Guys, we've GOT to help SC along! What can we do to convince the producers to make the other 4 Narnia films?? Help me!

According to my clock here, the Dawn Treader should have well and truly berthed in USA. It isn't December 9th anymore, it is the 10th.
Happy viewing of VDT everyone. That will be the best way to save SC.
Go to the theatre a couple times and buy ten copies of the DVD per person in your family.... write letters..... sign petitions...
I really really hope they make the whole series!
"Lucy, have you seen this ship before?"
"Yes! It's very Narnian-looking, isn't it?"
I'm having a hard time with this one. I want them to make Silver Chair and the others but only if they keep true to the story unlike Dawn Treader. I have only seen the trailer for Dawn Treader but what I have seen of it does not inspire confidence that Silver Chair or the others would fair any better on the big screen. I have several issues with Dawn Treader and am truthfully wondering if I will even go and see it.
waggawerewolf27, Actually it's still the ninth.
Convince them that if it wasn't this week, I would have watched it on the midnight showing, and that when I do see it (next week) I shall see it three times at least and bring a different person each time.
Seriously though petitions...lots of them... have pen and paper ready.
And letters maybe...
"Dear Filmmakers,
I love the CoN films, please make more! I can't describe to you how much that would mean to me.
Sincerely,
wolf"
And if all else fails, show up at Fox's doorstep begging and crying
(PS there is a VDT book ad at the bottom of this page right now- I think this is the first actual Narnia ad I've seen on NW , not including newsstories)
"The mountains are calling and I must go, and I will work on while I can, studying incessantly." -John Muir
"Be cunning, and full of tricks, and your people will never be destroyed." -Richard Adams, Watership Down
well, just see the movie as many times as you can while it's in theaters!

What upsets me is that people think if Dawn Treader is unfaithful to the source material, so will the rest of the series. Thats not true.
Prince Caspian and the Voyage of the Dawn Treader are the least cinematic of all of the Narnia books. The former due to odd structuring and the latter due to lack of a main driving plot.
Silver Chair, Horse and His Boy, and Magician's Nephew have none of those problems.

Speaking as someone who has seen the movie (no spoilers, honest,) I encourage you to see the film before you judge it. See it in 2D, don't spend too much money on it if you aren't sure you'll love it. But do yourself a huge favor and go see it. Yes, they changed a few things in the story, but after seeing it I can tell you that the story is still VERY MUCH The Chronicles of Narnia: The Voyage of the Dawn Treader that we all know and love. For me, personally, everything I loved about the book was there. Nothing was really lost. It's hard to explain.
Apted's quote was correct. In some respects they stayed very close to the source material and in others not at all. But it was so close even with the changes. It felt like Narnia. It felt like VDT and I think you're really missing something good if you don't see it.
Hey we could all make t-shirts with various taglines about saving the movie series...
"The mountains are calling and I must go, and I will work on while I can, studying incessantly." -John Muir
"Be cunning, and full of tricks, and your people will never be destroyed." -Richard Adams, Watership Down
We could gather nuts!!! And throw them at the Telmarines!!!!!
sorry that quote just came in my mind.
Seriously though, the best way to save the franchise it to support it. In order to make the series, they need money. If we tell them to keep making the series yet we don't support it that would be senseless. Why tell them to make something you won't support? If we beg them to keep making the series when they lack the funds, they may want to make it but they won't go anywahere without the money and support.
It reminds me of the place in the Bible where it talks about faith without works. It says that faith without works is like seeing a person who's starving and naked in the cold and saying "I wish you well, brother! Keep warm and well fed." and going on about your day doing nothing to help the poor soul.
I am not saying that we are doing that. I believe a lot of us want to support the franchise. Don't get me wrong I think the filmmakers are a long way from being poor and all that. I am just saying it does no good to write letters and beg the filmmakers to make more films if we won't support VDT with our $$$ That is the language that speaks the loudest in the film industry.
The trick is to go see it and go see it often. My mom jokingly suggested that I just buy VDT tickets for all my friends this Christmas... might not be such a bad idea...
I saw LWW probably 5 times....maybe everyone seeing VDT five times at least will help it.
If for some reason the other films don't get made, it'd be nice to see them made for TV with Will Poulter still as Eustace of course....maybe they could make it longer because the TV miniseries format lends itself to that. And they could include more of the source material. Just a thought...

Let's all go and see the movie as many times as we can, AND take different people each time. I have taken two groups of 10 so far....
Word of mouth advertising in person and in churches or other groups - let them know it's a great film! Suitable for children, just as the books were written for children.
There, shining in the sunrise, larger than they had seen him before, shaking his mane (for it had apparently grown again) stood Aslan himself.
"...when a willing victim who had committed no treachery was killed in a traitor's stead, the Table would crack and Death itself would start working backwards."
Facebook. Twitter. Myspace. If you have any of those, use them to tell people about VDT.
I'm gonna be going w/ my whole family, my mom's friend, my friend and her brother and sister. That's a start!

I'm definitely going to see this movie at least 5 times. Even if I don't like it I want the next one to get made. I can't believe how someone would not see this movie just based on trailers. If you truly want to see the others get made, then at least see the movie before passing judgment!!
