Watched the clips again (for the fourth? fifth? time ) and am now wondering about a few other things. In the second clip, after Edmund says "I never should have left him," Caspian says "I'm sorry." What is Caspian apologizing? It could be in the context of "I'm sorry your cousin has disappeared and left his shoe behind in a place where there's a skeleton and is mostly likely dead even though I never liked him very much anyway" but I rather doubt it. Deathwater argument maybe?
I thought I saw steam floating about in the last shot of Eustace; he turns his head to look in that direction - the dragon's breath?
The island they shot that on was White Island, which is a volcanic island in New Zealand. They seem to be keeping the fact that it is a volcanic island in the movie, as the steam coming from the island is real (it actually looks like that in real life) and is emanating from nowhere near the Dragon fire. Gael's question about whether the fire is the volcano seems to be based upon the fact that they actually know the island to be a volcano. Drinian points out that the fire specifically wasn't due to the volcano.
I noticed that, and I'm wondering if he's actually looking at Octesian's skeleton at that point, and saying "I'm sorry" as in "I'm sorry to see we're too late for this Lord"
Thanks for the great possible explanation for the smoke, Icarus! I didn't think of that.

A few minor things I'm seeing upon watching the larger vids on NarniaFans.
I love Eustace. Will's doing a lovely job at being a pill.
Lucy's room has a picture of Susan and Peter on the bedside table. At 0.47 on the first clip, Lucy has a stuffed dog on top of her trunk/belongings that looks like the one from LWW.
I'm pretty sure "orphans" is just a jibe and not literal. Especially since Eustace follows it up with "You're just guests."
I hope so. . .
I have a sneaking suspicion after seeing the body of (presumably) Lord Octesian that there will only be one dragon in this movie... Eustace.
I took the steam/smoke that we see just before the clip cuts away from Eustace in the second video to imply the first dragon.
After Eustace falls down and sees the gold, what is he saying? It sounds like "I must be dead" but that doesn't make any sense.
I thought he meant something along the lines of the "I've died and gone to Heaven" phrase.

Love the first clip. Eustace has his diary! The painting leaves something to be desired, but I suspect it isn't done yet. Will is perfect as Eustace and I liked that they gave us some of the book narration through Edmund's limerick. I doubt seriously that the Pevensie parents have been killed off.
Kinda miffed that they have Octesian as a skeleton, but it's not that big a deal. I suppose creating two CGI dragons was considered a waste of money. Still not thrilled about Gael, especially since it looks like we were fooling ourselves when we thought maybe she didn't have much screen time.
Third clip was excellent. The Sea of Lilies is beautiful and I'm so happy that they've kept Aslan transforming Eustace. I was worried about that.
It's interesting to finally see some footage, but everything seemed kind of odd to me. The music didn't match, and the dialogue didn't always match their mouth movement, and transitions between scenes seemed choppy, like there's parts in-between that were edited out. A lot of it also seemed to go by too fast. Hopefully it's only because it's not finished yet, and has been condensed instead of showing the whole scene.
The acting seemed a little off too. I think Georgie, Skandar, Will, and Ben are AMAZING actors, but their acting didn't seem quite right to me in these clips. But maybe it will look right once the right music is added, and the movie is complete. Or they might use different takes altogether.
Clip One:
1. It's interesting how they left in the fact that he keeps a diary. I wonder if they'll show what he writes, like in the book, or if it will just show him writing. It might look odd if they do that. Maybe that scene is the only one where the diary is shown -- just as a little thing for book fans to notice.
2. Lucy looking in the mirror. Of course, this is the beginning of what will happen with the Magician's book. Hopefully, it doesn't mean that what we saw in the leaked script was true -- about her having a romance with Caspian and trying to be more beautiful for him.
3. Hopefully there is more between the part when they say they're home, and the part when they're looking at the painting. It probably just got edited out before it was shown to us, and will still be in the movie. It seems odd to come home from the grocery store and immediately start talking about a painting.
4. When Edmund says his poem, I like how Lucy doesn't laugh, but only smiles. It makes her seem like she's amused at Edmund's joke, yet still respectful to her cousin. Which is accurate, I think, to the book. In the original, she didn't like Eustace much, but still tried to be very polite to him, and make him feel better.
Clip Two:
1. I thought this one was even more overly-fast-paced than the others.
2. Eustace says something I can't quite hear, "_____ would like this" or something like that. What is he saying?
3. I'm glad they kept the part from the book about him having a ring on his arm. I was afraid they might leave it out, and just make his being a dragon his only problem, instead of being a dragon with a ring stuck on his arm.
4. "I never should have left him." I hope this is the only time Edmund says this, but I doubt it. It would be so annoying if it turned out to be some huge guilt hang-up for Edmund, blaming himself for Eustace's dragon problem throughout the movie.
5. I have a feeling Eustace is the only dragon too. It makes more sense movie-wise, even though I like accuracy. If we saw a dragon before Dragon-Eustace, it would make Dragon-Eustace seem less impressive. Plus two dragons in one part of the movie might seem like overkill on screen.
6. I wonder if they'll build any new scenes involving the volcanoe?
Clip 3:
1. I thought Eustace talking about his dragon episode kind of ruined the quiet, serene, supernatural feel to the way this scene should play out. I wish they had done this earlier instead of here.
2. I'm glad they left in much of the original dialogue from the book concerning Eustace's undragoning. But hopefully they left out parts for this clip, because it seemed way too short. Maybe it will be longer in the actual movie than what we're seeing here. It'd be a shame for it to be that short in the final movie.
3. The way Eustace is looking at the camera while he talks gave it too much of an "interview" feel, like it was some reality show instead of a Narnia movie. I know he's talking to Edmund who's offscreen, but it still looks like he's talking to the camera, and I didn't really like that.
4. The CGI effects on Reepicheep look pretty bad, but hopefully they're not finished yet.
So those were my thoughts on the clips. I'm so glad to see footage at last, but things in the clips still concern me.
Hopefully everything will look fine in the final movie!
I have a really stupid question. What accent is Drinian using?
Hard to tell on the accent, since its such a short line, but my initial reaction was that it sounded slightly Scandinavian, with a hint of his natural Australian accent thrown in. Particularly on the "V" of "Volcano". Though perhaps i just think that because he looks like he should be a rugged Scandinavian Sailor type
I like Drinian standing there playing court to Lucy.

