^^Thank you Icarus, I was considering boycotting the series if they did this. #:-s There's a good chance I will if they do come back, but now that looks much more unlikely.

Seeking comic book artist, PM for details.

As for the quote, while re-reading the part about Peter and Susan, I think Michael Apted means that William and Anna "came back for a few days" to film, rather than the characters "coming back" to Narnia in the movie. As "come" would imply the future, as in "the movie is coming to theaters December 10", and came is past-tensed as in "Will and Anna came back on set to film their scene for a few days," I think it’s a fairly safe bet that we have nothing to worry about! :D

I just don't understand why Will and Anna were in the VODT trailer. It didn't look like they were in England. It looked like they were in narnian clothes!! WHYYYYYYYYYYY!!!!!!!

I honestly just wish Douglas Gresham, or Mark Johnson would just give a hint, just a hint, as to where they appear in the story!

That would be cool! ^^^ something else like the clips that were released would be nice! We'd get a good feel for where Susan and Peter appear with something like that! :D

I doubt seriously that we'll see any sort of expanded clip explaining Peter's and Susan's role in the movie. It's pretty obvious they're exploiting the non book readers' ignorance of the storyline to pull them in by making it seem Peter and Susan come back. They're not going to undermine that by revealing that it was all just a dream/flashback/etc.

Yeah, you're right Bookwyrm, wishful thinking is all that was! I think it's very clear that Peter and Susan, (as well as the White Witch) are meant to remind viewers of Narnia, as they have sort of become iconic Narnia symbols for the franchise.

It really might not be that bad in the end. The scene may make some sense in context. I agree that it seems shady to have Peter and Susan in the trailer because it makes those who have not read the book and aren't up on the film news hopeful that they will be back for this film. That is shady.

The actual scene though may be short and make sense in context. I will wait and see. The film is not going to be really close to the book. I think that is fairly obvious at this point. I just want it to be a good film.

I'll just say that I certainy don't think that this scene will ruin the entire movie.

The scene could ruin the entire film, but i do think we know that Peter and Susan aren't back for this film and that there is something off about them appearing in this way, so i don't think we need to worry that they are back in Narnia. That still doesn't seem likely.

I know I know Susan and Caspian kissed. If that can happen then all things are possible.

How big do you think Peter and Susan's part will be in the England scenes? I know they were on the poster board thing, and I always assumed that this was a place the filmmakers would love to use to give them a cameo. Do you think they will be included, and how so?

If anything, I could see them cutting Peter and Susan out of those scenes despite their pictures on the huge poster or whatever, than them putting "fake" scenes of them in the trailer. :-

Either way, if it isn;t in the movie, I think its not at all right (in the moral sense.)

Maybe the shots of Peter and Susan in their English clothes is just some photographs that Lucy has.

I'd be tempted to say that i'm more confused by those pictures of Peter and Susan in the real world at the moment, then i am of the shots of them in Narnia. The Narnia shots seemingly have numerous potential explanations (Magical Illusion, Dream Sequence, etc), but i can't see where they would fit the real world shots in.

As shown in Trailer 2, the opening shot of the movie is a very deliberate transition between the Walden Media logo and a stained glass window with the same double-arch pattern replicated on it, which then rotates to show the Lampost in the stained glass window, and then pulls out to reveal Cambridge University and establish the location for the opening of the movie.

Peter and Susan obviously aren't in Cambridge - They clearly haven't changed that fact based on the new clips we've seen. So in between Edmund and Lucy out buying groceries, and the Picture in the Bedroom scene, i can't see why or how they would possibly cut to Peter or Susan in whatever locations they may be for a "real world" scene featuring those two.

I might be tempted to say they would appear at the end of the movie, as it might provide a nice humourous moment to end the movie on, similar to the Professor at the end of LWW (e.g. "What have you three been up to then?"), but that would still require Peter and Susan to be in Cambridge, as they have never allowed the movie to drag for more than a few minutes after leaving Narnia. Perhaps Peter and Susan could ring the doorbell having come to pick Edmund and Lucy up? It does seem to be established in the movie that Edmund and Lucy have been staying with the Scrubs for some time by the point we first join them.

Alternatively, it could however be the case that both the shots of Peter and Susan in the "real world" and the shots of Peter and Susan in Narnia, are part of the same sequence - i.e. that as part of a Magician's Book illusion, that there is some sort of transition between them in the real world and them in Narnia (it is established in the novel that Coriakin's Book can "see" into the real world, as evidence by the bit with Lucy eavesdropping on her two school friends).

Or as Valiant said, it could just be something they made up for the poster... or as decarus said, it could just be some photos that Edmund or Lucy have in their possesion
