"I, Liberty Hoffman, solemnly swear that in the days leading up to the December 10th release of Dawn Treader that I will reserve critique and judgment until after the end credits have rolled and I have left the theater. I will also spend a little time to reflect on the movie before deciding my feelings.
Signed, Liberty Hoffman"
I am with wolfloversk: I can't not read the book (too late! I have read it over and over this past week alone! )!

"I, Narnianerd; solemnly swear that in the days leading up to the December 10th release of Dawn Treader, I will read the book or listen to the audio drama. I also swear that I will critique and judge the movie before I ever enter the theater and I will also know what I want and judge instantly on whether I like the movie or not
Why would I change the oath? Because, I believe that every fan should go into the theaters with an open but pessimistic view on the movie. For we, the fans of the epic masterpeice, The Voyage of the Dawn Treader have the right to the general awesomeness of the film.
So I reserve my right to be pessimistic and critical while still expecting the Voyage to be awesome.
Signed, Narnianerd"

Since I fully intend to read the book shortly before I see the movie (I like to have my mind fresh for comparison when I attend any book-based film), I'll do the modified version:
I, geekprincess, solemnly swear that in the days leading up to the December 10th release of Dawn Treader, I will reserve critique and judgment until after the end credits have rolled and I have left the theater. I will also spend a little time to reflect on the movie before deciding my feelings.

By the way, Invisible Woman, thank you for starting this topic! I find it refreshing to have stumbled upon like-minded posters who wish to judge the movie only after they have seen it.

I, RoseRed solemnly swear that in the days leading up to the December 10th release of Dawn Treader that I will reserve critique and judgment until after the end credits have rolled and I have left the theater. I will also spend a little time to reflect on the movie before deciding my feelings.

this is a really good idea, keeping a positive attitude, whilst not having high expectations I cut out the book bit though, like wolfoversk and others, I would still like to read it beforehand, as I believe I can compare the book and movie, without dimming my enjoyment of either
Grief for the movies made me abandon narniaweb...but I'm so glad to be back!
Many thanks to the wonderful Lady Eowyn for making my sig/av.
I'm not sure what you mean by "deciding my feelings." I'm going to feel a certain way about the movie after I see it. I don't decide to feel good or bad.
How could I judge a movie I haven't seen? Once a movie starts, all the expectations and speculation goes out the window. Who needs expectations and speculation when the movie is playing right in front of you?
I'm gonna go see the movie and I really hope it's awesome.
"I, Quinlin, solemnly swear that in the days leading up to the December 10th release of Dawn Treader, I will not read the book or listen to the audio drama. I also swear that I will reserve critique and judgment until after the end credits have rolled and I have left the theater. I will also spend a little time to reflect on the movie before deciding my feelings.
Signed, Quinlin!
I never judge a film, especially not the Chronicles regardless of what others say and how the promotional material and trailers portray it. I will always be a loyal fan of Narnia and even accept certain plot changes from the original books. As an aspiring film maker, it is often necessary to make changes because certain scenes and parts of books often do not make sense or convey the right meaning in the film as they do on the page.
So, with VDT only a month away....I am truly looking forward to this beautiful film and will be supportive and anticipating it without any doubts that it will be the amazing and powerful film it is destined to be!
We have nothing, if not belief.
