I feel as though a lot of his scenes were cut during the final edit... not sure why, and I'm not usually a conspiracy theorist, but I just have a feeling. For instance what about that scene with him looking out from the crow's nest... I don't recall that in the film, although it was in the trailers.
Yes, I was very disappointed about that! It was the only shot in the teaser that reminded me of the book, and that I really liked, and it wasn't even in the film!
Watched the movie a second time, and I kept an eye out for Reep's longing...and it really seriously just was not there. Unless you're a Narnia Fan, and you really really want it to be in there, and you keep telling yourself it must be there, and looking and looking for something to tell you it just might be there...it really isn't there. There's no longing--there's a statement in the beginning, and a confirmation on the end--nothing in between, at least it can't be compared with what is in the book.
Oh, well, you can't expect movies to get everything right.

It bothered me that he earned the right to Aslan`s Country as well. I cringed at those parts. I wonder why they had to add that. If they knew Eustace shouldn`t have earned his undragoning (and it can be argued whether it did look like he earned his undragoning) why didn`t they realize Reep couldn`t earn the right to Aslan`s Country. I would have thought someone would have told them that wasn`t in line with what lewis believed.
Actually, I think that what was said was, in a way, in line with Lewis' beliefs. Re-reading The Magician's Nephew, I saw this:
the cabby, Magician's Nephew: "Now then, now then," came the cabby's voice, a good firm, hardy voice. "Keep cool, everyone, that's what I say. No bones broken, anyone? Good. Well, there's something to be thankful for straight away, and mroe than anyone could expect after falling all that way. Now, if we've fall down some diggings, as it might be fro a new station on the underground, someone will come and get us out presently, see!"
"And if we're dead- which I don't deny it might be- well, you got to remember that worse things 'appen at sea and a chap's got to die sometime. And there ain't nothing to be afraid of if a chap's led a decent life."
So basically, the cabby is saying that if you've led a decent life, you can go to Aslan's Country.
Still.
What I think the filmmakers were trying to say was that "IF ANYONE would EVER deserve to go to Aslan's Country, it'd be Reep."

I seriously doubt that Lewis was actually trying to describe who gets into Aslan's country when he wrote that line for the cabby. I think you're really stretching that.
