I would say my favorite clip of the three is the second one though it makes me ask a few questions.
What I like of this clip is that Edmund shows care for Eustace which is in the book of course. And then there's Caspian's British accent which is cool.
First question is: When Eustace fell in, was that supposed to be a cave or a huge hole in the ground? Last time I checked, in the book it was a cave.
And second question is: Doesn't the skeleton kind of kill the mystery in the book? The mystery was: Was Lord Octesian the dragon or was he eaten by the first dragon? (So far, we haven't seen the dragon Eustace saw in the book.)
If I'm wrong in any of this, just correct me. Or let me know if this has been discussed already or in other topic.
As we are quite certain they have combined Deathwater Island and Dragon Island into Goldwater Island I think that the skeleton we see is Lord Restimar, and the dragon will still be Lord Octesian. I'm guessing they've done away with the whole bit about Restimar jumping into the water and turning to gold and replaced it with him stumbling upon the gold and then somehow dying. Or perhaps Lord Restimar and Lord Octesian fought over the gold to their death and Lord Octesian won?
That's my theory as well - it seems unlikely they would do away with the first dragon since the mound of treasure is clearly a dragon's horde. I think you could be right about the two lords fighting over the gold. In the book, Lewis writes, "Sleeping on a dragon's horde with greedy, dragonish thoughts in his heart, he had become a dragon himself." Here, Lewis is referring to Eustace, but the same principles could be applied to the lords. Lewis also writes, "...you so seldom find more than one dragon in the same country." Suppose Restimar and Octesian, having discovered the treasure and/or the water than turns things to gold, start thinking greedy, dragonish thoughts and fight over their findings. Restimar dies, and Octesian turns into a dragon because of his greed.
Sure, it takes the mystery out of whether or not Octesian was the dragon. But at least it's somewhat based on the book.

It gives me great pleasure to report I have no rebuke for these clips at all. It's probably the first Narnia clip from any movie I've never had problems with. Yeah, it presents a bit of confusion with the lords and who's where and all that, but the concept of these scenes is awesome.
The first one shows what Eustace was, the boy who knew there were dozens of ways to give people a bad time and who read books full of facts that were useless.
In the second one it shows just how bad he really is, pulling an arm ring off a corpse for the sake of greed and making himself better. Then it gives such a subtle hint, completely understood by fans, toward the consequenses of his actions. Note: I think there will be a battle sequence right here. If they let Eustace keep his original thoughts of getting even, giving into his temptation. I think something could happen during this battle that shows him not only what a monster he is on the outside but also what he has been on the inside. Then he will land, letting the hot dragon tears flow as Lucy heals the wounds he recieved from battle (just a foolish hope)
The last one tells (rather than shows) what he learned and how he learned it. It's obvious Eustace is different. I love what Lucy says about wondering what Aslan's country will be like and then I love what Eustace says even more.

I like your idea about Lucy curing Eustace with her cordial, beloved! I think that the part where Drinian declares that the burst of flames was not the volcano, he will have the crew get their crossbows ready, and then the "dragon attack" will ensue.

To keep it short and quick, I loved these clips. I really am getting excited for VotD. As for a favorite... I honestly don't know - I'd probably have to re-watch them all a second time. But I really, really am impressed, and I'm absolutely thrilled with Eustace!

The clips were removed before I could see them, so thanks Movie Aristotle, lol at least I know what happened in them
Sort of a strange feeling: I like a lot of the elements in the clips, yet I don't like the clips as a whole due to the bad music and editing. Although I know it will be good in the final film, every time I see them, I feel like the film will be terrible. But the first clip is probably my favorite. Other than that I love Eustace, I think the changes made at the dragon Island are interesting, and the monologue in the third clip makes me think that they at least got one theme in the book. By far the most encouraging material I've seen yet!

Thank you Movie Aristotle for the transcripts!!!!
I saw the movie....and was disappointed
ooh, my mom and I were talking and I have a theory about the second clip:
ok, they show Eustace with the gold. he may or may not have seen the other dragon. but after that you see Edmund and Caspian come up to the gold. they see the gold. Edmund is worrying about having left Eustace.....
I think that right here they are going to have the fight over the gold (this might be Deathwater combined in this island?) and I think the skeleton is the guy who is in the book found in the water in Deathwater.

Liberty Hoffman, wow that is an idea...but I would like to see them do the pool of water like in the book. And reepicheep and Lucy should be there but I suppose they could still make a good scene out of it that way.

After seeing these clips, I also really feel like Eustace was ripped out of the book and plopped into the films!
