, they'll slow it down a bit in the movie.
I was kind of shocked to see supposedly Octesian's skeleton lying there. I was really hoping they'd keep Octesian's fate a mystery. Oh well, it could be worse...
Honestly, I thought it was great to see Edmund feeling guilty for his actions towards Eustace earlier, and sweet that Caspian told him, "I'm sorry."
Since the gold pool (now river) is there, I hope this means will get to see Edmund and Caspian argue over it.
Getting lines from Gael and Drinian was pretty neat. I can't really say whether I like her or not yet, but I think I like her ok.
Clip #3: Yes! We definetly know that Eustace is getting un-dragoned by Aslan, and that we know Aslan has to do it for him!
It's cool that Reepicheep seems giddy and excited about nearing Aslan's Country!
In conclusion, I thought these videos were pretty good, even if I'm a little worried about a couple things. Go Dawn Treader!
I loved the first clip! It was really awesome! But the next clip confused me quite a bit. Are they killing off Edmund's and Lucy's parents? If not why does Eustace referr to them as orphans? Why on earth would they do that if indeed they did do that? Is it to make Lucy have more in common with MLG? The third clip though was what I have been wanting to see for years now. But Edmund doesn't mention he was a traitor so, I am really disapointed about that. Although, he might not want to say that with Lucy and Caspian there too. But I miss the line just the same. I mean those are my two favorite characters, and in this movie it seems they get barely any time to become best friends, like I believe they became.
I was sort of surprised that Reepicheep didn't make any comments in the boat in the Sea of Lillies. It just feels like he should have spoken up and said something, ANYTHING! Maybe I just want to hear how Simon Pegg will be portraying him!

Wow, you're right! I never would have noticed that - thanks for pointing that out! So there's still a chance for the quiet Edmund/Eustace conversation after the undragoning? Awesome - I love that part!
Does this mean Eustace will still be a dragon for most of the movie? Or not? I don't know what to think anymore. If he stays a dragon for longer, where would the undragoning take place? Ramandu's Island?

Well while looking at the screencaps from the first trailer, it is clear that Eustace is not with Caspian, Edmund, Lucy, and Ramandu's Daughter on Ramandu's Island, and it is hard to tell if he can be seen in the shot of the Dark Island. So, I think that Eustace will be undragoned later on in the film, but may still have his touching scene with Edmund!

I have to say that I can't stand the fact that Caspian is going into Aslan's Country here. In the book he is told to wait and that is as it should be. In our microwave style society, bent on instant gratification it seems much more prudent that they'd make Caspian wait in the film so that Aslan's actions would be more correct in representing who he is supposed to be in this world. If they say the final speech in regards to another name, then to me it is imperative that he represent more accurately. I get the multiple ending stuff with the cinematic issues...but still think it highly subjective. I struggle to concentrate on all that they're saying because his very presence in the boat rowing to AC is annoying. He shouldn't be there. He just shouldn't. That change is not ok with me at all. God doesn't give us all that we want when we want it. Sometimes we're told to wait or that He has other plans...or we're flat out told "no," and that's ok. There's nothing wrong with that. They should have stuck to the books.
PC all over again...there's the first proverbial "pebble in the shoe" for me. I hope the last, but after seeing the trailer, I doubt it. The White Witch being there is sort of beating a dead horse in my mind...but it is what it is.
RED ALERT! RED ALERT Fox has requested that Aslanscountry.com remove the clips! What is going on? Were the clips pirated? Did they make a mistake? Have they changed their minds? NOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!
Seeking comic book artist, PM for details.
I find it odd that Fox would request the videos to be taken down now, given that they, us, and everyone else knew these clips were going to be released on DVD on August 16th.
If they really didn't want the videos to appear on the internet, they could of informed all the major Narnia fan sites ahead of time not to post news stories on the videos should they appear. Im sure every single one of them would of complied with such a courteous request, given how close a working relationship the fan sites maintain with the production.
Part of me thinks they might well have wanted the clips to appear on line for a while and generate some positive publicity, which these clips undoubtedly have (far more than both trailers ever did) but now require them to be pulled to protect the economic viability of the Group VBS DVD package as a product in its own right.
Thanks so much for telling us Dinode!
I just downloaded them from youtube so if they get pulled I can still watch them. Close one!
I mentioned on my prier post that I think Eustace will be undragoned on Ramandu’s Island, because I can’t picture him being a dragon during The Dark Island.
And after rereading the description of his encounter with Aslan from the book, I can picture a well being on Ramandu’s Island and the surroundings being very similar.

The clips were pleasing. This may seem trivial but it feels like Georgie`s so focused on having a " proper accent " that her acting is suffering for it. Perhaps I`m being unfair since it is too early to tell with such limited footage. Will P.`s performance was pretty good. He`s angry and indifferent rather than whiny like in the book. I actually prefer this change. I never liked Eustace until now. I`m a bit liberal with the book to film adaption as long as they don`t alter the characters too much. As long as the plot at large stays intact and isn`t turned on its head like PC. Dawn treader is heading in the right direction.
My thoughts:
I didn’t notice the “orphans” line until told about it, (I’ve been submerged in A Series of Unfortunate Events and The Boxcar Children for too long) but it immediately made sense to me. Remember how they said that they were borrowing elements from The Last Battle? Ever since, I have been wondering how they would pull that off. Now it becomes clear. If the Pevensie parents are dead, then the children would be longing to see them again, -in Aslan’s Country perhaps? I think they took the plot element of the Pevensie parents dying from LB and added it into VDT.
Killing off the Pevensie kids on the other hand doesn’t make much sense for Peter, although if the movie-makers are afraid of Susan’s fate in the books, then I can imagine her getting killed off to avoid that problem later.
The painting is growing on me. The point where the water began to roll was subtle but noticeable. Just right.
I agree that in clip two we are not necessarily seeing Octesian’s skeleton. Eustace just picked up an armring. We don’t really know whose it was. They might have changed the lord from whom Eustace takes the armring.
I still believe that the old dragon will be in the movie. While there is smoke in other parts of the clip, this is the only part where a sound effect for the smoke is specifically played. Besides, why else would the director make Eustace turning around such an integral part of that shot? What else would he be looking at? A geyser? The Witch? Dufflepuds? Bilbo?
I loved Eustace and Caspian being sorry about losing Eustace.
It looks like Eustace is seeing treasure for first time. I’m guessing the Goldwater lake scene hasn’t happened yet, if it will be included at all.
I agree that these clips are obviously thrown together…not finished yet.
I like that Eustace apologizes, but Ed doesn’t seem to reveal that he was a traitor. The scene where Ed and Eustace make up was my favorite part of all the 7 books. I’m sorry for the change, but one can’t really expect the movie to be exactly like the book…
…and yet we do…
