I was on Rotten Tomatoes and noticed that they have a new feature that measures the percentage of audiences that like or want to see a film. I searched Voyage of the Dawn Treader and found this:
94% out of 55,404 people want to see this film.
Compare this with Tron Legacy:
96% out of 20,754
Of course, this might be volatile and isn't exactly the most reliable source but I still think it's pretty cool and you have to consider that Fox hasn't really been going on a huge marketing blitz for this film. So.. not bad at all. It's quite encouraging to see.

"Now we shall take the adventure that Aslan has given to us!"
That means that 52,080 people wanted to see VDT while 19,924 people wanted to see Tron Legacy, that's almost 3 times as much!

I find it interesting that LWW was given a 64% rating on Rottentomatoes, while PC got a 78%. I wonder if outside of the Narnia fanbase Prince Caspian was more liked than LWW? If this is the case, than this bodes well for VDT.

Well that's great!! Tron Legacy is starting to get too old anyways with all the publicity it's getting. I have high hopes that VDT will do very good! Silver Chair here we come!!
Long Live King Caspian & Queen Liliandil Forever!
Jill+Tirian! Let there be Jilrian!
This is very encouraging!!!!! I have high hopes for Dawn Treader!!!!!! It is kidoff funny that it is called Rotten Tomatoes and VDT has gotten the best review yet from them.LOL!!!!!!

Yes, it's true. I actually didn't encounter any widespread discontent with PC until I started lurking on fansites like NarniaWeb. When PC came out I just hung around on general movie sites, and most people I heard commenting on the film found it stronger than LWW. With VDT being the book most people are familiar with after LWW, I think VDT has a very good shot at re-igniting the franchise and capturing a renewed interest.

Not all people resent Prince Caspian; I actually like the film more than LWW. But im more intrested in seeing how those number compare to the Harry Potter film and Rapunzel (Tangled).

Well, those were just the audiences' reaction to the films. The mainstream audiences tend to be lenient when it comes to films. It's not an entirely accurate indication whether a movie is good or bad. If you read the professional movie critics' take on it, you would see LWW rating being significantly higher than PC.

Well from what I see from the site:
Harry Potter: The Deathly Hallows currently holds a 95% out of 108,537 that wants to see this film. No surprise there since the HP franchise has always been rolling in money.
Tangled holds a 92% out of 2241 people that wants to see it.
As usual, these information should be held with a kernel of truth. Of all we know, these numbers might significantly change as it nears their release dates. Keep that in mind.
"Now we shall take the adventure that Aslan has given to us!"
It is important to note that the films with built in fan-bases will automatically have more people wanting to see it. That's why there are so many people that want to see Harry Potter compared to Tangled. That is also probably why TRON has less votes than Narnia. While TRON has a fanbase, it is not nearly as big.
I visit rottentomatoes frequently so I know the critic consensus is that LWW is the better film, but critics and the general public are two entirely different entities. Alice in Wonderland is the 6th highest grossing film ever, and yet it only managed to get 51% from critics. Pirates of the Caribbean:Dead Man's Chest only got a 54% on rating, however it is the 4th highest grossing film EVER.
The point is the critical reception does not always indicate how the rest of the world receives a film.

That's very true, FriendofNarnia2! Even if critics love the movie, the world might have an entirely different opinion. But if we're lucky, both critics and the world will both agree that VDT is great! I guess we won't be able to tell if this is true for now, but we can have hope that it is!
It's great to know that more people want to see VDT than Tangled and Tron: Legacy, although it's obvious that even more people plan to see Harry Potter: Deathly Hallows Part 1. It's awesome to know that the Dawn Treader has a spectacular chance at floating! Hooray!
52,080 people want to see VDT compared to 103,110 for Harry Potter and 2,062 for Tangled. That means that VDT has dropped into second place, but I guess that's okay, right?

Yes that is Great cause with all Narnia fans who are going to see it countless times!!! It will move to first place SAIL ON DAWN TREADER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Harry Potter is in a league of its own. It really shouldn't be factored into the debate, if you ask me. It's the last entry in a series that's been a generational phenomenon.
I'm definitely more interested in how VDT will fare compared to Tron and the like.

This is very encouraging! It lets us know that there are people out there that do want to see it (other than us Narnia nuts )!
I don't think I've ever seen the poster they had for VDT before. Is it new? Why haven't I seen it yet?
And, guys, don't worry about HP. There is NO way we'd be able to surpass it. At least it is coming out the month before VDT, so that gives moviegoers a bit of time to see it before they see VDT (and there will probably be good advertising for VDT by then...think of all the people that would learn about it!!! ).

When I first read the topic title-thingie, I thought it meant something like "How many people will throw rotten tomatoes at the movie screen if the movie isn't that good?" I thought, "What?" But now I get it... I feel a bit thick in the head.
But I think this is rather good! I have been talking to many of my friends, and their siblings, and their parents, etc., and I don't think I've met one person who said that they didn't want to see it in theaters. Typical response when the topic comes up: "Oh, yeah, the Narnia movie? I really want to see that in theaters! When is it coming out again?" And then of course I tell them and hopefully they'll remember the date!!
