As an adaption: 2,5
As a movie: 3,5 (I would give it a four, but some parts were just too rushed)

So I'll give it a 3

I think it was a very good movie. A 3's good in my book, especially when it's an apaption of one of my favourite books, if I hadn't read the book I might've given it more..)

I gave it a 2/5 when I first saw it and I'm still giving it a 2/5. I think what bothers me the most is the story had potential. I could see where they were trying to go with it, but they didn't get there. I was bored in the theater. Bored. I could not have cared less whether they lived or died or disappeared into a green mist. There was only one moment in the entire film that I felt even a slight emotional attachment to any of the characters: when Dragon Eustace cries. I felt sad watching the tears pour down his face. Not because I felt sorry for Eustace, but because no beast should cry real tears. And then Reepicheep started talking about extraordinary destinies and I was bored again.

The plot is a mess. The pacing is way too fast....There are just too many problems with this movie.

I feel worse about the film as time goes on. I'm not sure how I will feel after I see it again on DVD, but right now I would give it 2. Before I would have given it a 3- 3.5 (well actually, RIGHT after seeing it I would have given it a 4.5, but I was trying to dillusion myself about the quality of the film then.) ;)

better than 4. not as good as a 5. since there are no options in between, i will give it a 4. it is definitely better when seeing it more than once.

I saw it 3 times. The first time I really liked it, but was disappointed by the rushed pacing. The second time, the scenes I liked the first time really grew on me even more, and I noticed some other really cool things. However, I also noticed some of the cheesy dialogue, mainly the magicians, a little more. The 3rd time I saw it I enjoyed it the most. In the end I gave it 4 out of 5 stars. I liked it slightly better then PC. I think among Narnia webbers time has been very kind to PC. I can not forgive the changing of Peter's character, which is why I think this movie is better. I thought it had more of the spirit of Narnia, and honestly felt more right. However, from a purely movie perspective, PC would probably win slightly since they gave it an extra 20 minutes. That allowed it to be better paced, and not feel rushed. Both had some cheesy dialogue, and Caspian s accent was very distracting. So my order is from top to bottom, TLWW,VDT,PC. With PC and VDT being very close.

The movie just didn't act like the book. I know that the movies are different from the book, but the only thing they got right was the cast, props and Islands. It was also rushed. Like when they found the remains of two lords on one island.

3.
Not great at all, not good in most ways, but had a couple scenes that were okay. Overall not that great.

The only good things were: Eustace, Edmund (sometimes), and the fact that it makes me forgive them more for the mistakes they make in PC. (At least PC stayed with the plot line of the book.)

I gave it a 4. I could have done without the green mist and the pacing was way to fast but overall I liked watching it.

Have not been around for a long while. I do recall a movie called voyage of the dawn treader. I rather liked it (4/5) the second time I watched it. The first time I watched it I thought it was C.S. Lewis' Voyage of the Dawn Treader and was very disillusioned.

Having said that, does anyone know when C.S. Lewis Voyage of the Dawn Treader is going to be released. It seems as if we've been waiting an awfully long time.

Ancientdogma: VotDT has been out in theaters since December 10, though depending on where you are it may or may not be still in theaters. :)
it will be on DVD April 8 (USA) and April 18 (UK). I'm not sure of the other DVD release dates in other places, sorry. hope that helps! :D :D

Ok I think I am finally, finally, able to give it an 8/10 (For comparisons sake, LWW was 10/10 and PC was 9.7/10) Can't wait for the dvd... mostly for the bonus footage :P

They decided to film the book C. S. Lewis didn't write instead. I'm sorry you were disappointed.
