You want to know how to save the franchise? Get rid of the screenwriters.,.
While I agree with you completely, this thread is more about how fans can help to save the franchise, not what improvements need to be done to future installments of the series. There are already plenty of threads on that topic.

Some things that help:
1: Buy VDT tickets and invite friends to see it
2: Rate the movie
3: Buy 10 tickets and sell them for half price
4: Buy Narnia VDT stuff
5: When the DVD comes out, buy some and give them as a presente ( maybe a late Christmas present )
6: Download Narnia VDT music
7: WATCH THE MOVIE AS MANY TIMES AS YOU FEEL LIKE IT!
HELP SAVE SILVER CHAIR! WATCH VDT!

Announce that Johnny Depp is cast as Marswiggle, that Warner Bro's is taking over the series, announce that lindsey lohan is cast as jill pole, give eustace a lightsaber, oh and go see it IMAX3D and give the 3d glasses back.
Other than that see VDT as much as possible, pray, and start up conversations revolving around narnia, aslan, cs lewis, or narniasomething dot com.
That's about all a person can do to contribute to the making of silver chair.
I've seen VDT 3 times!

All right people! We have an event planned! This weekend, (Martin Luther King Jr. Day Weekend) we are planning a worldwide Narnia Fan event. See the link below for more details.
http://forum.narniaweb.com/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=2595&start=16
As we've said before, find friends who haven't seen the film yet and encourage them to go this weekend, and see it one final time in theaters yourself.
Talk to teachers, students, church members and everyone to encourage them to see the film this weekend!
Let's propel Dawn Treader well past the $100 million mark!

I put up an event on Facebook, inviting people to see Voyage of the Dawn Treader
made by katherine
I am so doing this. We should have done this for PC. We should definitely do it for Silver Chair. I if they make it.
I will try my best to attend to see VDT again this weekend! The event is a FANTASTIC idea!

Yes, indeed! This is the right spirit. Thanks!! It gives me renewed hope.
The Narnia films are good. Perhaps not flawless, but good. And representing good values. I'm a teacher in Denmark, and I'm sad when I hear what kind of films my young pupils watch, at least in my country. That's one reason why I really want to support the Narnia films!! I've told everybody about it.
So go see the film, it's worth it. Thanks again, all supporters!
I'll try my best to see the movie tomorrow! but if not this weekend I will see it again!!

Great!! Thanks to all, doing what they can, to support this film!!
I didn't plan to see the film so many times, but I'll actually be seeing it for the 7th time tomorrow! A friend wanted to see it, so I'll go with her.
Together we can save the SC, I believe that very strongly!! See the VDT film several times, recommend it to others, write on the internet, facebook etc. It works!!
We can do it!!
SC is my (or one of) my favourite books in the series. I'm really eager to see this book become a film. Will Poulter's performance as Eustace was just spot-on, so having him ad Eustace in SC will be amazing to see. Also SC is among the easiest books to turn into cinematic experience. Its very plot driven and doesn't have any contrived plot elements that could possibly hinder a proper adaptation. (Something that unfortunately PC and VDT had).
Regardless, I've seen the movie three times and I will by the Blu-Ray when its finally released. Thankfully it will be soon. Narniawebbers, we must suport VDT, even if some didn't like it. If we want to see the series been made, we must give it all out support. And thankfully SC is a great book to adapt, so there is a high probability that if they get the proper director and a great cast to perform Jill Pole, SC could easily become one of the best Narnian adaptations. Lets support the series, the series will not continue if we do not give it our support.

I just want to be hidden in the shadows... this silence; this cold.
I don't want to appear rude, but...
Please, don't obsess over trying to help VDT be successful. If you're giving the movie good word of mouth by talking about it or posting about it on facebook a few times that's fine, but if you're pouring in all your extra money into tickets for VDT and dragging every friend you possibly can with you for the sole purpose of helping VDT become successful...frankly, you're wasting your time.
The number one priority of the Narnia films is not our personal enjoyment. It is to provide profits to the studios and their investors. It is Walden Media's responsibility to make sure that the film is profitable (i.e. a quality product) and it is Fox's responsibility to distribute and advertise the film and make sure that people actually spend money on tickets, merchandise, DVDs and Blu-Rays.
It is not your responsibility to make VDT a success. Honestly, it's not going to make any significant difference whether you promote the film casually or promote the film obsessively. Let's say that 25 of you people here on NarniaWeb have each brought along 10 friends that wouldn't have come otherwise That's an extra 275 tickets. At an average of $10 a ticket, let's say, that would equal an additional $2,750 at the box office.
In order to add $1 million to the box office, we would need almost 400 times that amount. And $1 million isn't going to make any sort of significant difference in a film that looks to make about $400 million worldwide. In order to really make a difference, we'd probably need in the range of an additional $50 million at the box office (which would pay for approximately one fourth of VDT's marketing budget). That would require fifty thousand fans bringing along an additional 10 people. There's just no way that's going to happen.
Now, a response to this might be, "Every little bit helps." Although that is true when the people contributing their little bit are numerous, the hardcore Narnia fanbase that would obsessively promote the film to help it financially is just too small, plain and simple. If VDT fails, it is the fault of Fox and their crappy marketing campaign, which spat in the face of us hard-core fans, the very people that this topic expects to save VDT, by feeding us lies that the White Witch was the main villain, that enemies would unite and that all four Pevensies would return.
I have seen the film three times, and I didn't even like it. The decision to makes SC or not make SC will not hinge upon whether I see the film for a fourth time. It will hinge upon whether non-Narnia fans go out and see this movie, since they are a much larger demographic.
I really hope this post didn't come off as rude. I just don't want you guys wasting your hard-earned money. If you are still committed to helping VDT, just mail Fox a flipping check. That way they'll get 100% of the money. When you buy a ticket, half the money will go to the theater.
While I agree that one should not waste all of their money on tickets for the sole purpose of trying to make a film successful, I will say that there is nothing wrong with a person going to see the film several times if they truly enjoy the film. Nor is there anything wrong with bringing friends along. You didn't enjoy the film and don't feel like seeing it again. That is fine. But some people did enjoy the film, so let's not lecture them on how they should spend their own money.
Word of mouth is always the best way to promote a film. A marketing campaign can succeed or fail. It is word of mouth that truly gets people to go to the theaters. I think this thread is primarily dedicated to encouraging the NarniaWebbers who want to see a continuation of the franchise to spread that positive word about VDT. One positive word from a total stranger can be enough to change your entire opinion of a film. I know personally, because it did.
Your multiplication above is correct, but you are failing to take exponential increase into account. Sure, if 25 of us brought along 10 friends that would only be 275 tickets, but you must be assuming that each friend wouldn't like the film, because you are only accounting for them seeing the film once. Also, you're forgetting that if a friend likes a film very much, it is likely that they'll tell other friends, which may then lead to them seeing the film and telling their friends and so on...
Thus there is no need for sarcasm. I have no intention of mailing Fox any free money under the hope that it will somehow help them finance SC. But I refuse to feel bad for seeing a film, and encouraging friends to see a film, that I honestly did like.
