I thought it was cute. And another good tie-in, for people who absolutely need a link and cannot see the other connections.

I really liked it. It was like each of the children had something of thier's in Narnia. It was odd that the batteries worked :-. It was probablly the Deep Magic of Narnia

I liked it and thought it was funny. I always wondered what happened to it, but the fact that the batteries were still working was odd. The way I explain it is that the magic in Narnia just keeps objects from out of it's world the same way they were when they came in. That's not the best way to explain, but I like the idea. :D

New Product! Narnian Batteries! They'll last for three years or more!

Seriously, I liked the inclusion of the Torch. It was a cute moment, and gave movie-goers something to tie it to PC. What I liked best was the look on Edmund's face when Caspian gives it to him: it's like he expected a sword or something, and ended up with his torch. He was like, oooookay. :- :p The only possible explanations I came come up with for the batteries lasting so long is that either the magic protected it (like the gifts were for the Pevensies in PC) or that they considered it a royal treasure and therefore did not mess with it. (Or they figured out a way to make their own batteries that last so much longer than they do here!! :p )

I liked that moment, really. It made Edmund look a little less 'left out' of the Christmas gift giving. I liked the idea that the batteries still worked. Perhaps less corruption in the general atmostphere? Or maybe, as has been said, nobody messed with it.

In some ways the torch is as momentous as the other gifts, such as Lucy's Diamond healing cordial or Susan's horn. A good source of light is nothing to be sneezed at, is it? And of all the characters, it is Edmund who features most in the books, apart from Lucy, and who sheds most light on what the series is about.

It gave me a laugh cause I didn't really expect to see that torch. I was focused with the book and swords, but the torch was like a small comedic scene(in a good way) which was really funny and enlightening. Good way to connect the Narnia series.

am I the only one who noticed that the torch was lost when Edmund almost got eaten by the sea serpent when he was acting as bait so they could steer the serpent into the rocks?
when the serpent takes a bite out of the Dragon's head of the ship (almost taking Edmund in that bite too :-o ;) ) Edmund drops the torch! :D

It was a cute idea to keep the torch in--my eight year old loved it. But I wish it hadn't been turned into an awkward moment. It was a joke in PC that Edmund left the torch in Narnia. I thought he should have laughed and said--"Hey--there it is!"

As it was, it almost seemed as if Caspian was either being extremely condescending or trying to insult him.

I believe it was a great add .. its just like everyone got gifts but Edmund which he didnt get because he was with the Witch so it's his own punishment .. Every character had thier own 'signature item' .. Lucy's cordial, Peter's sword and shield, and Susan's Bow.. I believe they added this so Edmund could have his 'item' so to say

Well said cuppycakesrach ;). At least Edmund has his own signature item, better than possessing none.

I really like the moment, I didn't laugh out loud but I was grinning watching that scene. Too bad the people at my theater seems not to have any idea what the significance of the torch was.

But from what I remember, we didn't get to see the torch in PC after the night raid, I just thought it's a bit odd that the torch would still survive after it considering the guards would thought of it as an enemy's possession and probably would have destroyed it after the raid :p

Hmmm, that is confusing. How did Caspian retrieve the torch from the battle in the castle of Telmar?
-and about the "too bad the people at my theater seems not to have any idea what the significance of the torch was", I had the same experience cause few only liked giggled or laugh shortly while others stared at confusion. ;))
