[Closed] The Future of NarniaWeb (If SC doesn't get greenlit...)

We would not be allowed to use anything that is copyright, i.e. the names, locations, stories and themes of the Narnia books. We probably couldn't even use the name "NarniaWeb" in a title of a production.

Sorry. Just thought I'd throw this spanner into the works earlier rather than later. :(

There, shining in the sunrise, larger than they had seen him before, shaking his mane (for it had apparently grown again) stood Aslan himself.

^^ I'm sure the members could if it wasn't an official NarniaWeb movie... right? There are a lot of fan-made films on Youtube... like Narnianerd said about Star Wars.

Well we couldn't use the site to do it EJ, otherwise the mods/ admin/ members could get into some serious trouble...

Since the fan movie is a bust, allow me to direct us back to the original topic, since I think it is really interesting. What would happen to NW? Maybe we would just do a lot more reading groups?

Or more things like Loesrm & the monestary...

You know even if they are all made, and VDT and SC don't flop... what's gonna hapen to NW after LB?

What if NW remained a site for the existing movies, or even the books? There are already a lot of fan sites and forums already just for the books, and they manage to stay alive even though there's nothing new coming out about the books. If the movies stopped, we could just talk about the movies that have already been made.

And here I was thinking we'd gotten over most of the overly pessimistic threads before the movie came out.

Not pessimistic. Just wondering, and taking precautions. :) After all, the movies wont be coming out forever, just like wolfy said. But I do hope NarniaWeb will be around anyway! :D

I always assumed that, if SC or MN weren't greenlit for traditional film production, that Walden and the Lewis Estate would pursue a made for TV movie.

what a depressing thread, but even if all 7 books get the blockbuster film treatment, there will eventually be no films to look forward too. I guess just make it a Narnia fan site in general.

I say we keep going. I mean, there's no more star wars movies being made and star wars fans haven't stopped being fans! why should it be any different for us?

I say, we cross that river when we come to it. Regardless of what happens, it will be several years before we'd even come to a place where we'd have to figure out "what's next". And regardless, no one should worry...Narniaweb isn't going anywhere. Just look at all the LotR fansites that kept thriving between the time when RotK was released and the Hobbit rumors began.

And even if they don't make SC (25% chance in my opinion), I wouldn't despair. Because eventually, some day, somehow, the franchise will get rebooted. They always do. :) And then we could have the fun of anticipating these movies all over again.

So, like I said...let's cross that river when we come to it, okay? :)

So, we can't make a fan adaptation because of copyrights, huh? What if we made one called The Chronicles of Farnia? If we make enough changes to the names, we might slip it by copyright laws. I'd like doing that!

I sure hope this site doesn't die if SC doesn't get made!!!!! :-o
we all still love Narnia and we still will always have the books and the movies of LWW, PC, and VotDT! so we will still have stuff to discuss! :D

I think we should all get together and film our own movie of SC!

Yes that is a distinct possibility once SC has been given the movie treatment. You see, the remaining three books haven't gone into any sort of production, whether cinema or a much cheaper television version. BBC stopped with SC. We will have to wait and see what happens after next Tuesday.
