As we learnt from several recent promotional competitions, the World Premiere of Voyage of the Dawn Treader is scheduled to take place as a Royal Film Performance on November 30th in Leicester Square in London. However, now the Cinema & Television Benevolent Fund (CTBF) who are the organisation behind the annual Royal Film Performance have now confirmed some of the details for the event, some of which are very very exciting!
Firstly they mention that Leicester Square will be turned into a "Narnian Winter Wonderland" for the event - yeah, its the entirely wrong movie for that, but it still sounds awesome. Secondly it will apparently take place at both the Odeon Cinema AND the Empire Cinema in Leicester Square!? (Ironically enough i was in both those cinemas today nosing around to see if they had any of the new posters or promotional material on display) Thirdly, and most excitingly, it says that CTBF Members can purchase tickets for the event up till 22nd October, and then they go on GENERAL SALE from October 23rd!! Maybe that's why they've got two cinemas? One for the VIPs, one for the rest of us mere mortals. Hahhaha.
Ironically again, i am supposed to be going off on holiday later that very day, but sure as sure i'm going to be all over that website first thing in the morning trying to get a ticket. Anyone else interested? It's not every day you get a chance to go mingle with Narnian Royalty and Real Life Royalty is it? I must say though, looking at the prices, it won't be cheap!
Anyway, you can see their website and purchase tickets here: http://www.ctbf.co.uk/?#/283
Hopefully we will get more details about the premiere soon, in particular which members of the Royal Family will be in attendance, and which stars from the movie will be there - that had been some doubts about whether Ben Barnes would be able to make it due to his commitments to his role in the play "Birdsong" (see quote from Ben Barnes here), and from the sounds of the recent interview with Tony Nixon, many of the Australian stars didn't even seem to know whether they were even going to be invited! Hopefully they all can make it... as well as a few NarniaWebbers
ADDED: As a side note - their website also have a glimpse of the UK "quad" poster for VDT (for some reason, cinemas in the UK have traditionally had posters in a Landscape format known as a "Quad", rather than the usual Portrait format "One Sheet" posters you get elsewhere. Don't ask me why). If you click through to the ticket purchasing pages, you can get the full-size high-res version of it.
I just reported this story. Thanks, icarus!
I looked at the tickets for events page. And it acts like members and non-members can buy a ticket for either cinema. It's just that Odeon costs more. Check out this link: http://www.ctbfstore.co.uk/index.php?ap ... ref=events
I couldn't seem to work out what there was limiting non-members purchasing the non-member tickets right now, rather than waiting till October 23rd. I managed to click my way pretty far through the purchasing process without any blocks on my progress, and only didn't keep going cos i bailed out when i realised i might just be about to make an incredibly expensive cinema ticket purchase without having fully thought it through - I've not had the best of luck this year when it comes to advance purchase of tickets, plus i will probably wait anyway to see if anyone else from NarniaWeb fancies splashing out on a £100 cinema ticket as well
I found a website called "Premiererow" that gives more info on the VDT world premiere! We need to keep tabs on this site!

EDIT: I don't know if I should post this, but Tony Nixon (Rynelf) said on Twitter (tweets locked) yesterday that he'd already bought a ticket because waiting for an invite made him sick. But if he is eventually invited, he'll sell his ticket if he can. Tony and other Australian actors having to buy tickets to a movie they appear in is sickening to me! Cmon, Fox, do your duty!
EDIT: VDT in 3-D at an Imax theatre in New York City on December 10 ...

What's weird: dates and prices! Dec 1 and 3? $2000 and up?
The CTBF Website is now confirming that Her Majesty the Queen and His Royal Highness The Duke of Edinburgh will be in attendance at the premiere! Wow. All we need now is confirmation that Ben Barnes can make it - The King of Narnia and the Queen of England at the same event - how amazing would it be to see that!
Also, i just purchased tickets for the event - Standard seats in the Odeon Cinema. A little bit worried that it didn't seem to say whether or not tickets would be delivered or would be available for collection - it didn't ask me for a delivery address (or charge me for delivery), so i might assume the latter - but i'm off on holiday this afternoon, so i'll just have to wait and see what happens when i get back (aside from there being a massive credit card bill with £200 worth of cinema tickets on it waiting for me. ouch)
You should consider starting a Lion Party for this icarus. Just to stand outside on the red carpet and see all the guests. I don't know too many other people on this site that have the money to purchase tickets to the Odeon Cinema, but they might to the Empire (you said that one was cheaper right?)
Anyways, something to think about.
The Queen, the Duke of Edinburgh, and Prince Charles are all attending? Oh, what I wouldn't give to be British and living in London right about now - that, and possessor of a bit more money! icarus, you are so lucky! I hope it turns out to be one of the best days of your life.

I did think about that, but in gauging the reaction of some of the UK based NarniaWeb community, i didn't get the impression there was much interest in it, plus i'm going with my brother now and i'm not sure he'd be too interested in the whole Lion Party thing - but definitely if there are any other NarniaWebbers attending the event in whatever capacity i'd be more than interested in meeting up to say hi or whatever
Seems that in addition to the World Premiere screening taking place at the Odeon Cinema and the Empire Cinema in Leicester Square, there will also be a third screening of the movie on the night of the premiere at the O2?
I hadn't heard anything about this till now, and can't find any other sites to confirm it, but this posting has appeared on a few freebies websites:
Another Sky rewards preview screening at the O2 in Greenwich.
Attend a Premiere Screening of Narnia
As a Sky customer, you can claim up to four tickets to the 3D Premiere Screening of The Chronicles of Narnia: The Voyage of the Dawn Treader and be among the very first people to watch the must-see family film sponsored by Sky 3D, a week before it reaches cinemas. You could be watching the third installment of The Chronicles of Narnia in amazing 3D at the same time as the Queen and the film's cast will be arriving at the Royal World Premiere in Leicester Square. Apparently the offer is now closed, but according to a few of the posts on the sites lots of people seem to have claimed tickets for it, so i guess its for real. I would imagine the details can be found on the Sky Rewards website if you login with your Sky TV membership details.
Just a word to say that the World Premiere was absolutely awesome. Nothing much more to report other than that. Fairly certain i saw Paul Martin whilst waiting in the queue to get onto the Red Carpet, but it was at this point that i realised i had no idea what any of the other Narnia website people looked like, so i have no idea if i saw anyone else.
I put some photos of the event on flickr, though it was hard to get decent photos, and i think none of them really do justice to how amazing everything looked, especially with the way the snow was falling at the time. It was just perfect, i doubt the event organisers could believe their luck with the weather Might add some more later:
^^ ooh, looks like it was awesome! so cool about the snow!

Thank you for the pictures! Lovely weather there too.
Having met Paul Martin, I would say he is not easy to miss. I suspect Courtney was there too - to whom he proposed marriage on the set of the Dawn Treader.
I know Tirian, and Kristi (The Lions Call) were there. I have no clue what the Admin for Aslan's Country looks like.
I wonder if there will be a group pic of them floating around somewhere.
“Safe?” said Mr. Beaver; “don’t you hear what Mrs. Beaver tells you? Who said anything about safe? ‘Course he isn’t safe. But he’s good. He’s the King, I tell you.”
@ceppault: I didn't know TLC admin Kristi would be there! The admin for AC (Poggin) looks like this [see link below]. His birthday was yesterday, along with Andrew Adamson and Paul.
