[Closed] The BIG Question... THE SILVER CHAIR?

The BIG Question is, will there be a new Silver Chair film? Based on current figures Narnia VOD sits at $66,082,170 Domestic, and $165,021,702 Foreign, for a worldwide total of $231,103,872, at this rate and with the new yrs weekend approaching we can probably expect VDT to pass $100mill domestically at the end of its run.

Now Fox has hinted at SC already, but lets face it no really knows, so... my question is...

Why will SC be made? or Why wont SC be made... keeping in mind that VDT slips in daily takings at the box office are pretty small, and its chugging along pretty well, but also that it got off to such a hugely dissapointing start!

So what do u think will happen?

I think we will see a Silver Chair, Fox has always wanted a Fantasy franchise under thier belt, and they now have one, and VODT si shaping up to be Fox's biggest domestic release for this year, so why would you dump it? i know its not performing like we would hope, but there are many reasons why this could be, weather for one seems to be a liable reason, and perhaps bitter tastes left from Prince Caspian for a lot of people meant they would not give DT a look... But of course our best bet to see another Narnia is to go and see it as many times as we can afford, and continue to spread good word on the film, not just sit and watch the numbers! But i am confident we will beseeing the Silver Chair in the not too distant future!

Despite DTs lower-than-hoped-for initial numbers, I am still optimistic only because Dawn Treader might be Fox's highest grossing domestic movie of the year! So they would be throwing away one of their bigger franchises if they didn't continue. However, if 'The Chronicles of Narnia: The Silver Chair' beats the odds and gets green lit then that is only half the challenge. Winter 2012 appears to be a murderers row with the impending release of 'The Hobbit'.. And we all know how people like to compare Narnia with LOTR with both being high fantasy and all. Then there are animated 'princess' movies - Pixar's 'Brave' (formerly The Bear And The Bow) and Disney's 'The Snow Queen'.. So yikes, SC would be getting attacked from all fronts if it gets lucky enough to see the silver screen.
