Alright, so the class is in a state of upheaval.... and Eustace is drawing and Jill is reading?

Jill Pole, why not? I used to sprawl out under the table like it was a camping tent and read to my heart's content. If you're allowed to do whatever you want, and you really like to draw or read, that's what you'll do. I forget who suggested that Eustace is drawing pictures of Narnia, but it would actually fit his character to a tee. That being said, a secret thrown note makes perfect sense, if say, Spivvins, or one of the other victims of "Them" is throwing it as a warning, and he doesn't want Them to see it.

@Stateofgreen: I doesn't sound like Wynyard was anything like Experiment House. If anything, it was the opposite: too strict. I always felt that Diggory was much more a representation of young Lewis than any of the other characters.

@Anhun: The only similarity I see between Wynyard and Experiment House is that the head went mad/was mad. Other than that yeah Wynyard seems horrific for too much corporal punishment.

Wynyard is the extreme opposite of Experiment House. It was quite conservative and yes, even brutual for it's time.

I don't understand why people see Eustace as an artist. His activities in the books suggest he would be more suited to the sciences. Sorry guys, I'm not trying to argue for the sake of it, just trying to make it a bit more canon.

But seriously, a person doesn't have to have an artistic personality to draw pictures of things he enjoys or places he'd rather be. Although, you are right about Eustace being more of a scientist. It might make more sense for him to be drawing some sort of blueprint or map, rather than a whimsical scene.

He can draw really badly or be doodling out of boredom. Jill can be the artistic one. I always thought she was more a literature oriented character than Eustace.

If I could see Eustace doing anything at the Ex. House, it would be him yet again writing in his journal. I just can't think of him drawing, not because he's bad at it, but it feels a little out-of-character. No, I don't want him writing in it while in Narnia, but I think it would be neat to see him writing in it at the Experiment House. We don't even need to hear what he's writing, but that kind of brings back a small reminder of VDT, just as Ed's Torch did so in VDT. If we did hear what was in it, it might be a good place to show that what he writes is much better than before like in the last movie.

Liking the embelishing idea Jill_Pole, it would be a great link for fans to the previous film, IF SC WAS NEXT (Which it isn't apparently )
Oh, how i long for SC, it is just such a good story.

SC should be next. it'e the next after VotDT. it's got Eustace in it. Will Poulter's getting older (and taller!)! they need to do it next!

I guess as more the days go by, the less likely we'll ever see SC after VDT. This isn't really the place to discuss this, but I hope we'll see it someday, with hopes that it'll be done right (we hope), Will P. comes back (now that SC's likely not being made next, we can only spectulate what'll happen to him), and it will do its part to help keep the series going.

Shastafan when you say "it" do you mean Silver Chair will do it's part to keep the series going? I really hope Will P. finds suitable parts soon if they aren't going to be ones where he's Eustace. He'll be sorely missed.

I actually don't know, stateofgreen, but we really don't know what Walden is planning to do with SC now. That's the same deal with Will P. (although I wouldn't be too suprised if they did get rid of him now ). It might not even be until after MN is out that we learn what will happen to SC. But until then, that's why I'm hopeful at the moment that SC will be justified for being done later. But who knows?
