They need to stick with the Celtic styled songs from the LWW soundtrack. The Call from the PC soundtrack was nice . Normally those are the type of songs used in fantasy films . At least this was the case with The Lord of the Rings.

Oh my, I really, really, really hope it will be better in the final movie, because as it looks right now it is incredibly cheesy.

/edit: Now after thinking about it a bit more, it is actually the thing right now about VDT that bothers me most. Not the soul-eating thing (because it was clear that was going to be in since the leaked script and therefore doesn't bother me as much by now) and not the other plot changes. But if they want to end this kind of story with this kind of song, that's not going to work for me.

It sounds pretty good for the credits and it seems as if it was written for Narnia.

It will work better with Underwood.

It sounds like its singing about Aslan's Country.

If you ask me, the lyrics are kinda cheesy, I didn't really like it, maybe it will come out better when Carrie sings it but.....I don't care for the lyrics at all. Somehow....I don't know how to describe it.....it just sounds....cheap, very cheap, the lyrics I mean, but it might still sound very nice

I agree, wild rose, some of the lyrics are extremely cheesy! But some are very elegant as well. I'm actually looking forward to hearing Carrie Underwood perform it...she has a very lovely voice, and is capable of singing far more than country!

I voted that I'd wait til I heard Carrie sing, but to be honest, what annoys me most in the words for all the reasons others have said. it's quite disappointing really, I don't know quite why I'm upset about this so much, but I guess I had high expectations for this (produced by the excellent songs fromt he other two movies I suppose) that I didn't realise I had :-s

Grief for the movies made me abandon narniaweb...but I'm so glad to be back!
Many thanks to the wonderful Lady Eowyn for making my sig/av.

Really meh. The lyrics for the previous movie's ending songs were much better suiting for the context. Hopefully the final version will sound better.

I know the film version will be Carrie Underwood's, but there's a video online with the audio of Joe Mcelderry singing this song live, if anyone's interested. :)

He's a better singer than those other guys, but the lyrics are so stomach-churningly saccharine that I had to stop listening.

I kinda like Scott Krippayne's Voyage song (the one Narniaweb posted a link for a free download) better. It's still inspired by VODT, but to me it has a catchier tune and is less...sweet than There's a Place for Us. It just sounds more like it belongs at the end of a song about, well, a voyage.

I'm still hoping Carrie Underwood's version will be better. I definitely think TAPFU was written for a female voice.

Lirenel, Yes, "There's a place for us" will probably sound better with a female voice.

As far as I'm concerned, I love it! :D
Fair enough it's not the ideal song or style for Narnia, but I think it sounds good and Carrie's voice is beautiful. Besides, this will play with the credits, which I personally don't consider as part of the movie. So it really doesn't make a difference :D/
