I really do love this song. Granted I'm a fan of Carrie Underwood but this is a really good song. There is a place out there for us, God created this for us and instilled us with a longing for our true home, like Reepicheep does for the entire book.
Also, we can be the kings and queens of anything because God will bless us in whatever we do if it is the desire of our heart and we delight ourselves in the Lord when we do it we will have victory. We are promised that. We were made for more than this world and we can spend all of eternity doing what we most desire.
God made each of us different and exactly who we are is exactly how he made us to be. It's a "Kingdom Mentality", a way of acting that declares you believe the kingdom of God is in you now and you can bring it to the world around you.

I like EMD's version better but this is a close second. I think they tried to make the lyric not sounding too Christian/evangelistic, hence the "belief in yourself" feel.

Joe Mcelderry's version is headache inducing (no offense to anyone who enjoys listening to him...I've strongly disliked his voice from the very start) but Carrie's sounds wonderful. I'll admit that the lyrics are very generic, but she pulls it off wonderfully, and it's the best out of all the songs for Dawn Treader in my opinion. It's the only one that really includes anything to do with Narnia in it's lyrics any way.

Hey, did anyone watch Skating with the Stars? I actually don't watch it, but I found a clip on youtube showing an ice-dancing troupe skate to "There's a Place for Us" with clips from the movie in the background!

I...didn't actually care for the ice dancing, though the couple - who were representing Caspian and Lilliandil? - were pretty good. But it's interesting that they would do a routine like that.

I hadn't bothered listening to the song until I saw the movie, and as the credits rolled, I was very surprised. I hated it! It sounded cheesy and cliche, and too country for a Narnia film. Imogen Heap and Regina Spektor made very 'Narnian' songs, in my opinion. They had a touch of wonder and magic to them, and were very specific to the movies. THIS song was vague and twangy. If I remember correctly there was acoustic guitar involved, and it just did not fit!

I heard people say they were liking the song when it played in theaters.

Having seen the song in context I must say I totally loved it with the book illustrations mixed in.

okay, having watched the credits in VotDT and hearing that song in those credits, I just love the song now! it was very fitting at the end of the movie!

I absolutely LOVE this song! I think it is a very Narnian song and it's just so beautiful! I just love the feel of the song! I've listened to it a million times since I saw the movie! I absolutely LOVE It!!
