I know that's why Born of Hope and The Search for Gollum were allowed to be filmed, but perhaps things are different with the Lewis estate. I have no idea really.

Just a little thing to add about this abandoned fan-film idea....I thought it was okay to use material as long as you make no profit from it???

It varies from company to company. The C.S. Lewis Estate is one of the most strict I've encountered. That's why we've never taken the chance and allowed fan fiction on this site.

But in answer to the original question asked in the title, I suspect that NarniaWeb would stick around even if only to archive the materials, and I also suspect the forum would keeping going as well. :)

Should the franchise fall apart and not complete all seven movies, I think that it's possible that in another 15-20 years someone else would pick it up and try again. Would we be around then? Who knows? ;))

If NW ever goes dry and we do make a fan made movie...we should do Lion Party fund raisers for it so that we could get all the stuff... ;)

We could always just talk about the books. But the thing about the movies is that there is always new information on them, so we have something new to talk about. I hope we get SC at least. :-s

Narniaweb will go on.

When the films end, be that tomorrow or in 2020, I imagine there will still be a lot of us hanging about. I know a lot of people have really made friends hereabouts, and we'll stick around for that and, of course, for Narnia.

And I don't doubt that the series will be picked up again someday. The books were released in the '50s. The first films were made in the 60's, followed by the animated version in the 70's, and the BBC versions in the late 80's to early 90's. And then in 2001 Disney/Walden got fired up. No worries; Narnia will see the screen again, and when it does, we will be here, happy to reobsess and rediscuss.

In the meantime, we have both the BBC and Walden films to tide us over, not to mention...oh, what was that other thing? Oh, yes! The BOOKS!!!

NarniaWeb Newbie

Newbie puts two cents in:

Whether SC happens or not, it's the fans that must band together. There is power in the people. Even if movies are made if fans do not put the energy into the site/fandom/etc. then it dies regardless of filming or not. A fandom is only as strong as the people in it.

Somehow in someway, whether here or elsewhere, C.S.'s vision must live on, and we as fans must carry it on.

^^ Welcome to NarniaWeb! :D And we're gald to hear your two cents! :D

From what it sounds like, Narnia gets re-booted every decade... :-o That's kinda cool.
So if the franchise gets cancelled, all we have to do is, hehe, wait ten years. #:-s

Plus, if we all stick together, we might not have to wait that long. Some filmmaker out there somewhere must be a Narnia fan... maybe even a NarniaWebber! There are lots of great amateur filmmakers on here. Maybe one of them will be the next CoN producer or director!!! :D :D (I've got my eye on you MinotaurforAslan, lol) ;)
