The song feels generic and unoriginal. The lyrics and upbeat tunes could easily suit any rated G or PG family film. I don`t feel any connection with Narnia when I hear this song. Its like a song made for a Hallmark movie. Although Carrie sings the song better than the other performers .
Just watched Carrie's version (albeit a shortened version) and personally, I really liked it. I got chills listening to it, but that could have more to do with the new footage and Carrie's amazing voice than the lyrics themselves. Perhaps it doesn't scream Narnian, but it is a credits song so I'm rather forgiving in that area. I must admit I liked it more than (most of) the previous credit songs.
Wow, I complain and then a day later they give us a sample of thesong with Carrie's voice! Nice!
And, as I suspected, it sounds much better with a female voice. Still have to wait to hear the whole thing, but I much prefer this version.
Personally, as long as the credits songs stay in the credits, I don't mind what they're like as long as they're sung well, and Carried seems to sing this quite well.

^^I'm not saying I didn't like the song, in fact I loved it! But it is not a Narnia song....not something I would expect to find at the worlds end. I'm just hoping this song sticks to the credits and is not like Regina Spektor's ill-timed "The Call."

Precisely! As long as it stays in the credits, I don't really care if it 'sounds Narnian'. In my opinion it's better than the credit songs for LWW which, if I could understand the lyrics, were grating on my ears. I actually tend to just not watch the scene with Lucy and the Professor at the end because it has the start of that one song and it's an annoying song that gets stuck in my head despite the fact that I can't even understand what the singer is saying.
Still think Krippayne's 'Voyage' would be a better fit, though, style wise.

I still think the lyrics are cheap although the performance was nice, and the song is okay, but I agree with A_Narnian_Ship that it is not for Narnia. Yes there may be some lines in there that kinda fit, all together I don't think it fits. Not as bad as I thought, but still....somehow I think that Narnia deserves something better

I voted meh. I mean, it's okay, and Carrie has a great voice (I heard the short Carrie version) but it doesn't feel like Narnia to me. And the lyrics are kind of cheesy. Sounds like something out of a Disney movie.

I voted for "I hate it!"...I don't hate it but I don't like it at all. It is a good song, a good country song I guess but they all sound the same to me and country just doesn't fit with Narnia. I wanted something more like "Can't Take It In" or "This Is Home". Those songs fit perfectly. This one just... doesn't.
The new "Music video" has upped the song a little in my estimation. Carrie Underwood's voice is certainly superior to EMD. But the lyrics are still childish. Ugh.

ok, I like hearing Carrie Underwood sing it better. I still don't much like the lyrics, but Carrie's voice sounds awesome singing it!

Well Carrie Underwood has done a much better job with this song than anyother singer we have seen so far. I don't like the lyrics, but its ok as a song. I guess. It might grow on me. I just don't know if I want to see this in a Narnia film.
I agree that as long as it doesn't cut into the main part of the film (like the Call did at the end of PC) I'm not worried about this.

I'd actually have to disagree with those who say country music doen't fit in with Narnia... It does very much so... and although I'd prefer a different song, I think Carrie Underwood can pull it off. And I wouldn't complain to much people, its not like they're going Hank Williams, or Johnny Cash on you Country has evolved and nowadays covers a much, much wider spectrum. Also the reasons I love country music are exactly the same reasons why I love Narnia. And please go easy on the bashing of country music as a genre, I know you guys don't mean to be disrespectful... but some others may see some posts on some threads/ the comments pages that way. That doesn't mean you have to like it, just be respectful toward those who do.

I wouldnt say Country music and Carrie Underwood is out of place for Narnia. Out of place music would be more along the lines of Lady Gaga doing a pop song for the movie. I think Carrie will do fine.
I think the problem is we all heard the lyrics first before hearing Carrie. Most songs that are hits do have cheesy lyrics, but they are usually overlooked by a catchy tune and a good singing voice. I believe if Carrie sings well and the background music is good, there won't be as much complaining.

Aghhhhhhhh!!!!! Mental pic of Lady Gaga....nooooo! Ugh that would be terrible! Anyway, while I do agree, I think Carrie will do just fine, I believe there should be a little less Country in the music. It just doesn't seem to fit the epicness(is that a word?) of the world's end.
I saw the movie....and was disappointed
I know this is the thread for the song, but since there's a music video I wanted to comment on the clips...
Since when does Ramandu's daughter have the magical ability to light candles? Turning into a star, ok, I can handle that since it could be part of her genetic makeup, being the daughter of a star and all. But magical abilities to light candles? A little...witch-like, isn't it? (Maybe Edmund will snap out of the 'you're so beautiful' funk and start accusing her after that...we can only hope).
However, the scene seemed to fit the music video well, I have to say.