The island is called "Goldwater" as opposed to them editing out Deathwater Island altogether and just calling it Dragon Island. Didn't we see concept art and such? I definitely think that the lake (or river, supposedly) of water that turns things to gold will be in the movie. I wouldn't understand why they would be fighting here and by the lake/river, so maybe they just fight here? I really don't know!! HAHA

I think that what is being suggested is that this is the gold river and that the reason there are all of these gold objects in this channel is because this is a river bed. The river is dried up right now or just down to a trickle and that is why the objects are visible, but that the water here is the water that will turn things into gold. Edmund and Caspian may still argue about the gold once they figure out what is going on with the water.
I actually really like the part where Edmund and Caspian argue about the water in the book and i hope they keep that in. I think that might be their character arcs though we have to wait and see.
Notice Edmund is wearing the long sword and Caspian is wearing Peter's sword.

Maybe before they find out that Eustace is a dragon, they think he was turned to gold by the river...
Yippee-ki-yay! I think these are all great! It does appear to me that they edited out parts for these clips, but that's fine.
Clip 1. I'm glad the diary is there , I hope this isn't the last we see of it.
I'm pretty sure Mr. and Mrs. Pevensie are not dead because A. neither Peter or Susan are there, and B. Eustace says they're guests.
Like the rhyming, even if it's not exactly like the book, but who except us Narnia fans would know what balmier means? Besides, there may be more rhyming that we just haven't seen yet.
Clip 2. I agree with Lady_Liln about him meaning "I've died and gone to heaven."
The treasure looks awesome! Pity it's not in a cave, but other then that, they got it right. It's also probably not real gold, THAT would have gone over budget.
I thought for a while that he was saying, "I bet my aunt would like this," but now I think he's saying "I bet the others would like this," NOT in the generous way, but in the boy-will-they-be-jealous way.
I know this is unlikely, but is it possible that he saw the old dragon die and then it became Octesians skeleton? If not, then I think that steam had something to do with the dragon.
It's possible that this is where Edmund and Caspian have their argument, but in any case I think the "I'm sorry" and "I never should have left him" lines are showing Edmund feeling responsible for losing him and Caspian sympathizing. No, this would not be wrong, even Reepicheep said it was their duty to find him, and Eustace feels bad about failing that duty.
I like the music throughout the trailer. We get to see and hear more of Gael, and I love the last line. "That's no volcano."
WHAT! NO DRAGON! Oh well, I guess they haven't finished him yet.
Clip 3. I had imagined the sea of lilies being more dense, but other than that, it looks great.
They included Eustace's description of how he became undragoned, including how it hurt, which is great.
Eustace may not be able to imagine what Aslan's Country is like, but he'll be among the first to know.
Conclusion. Sorry this post was so long. Overall, everything about these clips is, if not positive, then are probably not negative. I can not wait to see more.

I hope they keep in the book the part where the front of Edmund's boot turns into gold!
