Well, I didn't see him as having a crush, and I didn't realize others did, so I can see where people would be upset about that. I just thought he was looking at her in a "just a pretty girl" sort of way.

Well he said "NO!" when she joked about changing forms (I think she was joking) and then looked akwardly at Caspian. Seems like a crush (crush not full out love of course) to me. I guess you can read it differently, but I can just imagine guys I know saying something like that to a girl they liked.
If he just though she was pretty, I think his reaction would not be so dramatic and he would be a bit more subtle in his admiration of her beauty. And if they had to do it, did they have to do it such a cheesy way with them acting like high-schoolers? It could have been a bit more sophisticated.

Well, maybe. I'm not around guys much (no brothers, don't date, and all my guy friend live halfway across the country. ). So I'm not very good at interpreting guys' actions. But I'm still not very worried about it, regardless. I guess I'm just an optimist for once in my life.

Yes and I'm a pessimist
I hope your positiveness will rub off on me! Edmund is my favorite character, so thats one thing I'm worried about.
On a positive note, I love Eustace. He seems perfect, maybe a bit agressive, but thats ok. I love his relationship with Reepicheep! I hope the execution is as good as how its described. I am so excited to see that. Reepicheep does capture the spirit of the book really, him and Eustace.

I hang out with a lot guys and I have a boyfriend. Boys at Edmund's age have trouble with keeping things to themselves when it comes to girls. I remember watching Terminator Salvation with my friend who was 16 at the time and he would not shut up about that Blair woman being so hot during the movie. Guys will blurt and say just about anything if they feel a girl/woman is attractive.
Honestly I'm not worried. That will probably be it, and you never know someone like Drinian or Rynelf might go "WOW!" if they come up to her in the film. She is supposed to be the most beautiful woman these people have ever seen. So this pratically doesn't matter.

We'll see how its presented and how far the "love triangle" will go. Like I said, its not my primary concern with the movie. But it is annoying...

*makes a rare visit to the GMD*
I don't wwnat to have a fully negative outlook on the movie, but several things in the latest news has.... let's say, disheartening, qualities.
For me, these are:
--Caspian's motives to find the seven swords is to keep the White Witch from returning. I don't know why we just can't accept the fact that she's dead, is not the ultimate enemy who keeps on popping all over the place, and well, is dead.
Correct me if I'm wrong (I didn't read all the articles, and that just briefed through.) but Caspian going to look for the swords to save his country is honorable in it's own way, but the original motives of him going to find the seven lost lords of his father's just because he wanted to find them is far more admirable and true to the real story.
--Caspian saying, "Don't worry, Susan! I've got you!" I commented earlier that it doesn't perturb me much because perhaps a) they'll ignore Susaspian b) it has possibilities to mean other things other than bringing Su/Cas back in the picture. However, it makes one think.
--Caspian and Edmund saying, "No!" It wasn't quite like that in the story; even Caspian was very respectful to Ramandu's daughter. But Edmund... I understand what people are saying that he can't help it, but no offense intended, I don't think that that is a secure enough cause to justify that being in the footage.
Yes, a few things seem positive but these things are rather ponder-some. I'm just hoping no bothersome love triangles will come in. Or worse, two or three.... But I won't put forth a complete "this is going to be horrible" thought. Just hope for the best, and expect the worst?

*skims through the last couple pages of posts* Oh my...it sounds like you guys need a hug.
I know a lot of concerns have arisen from these last couple of reports, but please don't give up hope - there are a lot of positive things too. Especially the way the reporters seem to be reacting to the screening. If they were like, "This movie looks awful," then it'd be different. But I can tell by the way they wrote their articles that they are looking forward to VDT. Having that kind of support is really important. And let's face it - we're really not going to know the full extent of these changes or why they were made until the movie comes out and we are able to see them in context. Who knows - we may end up liking them!
So please try to cheer up, look at the positives as well, and don't be so quick to judge. A little optimism never hurt anyone. */end pep talk*

^ The only change that I will not love is if Caspian's character acts like a complete cry baby and hypocrite all because he thought Lucy was Susan at first.

Thanks for the hug Wanderer Now I just need to read Dawn Treader again. That will make me feel much better
Yes there is conflicting news. Those who have seen footage seem to love it, but the news that is coming out on the changes seems pretty terrible. I am so confused and I can't wait to see the movie. This production has been so weird, I just want to see what is going on! I hope I'm wrong and the movie turns out fantastic!

The moment The lights went off when I saw PC was one of the best moments of my live, I had never wanted to see a movie that badly, because it was the first production I actually followed from start to finish, and it looked real promising. now, with DT, I'm just not excited anymore. I'm just confused.
How is it possible that all the reports we heard from have been describing this film as the most true to the book and best , when those same articles describe the most terrible changes thinkable ? I mean, how is that possible?
I'm not excited, I'm nervous ad confused.
Look I don't think that the swords literally have to be laid at Aslan's feet or table or whatever. They probably have to be brought to Aslan. If they literally have to place them at his feet or table then that is even dumber.
I actually think it would be better if they have to laid on the table. Then it wouldn't seem quite so much like "here Aslan here are the swords now you have the power to do your stuff" From that one description it almost seemed like the swords were the means to have RD come down to them. Maybe the "power" of the swords is more tied to Ramandu's Island than to Aslan. All this just doesn't make sense.

Good questions. I haven't the slightest idea. That's pretty much what I'm wondering.
I know there are some scenes I am absolutely going to love (Reep and DragonEustace) and likewise there are some I'm not going to like at all.
Bookwyrm, I absolutely love the rewrite with the substitutions.

I cared a lot more about the problems with PC because it is one of my favorites and VotDT is so episodic that it has never been one of my favorites. I like certain scenes, but the story as a whole is sort of whatever. Which is of course the problem the directors are having.
The undragoning is the scene that i care the most about and what we have heard does not look good for it in my opinion. If they don't get that right then i sort of want them to stop while they are behind.
So everyone get negative and look at the bad side.

^^ what? I don't want to be negative! I am ecstatic about this movie, changes or no changes! but hey, that's just me.....
