I really don't think it is a flashback.
I also don't think it makes sense that they would have thrones outside at the lone islands. I guess they could have thrones there, but why outside. It is possible that these thrones were brought for them when they were there and are not something permanent.
There are no clouds in the sky. There is only the open sun and the Lord watches.
^ Exactly what you said at the end. Like what they did for Miraz in PC.
I am still not buying. I mean in the case of miraz they are dueling and Edmund also brings a stool. I just think that these thrones are evenly spaced just like in Cair Paravel and i don't think it makes sense that they would be sitting like that.
I also don't think flashbacks work in general unless they are about a very important event and whatever is going on here doesn't look like an important enough event for it to be a flashback.
It is all so bizarre that i guess anything is possible. I still think it is more likely to be a dream or a nightmare.

So far, there weren't any flashbacks in the Narnia films, yet then again the director has changed, so this option remains open, though I crinkle my nose at it... I suppose it's my great love for Susan and Peter coming still from the childhood times of reading the books speaking and wanting them to appear. I once, a long-long time ago suggested an inconceivable idea that since someone from the production said they borrow things from various books, the Pevensies could die and go to Aslan's Country at the end of this film. But that presents two major difficulties - how would Edmund and Lucy die (and what of Eustace then?), and how would LB then look without their great return. Though there's one plus for me in it, since I always believed Susan found her way into Narnia, as Lewis himself said, her story was not yet finished, but the tragic fate had him dead before he managed to tell it's end.
Anyway, if they actually by some incredible weird thing die at the end of VoDT film (still seems beyond impossible to me), it could come from Aslan's Country. There would also fit the words "Your adventure begins now", for this is how Aslan's Country is shown at the end of LB. And those would be their four thrones in Aslan's Country Cair Paravel.
Word of notice - I don't very much believe it myself, but it's an option that came on me some months ago... I think I posted it in this or another thread when it was still young and had about 3 pages
I've seen the movie 9 times!!! (PC)
I've seen the movie 7 times!!! (VoDT) And loved it!

Yeah I thought of those reasons to recently. I remembered an interview with Ben Barnes saying that a few things from LB was brought into this film. I tend to cringe at this idea (ending this as a final Narnia film because they feel it probably wont do good.) But I don't think that's the case. I think it has to do with a spell in the Magician's House or in Aslan's Country as a vision by Aslan showing how they would look in his country when they die one day and can also be a part of his "There I have another name" religious view. Then I thought, wouldn't they be wearing eartly lighter tones?
IDK I'm still lost in this scene.

OK, I have a bit if a radical idea for this whole scene...my brother and I thought of it when we saw the second VDT trailer...please tell me what you think:
From what we've heard, if VDT doesn't make as big a hit as it is hoped to, the Chronicles of Narnia Film project may be discontinued. We thought that, maybe, in case this happens, the producers of the Chronicles of Narnia want to make a triumphant end to the movie series--and it really is a perfect place, because the VDT ends the Pevensies' journey to Narnia...so what I'm thinking is, that after the last scene in VDT, when Aslan is talking to Lucy, Edmund, and Eustance about their stay in Narnia and how Lucy and Edmund will not come back, it will fade into the scene of the four of them walking from their thrones (if you look closely, you can see it's the four thrones surrounded by drapes and banners), and it will be triumphant music and Aslan's voice in the background. So, in case they won't be making any more Narnia movies, they would have come to a logical end--the end of the Pevensies' time in Narnia. I honestly don't think they'll make them all die then--it just doesn't sound very logical That's the most probable idea I can come up with...I guess we'll have to wait till the movie comes out

Whilst updating some sections of the Set Rumors thread (i added a summary of information on the Bell Tower set, mainly because i was bored) i noticed that in one of the aerial photos i uploaded of various set components that were stored outside behind the Movie World Car Park at the time of shooting, you can see the 4 red and yellow pillars from the Pevensies scene lying around amongst the other bits and bobs such as the headless statues, some Narrowhaven long boats, and some tree pieces which look now to be from the Ramandu's Island set.
Its really weird because they were right there the whole time and i didn't really even notice them until just now. lol. Anyway, go check them out in the first of the two photos on this post here (the second photo shows some of the Moeraki Boulders which were present on the Movie World Set Tour and also appear to be featured in this scene): http://www.narniaweb.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=933&p=74067#p74067.
I still think the pillars are far too similar to those in Coriakin's Study to be a coincidence, but i would say i have even less ideas about what on earth could be going on having seen the new trailer, it literally makes no sense. I think the most we can say is that it is definitely not "reality" and so is either a Dream/Vision/Magical Illusion/etc
Whoa, those are the pillars! Nice find, icarus. So that means Will and Anna were there filming at the Movie World Car Park? I wonder what other cameos (if any) they filmed there...

I for one think it's a flashback to when the Pevensies were growing up in Narnia. As to where they are, perhaps the Lone Islands when they were loyal to the Narnian crown?
I agree, I think it is going to be like a dream that Edmund or Lucy has or a flashback.
so now it looks like, from the new footage on trailer 2, that there are thrones or something of the sort behind Peter Susan Edmund and Lucy! cool! I can't wait to find out what this scene is! yay! awesome!

^ very true Liberty Hoffman. I'm still confused to where they might actually appear though or if this scene will make an appearance in the film. Dream, vision, etc to me it would seem pointless to the editor to actually go into the final cut. I still want to see Susan and Peter have cameos in their own world and nowhere in Narnia.

^^ I think that since there was a new shot of the Pevensie scene in trailer 2 that it's going to be in the movie somewhere.....the question, of course, is "Where?" ack, I want to know so bad!

Ever since watching the second trailer and seeing the thrones, I'm leaning more towards the theory that this might be a scene from the Golden Age, they look sort of...kingly? They have very gentle but authoritative expressions, the only thing that throws me off is that Edmund and Lucy are wearing their VODT clothing, although Lu's hair appears to be different.

After seeing the Pevensies in the first trailer, I thought that maybe the sequence had been shot just to be put in the trailer; after seeing the same shots in the second trailer, I have concluded that this will DEFINITELY make it into the movie!
