I know that on voyages and cabin fever starts to set in people actually start singing to themselves. I think it will come across to being cute if Ben sung a low note of something instead of busting into a High School Music song where there is an orchestra. Besides Ben can sang!!!

This sounds like a questionable idea, unless it were some kind of beer drinking Narnian folk song similar to the hobbits in Lord of the Rings. Besides, this is an epic fantasy movie, not 'Princess and the Frog'.

Well... the only thing I have to say is, "why?" Why should he sing? And who would care? I really would rather someone with a reputation and business in that line to do it... I think it would be better that way.

I agree Shy Galadriel. I don't think Ben should sing. There is no point, and in my opinion, he doesn't have a very good voice anyway.

I have to disagree with that and Shy Galadriel.
Ben Barnes had started in a professional choir since 1996 and was on a legitimate singing talent show. If he can sing in a film before he can most certainly do it again without interfering his reputation since he does have a passion in both Acting and singing.

Ah, I stand corrected... I knew that he was in a boy-band but I had no idea about his level of talent... I figured he went into acting because he was much better at it. In that case he has my permission to sing a really good, appropriate song AFTER the movie DURING the credits... and only if they can't find anyone better.
Anyhow. I think that the likelihood of him singing is still small... 'Cause they're wanting original songs and they'd have to hire somebody to write the song for him to sing. It would be cheaper to hire somebody to both write their own song and sing it.

DamselJillPole: no I haven't. I only heard that one boy band song, which was rather painful. But I agree wtih Shy Galadriel- during the credits would be fine I suppose, but I don't see it happening.

okay, as much as the song he sang for a day in that band was silly, he does have a good voice! I think that if they had him sing, it would be well worth it!
