[Closed] Scene of the Four Pevensies

Narniawebbers probably remember very well the shots from the trailer that featured all four of the Pevensies in Narnian clothes walking together. We pondered over and discussed those shots for quite some time. It now appears that we may be able to see just what that scene may have been all about.

Narnia Fans may have provided the answer:
■Deleted Scene 11 – The Kids in Narnian Clothes (28 sec)

Thoughts?

-movie trailer editor sifts through folders of clips in the database-

Hrrmms, I already have all four kids in England clothes. We need a scene with all four of them in Narnia clothes!

-picks up phone-

Yo Apted, you need to add a scene with the kids in Narnian clothes. No, they don't need to be doing anything, except maybe walking slowly towards the camera with the window blowing in their hair and a tough, I'm-so-awesome look on their faces. No, it doesn't matter what's in the background, just throw some random crud that looks Narnian behind them. What? A scene with just the kids walking around in Narnian clothes doesn't fit in the script you've written that has a torrid pace and doesn't waste any moments? Just film the scene anyway. What's that? Hey, buddy, I work for Fox. I can have your film converted to 3D! Oh wait, we're already doing that. Well, if you don't film the scene, then we'll cut out all the scenes with Caspian from the movie. Seriously, why didn't you feature the White Witch more in this film? She'd sell way more DVDs then that scraggly king guy. Oh well, just film the scene and your life will be spared.

-1 week later-

Hmm, new folder of clips in the database. "The Kids in Narnian Clothes"! Perfect!

I'm trying hard not to die laughing at the editor post! =))

I agree. What is the deal all four Pevensies in Narnian clothes? I mean, if it was only Edmund, Lucy, and Eustace, but this just seems like an odd way to show all of the Pevensies... :p

on the list of deleted scenes this particular scene is listed as Scene 11. This mend it has to take place before they get to Narnia, and therefore must be a dream of Lucy's

I got the impression that this would be a scene depicting Lucy and Edmund changing into their Narnian clothes for the first time upon the Dawn Treader - and showing Eustace refusing to change out of his English clothes.

I don't agree that the scene numbering indicates it would have to occur before they get to Narnia as there can't be more than 5 or 6 scenes in the real world in the movie. I also don't see how the 4 Pevensies shot from the trailer could ever fit into the movie as it is, given the nature of the costumes and set design featured in it.

you're right, Icarus. I have a hard time recognizing how long a "scene" actually is. Would the first scene end after Edmund and Lucy talk by the bike, and the second would begin with Eustace writing/reading his diary?

This is odd. When I saw this scene in the trailer I was convinced it was in the movie despite what others said about it being just created for the trailer. I was a little upset that it wasn't in the movie because I had spent so much time trying to figure out what it was all about only to find it wasn't even in the movie. :p

And now....its a deleted scene?? :- =))
I can't wait to see the scene just to see what this is about...

Honestly I don't think they ever intended the scene to be in the movie. They just filmed it for the trailers to make it seem like Susan and Peter were back. But of course they didnt want to be accused of false advertising so they labled it a "deleted scene" and probably made up some story about how it was suppossed to be a flashback or dream.

Josh, those are some interesting and very plausible thoughts. I wonder if the scene will be shown in isolation like in the trailer or if it will be put in context to see where they originally wanted (or if Josh is right, then where they have now decided) it to fit in the movie.

I was thinking that they put Susan and Peter in so that the film would be more familiar to other viewers who saw Prince Caspian...because I was looking at the trailer and trying to view it from a non Narnia addicts view and I guess that you would maybe not be able to tell what it was...after all, no other Narnia films have really ever had much emphasis on the sea and no other islands have realy ever been mentioned!

This irritated me because I was thinking 'what are they doing back?' Aslan clearly said that 'they have learned what they can from this world (Narnia) and now it is time for them to live in there own' I don't think that them in Narnia can be fitted into the story at all... (please no more flash backs or dream sequences- they are so cliched an the Susan/Lucy, peter and edmund in America one was enough for me!!!)

Just a thought :)

Narnia is childhood...

Seriously, just give the kid the orange. He needs his vitamin C!
