Reading the Aslan's country report, I felt that Edmund was being a bit of a bully. Ok yes, Eustace is annoying, I know! But Edmund isn't supposed to stoop down to that level. Anyways, he had his own issues once. It just seems that he is trying to beat up Eustace too many times.

And Susan??? So that answers our question: "whill VDT reference Suspian"....Does he HAVE to think its Susan???

They have to follow Lilliandil...the star. Its reminds me of the Shepards finding Baby Jesus by following the star. That's interesting if Lilliandil brings them to Aslan or something (or close at least,) but why is she so special as to have that job?

I would rather have tLotGK than the White Witch actually. I am so tired of the White Witch and I am sure many other people will be as well. This isn't a comic book! We don't bring villians back. This isn't a video game to go collect the seven swords either! It would hurt so much more if WW=LotGK as well :((

As for the other report...I had a great feeling that this movie is going to be fantastic, and I still do, however, now, at the same time I also have a feeling that I am not going to like it. I am trying to keep in mind that the reporter could have misinterperated things and what not. I will try not judge the movie until I see it. However, if the movie is as bad as the report makes me feel it is, I wouldn't be watching or supporting another Narnia movie. I will watch this one and pray that its good.

I feel like even though PC changed the plot structure a lot, they kept the theme of the book. VDT seems like they aren't even keep the themes let alone the actual strcture and plot line! I don't know what to think. I just hope it turns out alright. I want to see the movie and everything, but I'm not as excited as I was before. :(

I'm starting to think that maybe Caspian indicating Lucy to Susan will be the subplot to Lucy's vanity and not to Suspian. Although i still don't like the idea of Caspian thinking Lucy is Susan I hope he doesn't go overboard by showing a disappointed look afterwards or else this crew will have serious liability at their hands for not fixing this problem and that Caspian/Lilliandil's romance will come out as a lie. I don't want that to happen! X(

I wonder why are they telling us all these spoilers anyways? Why all of a sudden and why are they giving away so much? Just curious as to what the film makers and producers were reasoning with this.

Me too! Although I'll need more info to change my thoughts on this, right now, I kind of feel more sorry to Eustace then Edmund! I can understand not liking a cousin at all, but to bully him doesn't make it any better! Edmund, you and Peter are acting a lot alike. Stop being so mean! :-s

They aren't giving us any more spoilers than they did with PC. It's just that they all come out on one day! But with PC, we already knew it would open in Narnia, then go back to the pevensies, and then switch back between the two. We knew about the night raid, the white witch, and the susan & caspian romance. That's about everything they changed from the book, so, yeah, we went in pretty much knowing what we would get.

The problem is a lot of the stuff and spoilers we are getting right now aren't good at all. But in the end, all these changes could still work out great, because you can only judge them when you see the final film.

What troubles me the most, is how they seem to forget adding an explanation about the seven swords thing and the whole white witch returning. How does she return? Why are the seven swords needed? Why do they have to be laid at Aslan's feet? If they cannot explain these questions, the movie will just fall apart. All we know is what the characters have to do, instead of why they have to do it! I sincerely hope the movie has some answers, for it would be extremely weak to just suddenly bring up the situation 'because it's cool'. But I suppose Apted wouldn't be that stupid to go through 3 years of production without realising that the audience will have questions about this.

Even if they just say that these are legendary swords forged during the creation of Narnia, and that it is the deep magic that can make them destroy the dark Island, That would be fine. It would be kinda lame, but at least the questions are answered.

That's a very good question. I think it results from a marketing strategy used for The Passion of the Christ and LWW.

I guess I feel this way b/c the spoilers to VDT seem so much bigger than the PC spoliers (imo.) Or yes, it could be a marketing strategy as Clive Staples Sibelius said.

All we know is what the characters have to do, instead of why they have to do it!

Agreed adamie!

I agree ShastaFan, I feel a bit sorry for Eustace, which isn't a good sign.

Meh, college is stressful enough. This isn't enough to worry me. Yeah, some of it sounds silly/Hollywood-ized/just plain out there. But, honestly, it sounds better then PC. And, I'm content with that.

My two cents. The smoke equaling temptation. Perhaps that's what that bit of smoke we saw in the Eustace in the Dragon's Lair clip was (last bit with Eustace, just before it cut away from him)? It just hadn't been turned green?

Also, regarding the Duffers being giants. I've been curious about something like this for awhile. In this pic, we see four duffers in two pairs. Standing on one another's shoulders. Making dwarfs appear as giants. Which, if invisible, simply adds to one's mysteriousness and threatfulness. Simple, no?

