I was thinking more like the way Pippin in LOTR sang for Denethor or Aragorn when he was crowned and he sang.....Ben could do some thign like that! I don't mean he should do a pop song!

Lark: agreed.
But if he were singing to woo or attract RD, that's a different story.
I would find that creepy *shudders*
I think it would be ok if he sang a song in the credits or something but him singing in the actual movie, i think it would just be weird. I mean, he has a pretty good voice but I think it would be very strange if he "burst" into song. I think it would ruin the feel of the movie. And since I'm all about keeping the movie like the book, I would be against it, but not against him singing in the credits, or even the beginning of the movie.
Lovin' Ben anyway!!

Oh, like he could hide under her window at night and start singing, possibly with a guitar and she comes out on her balcony (because there simply must be a balcony) and gazes down at him singing to her in the moonlight and the gushy romantic background music starts playing and they spend the next few minutes just gazing into each others eyes? Is that what you meant?

Oh,stop it! I can't breathe, you're making me laugh so hard!
No singing to Ramandu's daughter. I simply won't have it. Too awkward.
I just had a scary though: what if Fox tries to turn this into the next "Phantom of the Opera"? Caspian could be Raoul,RD could be Christine, and we'd have to find an Erik. Reepicheep, perhaps? lol
Oh!! Eddie Izzard could maybe sing. He sounds like he'd make a nice tenor.
I just had a scary though: what if Disney tries to turn this into the next "Phantom of the Opera"?
Now I'm really confused, Disney's not even in the films anymore. Unless of course you knew that and your joking (Alas I can never get jokes)

Whoopsie. Iknew itjust slippedmy mind. Thanks for catching my mistake,I changed it to "Fox."
that would be BAD Lark
Someone has handily uploaded one of the singing scenes from "Master & Commander" onto YouTube, which will help me illustrate my earlier point about expanding upon the "singing catches or telling stories" quote from the book. Its not perhaps the exact M&C singing scene i was thinking of when i made the previous suggestion, but it will do the job:
Can you not just picture a scene in which the Dawn Treader crew are sat around in the main cabin or out on the deck, when Caspian or Drinian starts to lead the crew in an old Narnian sea shanty. All the crew join in, boisterously singing in turn.... all except for Eustace who is sitting sulkily in the corner, refusing to take part. In that one small moment you could pretty much encapsulate everything there is to know about Eustace as a character early on in the story.
Later on in the movie you could further develop the singing theme by doing a scene in which the newly reformed Eustace does join in with the crew, perhaps even leading on a few lines. That again would give you a very short, neat and clear way to illustrate the before and after of Eustace's character development.
Master and Commander includes at least 3 singing scenes that i recall, so it should be of no trouble to fit two small scenes into Dawn Treader. Not that i think they will (i'd be pretty certain they haven't) just that i think it might of been nice if they had.
It would be cool if they did so, but yeah they probably didn't
Yes, I can definitely see those sort of singing scenes working well in VDT. Like you said, its rather doubtful that any such scene will actually occur, but a little 'what-if' speculation never hurts.
Master & Commander is a good movie... now that you got me thinking about it, I might have to go watch it. It's been awhile.

Yeah I think that might work, fun fact we started watching that movie in my bio class, but we haven't finished it yet

It is a good movie. You guys should watch it . Now I really want this to happen
icarus: I have seen that movie and that scene is a better illistration of what I mean by Ben singing in Narnia. though I hope he doesn't play a vilolin! that would be silly!
