Along with the White Witch!
Narrator: Enemies will unite! The White Witch and Calormen will form a deadly duo of shivering snow and scorching sand!
I don't think they'd go as far as to work the White Witch into HHB ads. You can bet they'll milk Mr. Tumnus, the beavers and the fox for as much as they're worth, though.
Plus there's the risk of it backfiring on them and enraging the Anna and Will fans.
That's what doesn't make sense to me. Even if they successfully convince people that the movie will be awesome because Peter and Susan will be back, won't those same people be royally ticked off after viewing the film, realizing that Peter and Susan don't really play much of a part in the story, and giving it bad word of mouth?
I agree minotaurforaslan, I;m sure I quite understand the thinking behind this :/
Grief for the movies made me abandon narniaweb...but I'm so glad to be back!
Many thanks to the wonderful Lady Eowyn for making my sig/av.
I wonder if that kind of advertising is what is behind the low box office numbers - at least contributing heavily.

I wish this scene had been in the film and had worked. The fact that it was only in the trailer means that quite a bit of worrying and discussion was wasted.
...Or maybe the production actually took us seriously and cut out a scene which didn't belong? I doubt that we Narnia fans hold that much power, but still...

How about the scene we saw being filmed, where someone is lurking around the Narrowhaven wharves? (see photo below) If I remember right, we at first thought that was Caspian, but now I'd say it's Rhince.

For all we know it will show up int he video game or will be used as some sort of flashback in later films. Deleted scene? Maybe it was some sort of flashback that was cut out?
I always assumed it was a flashback.

What about the shot we saw in the first trailer of Reepicheep running up the ship's mast? The only thing we get that is even remotely close to that is when we see Reepicheep running up right before he stabs Dragon Eustace's hand. The following shot in both this scene in the film and the trailer, shows Reepicheep smiling, and looking content with himself. These shots appear to be very similar.

The fact that the shot with the four Pevensies in Narnian clothes wasn't in the film actually kind of bothered me. I was annoyed that I had speculated on that scene wondering what it was, only to find out it was nothing...
The deceptive marketing was not very honest but furthurmore, it doesn't even seem to be working.

Don't forget Lilliandil's famous "The fate of Narnia depends on you". I kept waiting for her to say that.

Well remembered! Part of me really hopes there is a longer cut of the movie out there, lying on the editing room floor at 20th Century Fox where the Lone Islands sequence actually makes sense.... correction - where the entire movie actually makes sense.

But by then they would have already paid for the ticket, I guess that's the point of false advertising
Not saying that's what they were doing, just what they point would be.
In many of the trailers for the movie in the scene where Edmund and Lucy come onto the DT, Caspian introduces them as King and Queen of Narnia yet in the actual film he says the High King and Queen of Narnia. Did anyone else notice?

But it might spread bad word of mouth and maybe even lessen the chance of those people watching the next Narnia movie.

Well yes, but right now this has reminded me of "Bridge to Terabithia". The marketing was pretty misleading there too, to make it look like a big epic fantasy film, when it was more of a drama.
The question is: Does false advertising work? At least some studios seem to think that, or else it wouldn't happen. Simple