AH! Sorry, just had an 'a' moment there. Let me explain. No, there is too much, let me sum up.

My main thought while reading these two articles was 'Poor Edmund. Poor, poor Edmund.' Because they are...as someone else put it so well, 'Hollywood, anyone?' Look, in the book it says

Edmund, who had been looking more and more uncomfortable for the last few minutes, now spoke.

"Look here," he said, "I hope I'm not a coward - about eating this food, I mean - and I'm sure I don't mean to be rude. But we have had a lot of queer adventures on this voyage of ours and things aren't always what they seem. When I look in your face I can't help believing all you say: but then that's just what might happen with a witch too. How are we to know you're a friend?"

Now, does that sound to you like he's attracted to RD? (I still can't quite bring myself to use that Elvish-pickle name) No! He's /not/. *Sigh* Well, now that mini rant is over...

The good thing is - Ramandu will at least be in there. And Reep sounds good - though calling him a rat tsk.

Oh, well. It does sound like a good movie, though not as good as we could have hoped. Still, one must forgive them, in a way, for how can one transpose such bewitching beauty to a mere screen?

Why must I put something here at all? But if I must...
If all is not lost, where is it?

College is stressful for me too, and this news has onlt helped to push me over the edge! 8-} Really must disagree that PC is worse. PC mainly had character changes, and a few scene shuffles, and one big scene addition that was actually liked by critics. VDT has character changes, scene condensings and shuffling, lame lines, new characters, the White Witch returning for a THIRD freaking time, and a horrible horrible plotline involving collecting seven swords in order to complete the video game mission. I really wish there was a tantrum emoticon! :((

I think PC kept the spirit of the book, but I don't feel VDT is doing that, which is my main problem. I especially have a problem on how this will affect Aslan. The WW coming abck diminishes Aslan's power. How about the fact that it may look like Eustace has to earn his humanity back? Or the fact that Aslan lets the Pevensies have a choice of coming to his country or going home and they choose to go home?

Obviously I won't make final judgments until I see the film, but so far, PC seems to be very loyal compared to teh changes we are hearing about VDT

Caspian: “Susan! It’s ok, I’ve got you!” Lucy: “It’s me, Lucy!”

=)) Yes, that is a laughing smilie (or is it smily? my spell check doesn't like either :p one). I laughed not because it was funny but because it was so ridiculous. It was a "I-really-can't-believe-the-did-that-laugh" No merriment whatsoever but perhaps a bit of hysteria and/or insanity.

Seriously, why didn't they just leave Lucy and Ed out of the movie and do it with Susan and Peter. They are acting like their siblings anyway. :p

*hunts for a couple of rotten tomatoes to throw at Libby.* =)) (I'm just kidding)

Lucy uses the snow spell. Lucy finds the ‘infallible’ good-lookin’ spell (:-P). “What’s going on?” She looks as Susan does, and as Lucy talks, the book talks with her. “I’m beautiful!” She looks in a window’s reflection, and she still looks as Lucy did. She appears upset over this.

:(( :(( :(( :(( X( X( X( X( X( X( She isn't supposed to say the spell!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Aslan is supposed to stop her!!!!!!!!! I wonder why the spell doesn't work. :-

I have plenty more I could say but I have to go shopping to get allergy medicine. 8-|

My thoughts on the recent spoilers are summed up in these two threads. I don't think I have much to add. Lady_Liln: I do like your thoughts on the Dufflepuds. Good work! Eavis: I agree on Ed and Ramandu's daughter. Valiant: I disagree that bringing back the WW diminishes Aslan's power. He defeats her after all, doesn't he? Using the human characters as just an instrument? The swords' power isn't defeated until laid at Aslan's feet which shows that Aslan has all true power, not the WW or even human kings. :)

^^ Well my real problem is that she comes back at all, not so much that "seven swords must be laid at Aslan's feet." ----I mean thats sounds corny too, but I'm not saying that will necessarily diminish Aslan's power (that is if Aslan doesn't need the swords but wants them.)

Its the fact that the WW comes back at all. If she is dead then why is she coming back? Does this mean Aslan didn't really kill her? Or does this mean she can come back even if he does defeat her? So how many times IS she going to come back? Can't Aslan prevent her from staying dead?

I agree that Aslan is the one that defeats all evil, sometimes using other people as his instrumets. :) But she is already defeated. And if they had to bring her back, does the way to defeat her have to be so contrived with plot tokens and all? And of course, why do they need the swords? Aslan doesn't need them (I hope), so I guess he wants them. But why? I hope that is answered otherwise I will be scratching my head. :-
