I thought the ending was very well done, and the way it had Eustace narrating it set up for him taking over as the main character in the series very well.

Ditto, Aragorn2.

I thought it was well-done and touching. Not overdone, not dragged out, not cutsie. I loved the draining frame, and how the shot moved from below the water to above it. The sense of farewell was taken very seriously, as Eustace moved front and centre and the audience comes to the realisation that now he, not Lu, Ed, or Caspian, is the future of Narnia. Oh, I could go on for a long time. In short, I loved this scene.

Except for the Jill Pole thing.

I really liked the ending! first with the shot of Lucy. Edmund and Eustace in the water tunnel thing they look so beautiful! I love Eustaces last diary entry. I liked the sadness to it, it had a closing feel. Because all of the Pevensies are now done with the series

Part of me still feels that we wont get a SC adaptation. Do you think they chose to end with this scene playing out the way it did so that it had a more "closing" feel, and so that it could potentially be the end of the franchise.

I realize Aslan's line to Eustace about Narnia needing him and the Jill Pole comment point otherwise, but this is just a thought of mine.

"I'm a beast I am, and a Badger what's more. We don't change. We hold on. I say great good will come of it... And we beasts remember, even if Dwarfs forget, that Narnia was never right except when a son of Adam was King." -Trufflehunter

I personally felt the closing of the door should not have been the last shot. Where was Aslan's roar? I felt that there was need of one other shot of the painting.

I was waiting to see Caspain and the star's daughter get married!

Yeah, that would have been nice, but I don't think it was developed enough in the film, especially with Edmund thinking she was beautiful too. Thinking someone beautiful is hardly enough reason to make them one's wife and queen. I wondered why they didn't include it, since romance seemed to win the day at the end of the last movie, though that might have been WHY they didn't include it. Then I thought maybe it was just showing things from the perspective of Eustace and the Pevensies and only showing us what they saw, but there were times in the movie where that wasn't the case, so I don't know. I was left unsatisfied at the end of the movie, which is why I HOPE it isn't the last one...

Of all the changes made in the movies, not having a Silver Chair at all because Caspian and Liliandil never married would be...unforgivable. Though I think I might forgive them since Susan and Peter had a cameo, especially if the series continues and Susan is shown in Aslan's country ;) That's a change I would like...

I loved this ending scene so much! They played it just right- I loved the water draining into the picture, and the look Edmund and Lucy shared was so...I don't know how to explain it, but it caught everything they must be feeling so perfectly. I loved how Eustace put the picture back on the wall so carefully, and his diary entry in the background was brilliant. I did miss Aslan's roar though, now that people have mentioned it on here I think that's what I was missing.
I'm still not very keen on the Jill Pole reference because she and Eustace don't like each other before the Silver Chair, and I don't understand why they would just throw the reference in when nobody but book fans will get the reference.
Any way, I do think the whole thing set up Eustace's taking over the main role very well. I do hope they continue the movie series!

I really liked the ending. It conveyed so much emotion with so few words. Overall, I think it was probably the most emotional ending out of the 3 movies, especially since they wrecked PC's ending with the kiss. :(

Did anyone else notice that the wall hanger for the picture was shaped like a cross (at least, it looked like a cross)?

I really liked this scene. I also loved the voice over by Eustace. It really was different from the voice over he did at the beginning (about treating Ed and Lucy like his bugs.) It shows how much his character has changed. I think it was very well done and quite emotional. I loved it! :)

And the best part was the Jill Pole reference! FABULOUS!

The voice over was awesome :) ! I thought it was great to hear the inner thoughts of the character for a change, but the Jill pole reference was a bit irritating for me. I suppose there have been other threads touching on why this could be but i still think that if SC is made, Eustace and Jill shouldn't know each other- thats out the window now :(

When the characters end up back in the room in Cambridge and the water drains away but it is dry, I think that I finally had a second to take in just how much I enjoyed watching the film. That scene was so beautifully subtle and i just loved It! It was very well played as well. The door closing bit was nice too. It had a very almost modern feel to it if you see what I mean?

I'll admit I missed the roar...it is almost like a hug or ray of sunlight- very...warm! But the end credits were very nicely done as well!

All in all, a great last scene!

I liked the very very last scene in the movie in the bedroom. I loved the effect of the water going down but the characters staying dry. And then there was that pause where they all look at the picture...and Eustace slowly hangs up it, giving it respect (unlike the beginning of the film).

I didn't like Eustace' voiceover though. It seemed totally unnecessary. I think it's safe to assume they talked about Narnia after that. There was no need to say it. It would have been more emotional to just have them walk out.

Personally, I think the voiceover was appropriate because this movie was told from Eustace's point of view, regarding the diary narration. I thought it was great!

I love the voiceover! it helped the story along and helped the audience to see the story from Eustace's perspective even better! :D

I didn't like Eustace' voiceover though. It seemed totally unnecessary.

I liked the ending narration by Eustace because it balanced out the beginning of the movie's "impaling relatives" tone with the changed Eustace's new attitude towards his cousins. And it also gave us a little bit more of the new Eustace whose character transformation as a boy was definitely cut short (compared to the book) in this film version of VDT. :)
